12The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. 13 So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!” 14 And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written, 15 “Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!” 16 His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him. 17 The crowd that had been with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to bear witness. 18 The reason why the crowd went to meet him was that they heard he had done this sign. 19 So the Pharisees said to one another, “You see that you are gaining nothing. Look, the world has gone after him.”
12다음날에는 명절을 지키러 온 많은 무리가, 예수께서 예루살렘에 들어오신다는 말을 듣고, 13 종려나무 가지를 꺾어 들고, 그분을 맞으러 나가서 “호산나! 주님의 이름으로 오시는 이에게 복이 있기를! 이스라엘의 왕에게 복이 있기를!” 하고 외쳤다. 14 예수께서 어린 나귀를 보시고, 그 위에 올라타셨다. 그것은 이렇게 기록한 성경 말씀과 같았다. 15 “시온의 딸아, 두려워하지 말아라. 보아라, 네 임금이 어린 나귀를 타고 오신다.” 16 제자들은 처음에는 이 말씀을 깨닫지 못하였으나, 예수께서 영광을 받으신 뒤에야, 이것이 예수를 두고 기록한 것이며, 또 사람들도 그에게 그렇게 대하였다는 것을 회상하였다. 17 또 예수께서 무덤에서 나사로를 불러내어 죽은 사람들 가운데서 살리실 때에 함께 있던 사람들이, 그 일어난 일을 증언하였다. 18 이렇게 무리가 예수를 맞으러 나온 것은, 예수가 이런 표징을 행하셨다는 말을 들었기 때문이다. 19 그래서 바리새파 사람들이 서로 말하였다. “이제 다 틀렸소. 보시오. 온 세상이 그를 따라갔소.”
