16“Dan shall judge his people as one of the tribes of Israel. 17 Dan shall be a serpent in the way, a viper by the path, that bites the horse's heels so that his rider falls backward. 18 I wait for your salvation, O LORD. 19 “Raiders shall raid Gad, but he shall raid at their heels. 20 “Asher's food shall be rich, and he shall yield royal delicacies. 21 “Naphtali is a doe let loose that bears beautiful fawns. 22 “Joseph is a fruitful bough, a fruitful bough by a spring; his branches run over the wall. 23 The archers bitterly attacked him, shot at him, and harassed him severely, 24 yet his bow remained unmoved; his arms were made agile by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob (from there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel), 25 by the God of your father who will help you, by the Almighty who will bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that crouches beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb. 26 The blessings of your father are mighty beyond the blessings of my parents, up to the bounties of the everlasting hills. May they be on the head of Joseph, and on the brow of him who was set apart from his brothers. 27 “Benjamin is a ravenous wolf, in the morning devouring the prey and at evening dividing the spoil.” 28 All these are the twelve tribes of Israel. This is what their father said to them as he blessed them, blessing each with the blessing suitable to him.
16단은 이스라엘의 한 지파 구실을 톡톡히 하여, 백성을 정의로 다스릴 것이다. 17 단은 길가에 숨은 뱀 같고, 오솔길에서 기다리는 독사 같아서, 말발굽을 물어, 말에 탄 사람을 뒤로 떨어뜨릴 것이다. 18 주님, 제가 주님의 구원을 기다립니다. 19 갓은 적군의 공격을 받을 것이다. 마침내 적군의 뒤통수를 칠 것이다. 20 아셀에게서는 먹거리가 넉넉히 나올 것이니 그가 임금의 수라상을 맡을 것이다. 21 납달리는 풀어 놓은 암사슴이어서, 그 재롱이 귀여울 것이다. 22 요셉은 들망아지, 샘 곁에 있는 들망아지, 언덕 위에 있는 들나귀다. 23 사수들이 잔인하게 활을 쏘며 달려들어도, 사수들이 적개심을 품고서 그를 과녁으로 삼아도, 24 요셉의 활은 그보다 튼튼하고, 그의 팔에는 힘이 넘친다. 야곱이 섬기는 ‘전능하신 분’의 능력이 그와 함께 하시고, 목자이신 이스라엘의 반석께서 그와 함께 계시고, 25 너의 조상의 하나님이 너를 도우시고, 전능하신 분께서 너에게 복을 베푸시기 때문이다. 위로 하늘에서 내리는 복과, 아래로 깊은 샘에서 솟아오르는 복과, 젖가슴에서 흐르는 복과, 태에서 잉태되는 복을 베푸실 것이다. 26 너의 아버지가 받은 복은 태곳적 산맥이 받은 복보다 더 크며, 영원한 언덕이 받은 풍성함보다도 더 크다. 이 모든 복이 요셉에게로 돌아가며, 형제들 가운데서 으뜸이 된 사람에게 돌아갈 것이다. 27 베냐민은 물어뜯는 이리다. 아침에는 빼앗은 것을 삼키고, 저녁에는 움킨 것을 나눌 것이다.” 28 이들은 모두 이스라엘의 열두 지파이다. 이것은 그들의 아버지가 그들을 축복할 때에 한 말이다. 그는 아들 하나하나에게 알맞게 축복하였다.
