GOD’S PERFECT SPECIFICATIONS		하나님의 완벽한 사양
[ Genesis 1:26 - 1:31 ] - hymn 68 God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. [ GENESIS 1:27 ] After a company couldn’t meet the specifications for ink pens used in some US government offices in the 1960s, the General Services Administration asked National Industries for the Blind (NIB) to make 70 million pens—despite NIB having never made pens before. They accepted the challenge and met all the specifications. Since 1967 blind factory workers have assembled these writing instruments used extensively by military personnel. The pens can be used to write upside down, make a mile-long line of ink, and withstand extreme temperatures. Genesis 1:27 reminds us that each human being has been made to God’s perfect specifications: “God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” How we’re created reflects God’s character and nature. Being created in His image means everyone has inherent dignity and worth. God said that each person’s story begins with being made “in [His] image, in [His] likeness” (V. 26). This truth provides the foundation for understanding human dignity, identity, and relationships with others. Just as those pens serve a vital role, so do we! Though we might feel unimpressive, each of us holds intrinsic value and purpose crafted by God. Today, may we embrace our story, knowing our Creator treasures us and calls us “very good” (V. 31). MARVIN WILLIAMS		[ 창세기 1:26 - 1:31 ] - 찬송가 68 장 하나님이 자기 형상 곧 하나님의 형상대로 사람을 창조하시되 남자와 여자를 창조하시고 [창세기 1:27] 1960년 대에 한 회사가 미국의 일부 관공서에서 사용하는 잉크 펜의 사양을 충족시키지 못하자, 미연방 조달청은 국립 시각장애인 직업 시설에 7천만 자루의 펜을 주문했습니다. 그 시설은 이전에 펜을 만들어 본 적이 없었음에도 그 주문을 받아들이고 모든 사양에 맞는 펜을 제작해 냈습니다. 1967년부터 지금까지 그곳 시각장애인 근로자들은 군인용으로 널리 사용되는 필기구를 제작하고 있습니다. 그 펜은 위쪽을 향하여도 쓸 수 있고, 1마일(약 1.6킬로미터) 길이의 선을 그을 수 있으며, 극한의 온도에도 견딜 수 있습니다. 창세기 1장 27절은 각 사람이 하나님의 완벽한 사양에 맞추어 창조되었다고 알려줍니다. “하나님이 자기 형상 곧 하나님의 형상대로 사람을 창조하시되 남자와 여자를 창조하시고.” 말씀대로 우리는 하나님의 성품과 본질대로 창조되었습니다. 하나님의 형상대로 창조되었다는 말은 누구나 고유한 존엄성과 가치를 지니고 있다는 것을 의미합니다. 각 사람은 “[하나님의] 형상, [하나님의] 모양”대로 지음 받은 것에서부터 그들의 이야기가 시작된다고 하나님이 말씀하신 것입니다(26절). 이 진리는 인간의 존엄성과 정체성과 타인과의 관계를 이해하는 토대를 제공해 줍니다. 시각장애인들이 만든 그 펜들이 중요하게 쓰임 받는 것처럼 우리도 중요 하게 쓰임 받을 수 있습니다! 비록 우리가 별 볼일 없이 느껴지더라도, 우리는 각자 하나님께서 빚으신 내재적 가치와 목적을 지니고 있습니다. 오늘, 우리 창조주 하나님이 우리를 소중히 여기시며 “심히 좋았더라”(31절)고 말씀하신 것을 기억 하며, 우리 인생의 이야기를 받아들일 수 있기를 바랍니다.

26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

26 하나님이 이르시되 우리의 형상을 따라 우리의 모양대로 우리가 사람을 만들고 그들로 바다의 물고기와 하늘의 새와 가축과 온 땅과 땅에 기는 모든 것을 다스리게 하자 하시고

27 하나님이 자기 형상 곧 하나님의 형상대로 사람을 창조하시되 남자와 여자를 창조하시고

28 하나님이 그들에게 복을 주시며 하나님이 그들에게 이르시되 생육하고 번성하여 땅에 충만하라, 땅을 정복하라, 바다의 물고기와 하늘의 새와 땅에 움직이는 모든 생물을 다스리라 하시니라

29 하나님이 이르시되 내가 온 지면의 씨 맺는 모든 채소와 씨 가진 열매 맺는 모든 나무를 너희에게 주노니 너희의 먹을 거리가 되리라

30 또 땅의 모든 짐승과 하늘의 모든 새와 생명이 있어 땅에 기는 모든 것에게는 내가 모든 푸른 풀을 먹을 거리로 주노라 하시니 그대로 되니라

31 하나님이 지으신 그 모든 것을 보시니 보시기에 심히 좋았더라 저녁이 되고 아침이 되니 이는 여섯째 날이니라
