Paul said that we were resurrected with Christ and there could not be a gospel without the resurrection. It was a contradiction to believe in Christ’s resurrection but deny the resurrection of the dead, meaning if Christ’s resurrection was true, it also had to be true that believers would also be resurrected (v. 12). If resurrection was not possible, Christ could not have been resurrected, rendering faith and the gospel meaningless and making the apostles false witnesses. Furthermore, it meant sinners could not be redeemed, and those who had died with hope in Christ would perish, so if resurrection is not possible, Christians are to be the most pitied (vv. 13-19).
바울은 그리스도의 부활이 곧 우리의 부활이기에, 부활이 없는 복음은 있을 수 없다고 말합니다. 그리스도의 부활을 믿으면서 죽은 자의 부활을 부정하는 것은 모순이며, 그리스도의 부활이 사실이라면 성도의 부활도 필연적 결과입니다(12절). 만일 부활이 없다면 그리스도의 부활도 없었을 것이고, 복음과 믿음은 헛되며 사도들은 거짓 증인이 됩니다. 더 나아가 죄 사함도 없고, 소망 가운데 살다 죽은 성도들도 멸망할 것이니, 부활이 없다면 그리스도인은 가장 불쌍한 사람이 되고 맙니다(13-19절).

Who is God?
VV. 12-19 God raised Christ from the dead. As the creator of life, he naturally has the power to take life and restore it again. God sent us Christ and resurrected him to restore us, who were dead due to sin, back to life. To deny this truth is to deny the crux of our faith.
그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살리셨습니다. 생명을 창조하신 분이기에 생명을 거둬 가실 수 있고 또 다시 살리실 권한과 능력이 하나님께 있는 것은 당연합니다. 하나님은 죄로 인해 전적으로 죽은 우리를 다시 살리시기 위해 그리스도를 내어 주시고 다시 살리셨습니다. 이 사실을 부정하는 것은 곧 우리 신앙의 정수를 부정하는 것입니다.
