1The oracle concerning the valley of vision. What do you mean that you have gone up, all of you, to the housetops, 2 you who are full of shoutings, tumultuous city, exultant town? Your slain are not slain with the sword or dead in battle. 3 All your leaders have fled together; without the bow they were captured. All of you who were found were captured, though they had fled far away. 4 Therefore I said: “Look away from me; let me weep bitter tears; do not labor to comfort me concerning the destruction of the daughter of my people.” 5 For the Lord GOD of hosts has a day of tumult and trampling and confusion in the valley of vision, a battering down of walls and a shouting to the mountains. 6 And Elam bore the quiver with chariots and horsemen, and Kir uncovered the shield. 7 Your choicest valleys were full of chariots, and the horsemen took their stand at the gates. 8 He has taken away the covering of Judah. In that day you looked to the weapons of the House of the Forest, 9 and you saw that the breaches of the city of David were many. You collected the waters of the lower pool, 10 and you counted the houses of Jerusalem, and you broke down the houses to fortify the wall. 11 You made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you did not look to him who did it, or see him who planned it long ago. 12 In that day the Lord GOD of hosts called for weeping and mourning, for baldness and wearing sackcloth; 13 and behold, joy and gladness, killing oxen and slaughtering sheep, eating flesh and drinking wine. “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.” 14 The LORD of hosts has revealed himself in my ears: “Surely this iniquity will not be atoned for you until you die,” says the Lord GOD of hosts. 15 Thus says the Lord GOD of hosts, “Come, go to this steward, to Shebna, who is over the household, and say to him: 16 What have you to do here, and whom have you here, that you have cut out here a tomb for yourself, you who cut out a tomb on the height and carve a dwelling for yourself in the rock? 17 Behold, the LORD will hurl you away violently, O you strong man. He will seize firm hold on you 18 and whirl you around and around, and throw you like a ball into a wide land. There you shall die, and there shall be your glorious chariots, you shame of your master's house. 19 I will thrust you from your office, and you will be pulled down from your station. 20 In that day I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, 21 and I will clothe him with your robe, and will bind your sash on him, and will commit your authority to his hand. And he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. 22 And I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David. He shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open. 23 And I will fasten him like a peg in a secure place, and he will become a throne of honor to his father's house. 24 And they will hang on him the whole honor of his father's house, the offspring and issue, every small vessel, from the cups to all the flagons. 25 In that day, declares the LORD of hosts, the peg that was fastened in a secure place will give way, and it will be cut down and fall, and the load that was on it will be cut off, for the LORD has spoken.”
1이것은 ‘환상 골짜기’를 두고 하신 엄한 경고의 말씀이다. 너희가 무슨 변을 당하였기에, 모두 지붕에 올라가 있느냐? 2 폭동으로 가득 찬 성읍, 시끄러움과 소동으로 가득 찬 도성아, 이번 전쟁에 죽은 사람들은 칼을 맞아 죽은 것도 아니고, 싸우다가 죽은 것도 아니다. 3 너희 지도자들은 다 도망치기에 바빴고, 활도 한 번 쏘아 보지 못하고 사로잡혔다. 사로잡힌 너희들도, 아직 적군이 멀리 있는데도, 지레 겁을 먹고 도망 가다가 붙잡혀서 포로가 되었다. 4 그러므로 내가 통곡한다. 다들 비켜라! 혼자서 통곡할 터이니, 나를 내버려 두어라! 내 딸 내 백성이 망하였다고, 나를 위로하려고 애쓰지 말아라. 5 주 만군의 하나님께서 친히 ‘환상 골짜기’에, 혼란과 학대와 소란을 일으키시는 날을 이르게 하셨다. 성벽이 헐리고, 살려 달라고 아우성치는 소리가 산에까지 사무쳤다. 6 엘람 군대는 화살통을 메고 왔고, 기마대와 병거대가 그들과 함께 왔으며, 기르 군대는 방패를 들고 왔다. 7 너의 기름진 골짜기들은 병거부대의 주둔지가 되었고, 예루살렘 성문 앞 광장은 기마부대의 주둔지가 되었다. 8 유다의 방어선이 뚫렸다. 그 때에, 너희는 ‘수풀 궁’에 있는 무기를 꺼내어 오고, 9 ‘다윗 성’에 뚫린 곳이 많은 것을 보았고, ‘아랫못’에는 물을 저장하였다. 10 예루살렘에 있는 집의 수를 세어 보고는, 더러는 허물어다가, 뚫린 성벽을 막았다. 11 또한 ‘옛 못’에 물을 대려고 두 성벽 사이에 저수지를 만들기도 하였다. 그러나 너희는 일이 이렇게 되도록 하신 분을 의지하지 않고, 이 일을 옛적부터 계획하신 분에게는 관심도 없었다. 12 그 날에, 주 만군의 하나님께서 너희에게 통곡하고 슬피 울라고 하셨다. 머리털을 밀고, 상복을 몸에 두르라고 하셨다. 13 그런데 너희가 어떻게 하였느냐? 너희는 오히려 흥청망청 소를 잡고 양을 잡고, 고기를 먹고 포도주를 마시며 “내일 죽을 것이니, 오늘은 먹고 마시자” 하였다. 14 그래서 만군의 주님께서 나의 귀에 대고 말씀하셨다. “이 죄는 너희가 죽기까지 용서받지 못한다.” 주 만군의 하나님께서 이렇게 말씀하셨다. 15 주 만군의 하나님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. “너는 궁중의 일을 책임진 총책임자 셉나에게 가서, 나의 말을 전하여라. 16 ‘네가 이곳과 무슨 상관이 있기에, 이곳에 누가 있기에, 여기에다 너의 무덤을 팠느냐?’” 높은 곳에 무덤을 파는 자야, 바위에 누울 자리를 쪼아 내는 자야! 17 그렇다! 너는 권세가 있는 자다. 그러나 주님께서 너를 단단히 묶어서 너를 세차게 내던지신다. 18 너를 공처럼 둥글게 말아서, 넓고 아득한 땅으로 굴려 버리신다. 네가 거기에서 죽을 것이다. 네가 자랑하던 그 화려한 병거들 옆에서 네가 죽을 것이다. 그리하여 너는 너의 상전의 집에 수치거리가 될 것이다. 19 내가 너를 너의 관직에서 쫓아내겠다. 그가 너를 그 높은 자리에서 끌어내릴 것이다. 20 그 날이 오면, 내가 힐기야의 아들인 나의 종 엘리야김을 불러서, 21 너의 관복을 그에게 입히고, 너의 띠를 그에게 띠게 하고, 너의 권력을 그의 손에 맡길 것이니, 그가 예루살렘에 사는 사람들과 유다 집안의 아버지가 될 것이다. 22 내가 또 다윗 집의 열쇠를 그의 어깨에 둘 것이니, 그가 열면 닫을 자가 없고, 그가 닫으면 열 자가 없을 것이다. 23 단단한 곳에 잘 박힌 못같이, 내가 그를 견고하게 하겠으니, 그가 가문의 영예를 빛낼 것이다. 24 그의 가문의 영광이 그에게 걸릴 것이다. 종지에서 항아리에 이르기까지, 모든 작은 그릇들과 같은 그 자손과 족속의 영광이, 모두 그에게 걸릴 것이다. 25 만군의 주님의 말씀이다. “그 날이 오면, 단단한 곳에 잘 박힌 못이 삭아서 부러져 떨어질 것이니, 그 위에 걸어 둔 것들이 산산조각이 날 것이다.” 이것은 주님께서 하신 말씀이다.
