1The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus; 2 it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, the majesty of our God. 3 Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. 4 Say to those who have an anxious heart, “Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.” 5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped; 6 then shall the lame man leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute sing for joy. For waters break forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert; 7 the burning sand shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water; in the haunt of jackals, where they lie down, the grass shall become reeds and rushes. 8 And a highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Way of Holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it. It shall belong to those who walk on the way; even if they are fools, they shall not go astray. 9 No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast come up on it; they shall not be found there, but the redeemed shall walk there. 10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
1광야와 메마른 땅이 기뻐하며, 사막이 백합화처럼 피어 즐거워할 것이다. 2 사막은 꽃이 무성하게 피어, 크게 기뻐하며, 즐겁게 소리 칠 것이다. 레바논의 영광과 갈멜과 샤론의 영화가, 사막에서 꽃 피며, 사람들이 주님의 영광을 보며, 우리 하나님의 영화를 볼 것이다. 3 너희는 맥 풀린 손이 힘을 쓰게 하여라. 떨리는 무릎을 굳세게 하여라. 4 두려워하는 사람을 격려하여라. “굳세어라. 두려워하지 말아라. 너희의 하나님께서 복수하러 오신다. 하나님께서 보복하러 오신다. 너희를 구원하여 주신다” 하고 말하여라. 5 그 때에 눈먼 사람의 눈이 밝아지고, 귀먹은 사람의 귀가 열릴 것이다. 6 그 때에 다리를 절던 사람이 사슴처럼 뛰고, 말을 못하던 혀가 노래를 부를 것이다. 광야에서 물이 솟겠고, 사막에 시냇물이 흐를 것이다. 7 뜨겁게 타오르던 땅은 연못이 되고, 메마른 땅은 물이 쏟아져 나오는 샘이 될 것이다. 승냥이 떼가 뒹굴며 살던 곳에는, 풀 대신에 갈대와 왕골이 날 것이다. 8 거기에는 큰길이 생길 것이니, 그것을 ‘거룩한 길’이라고 부를 것이다. 깨끗하지 못한 자는 그리로 다닐 수 없다. 그 길은 오직 그리로 다닐 수 있는 사람들의 것이다. 악한 사람은 그 길로 다닐 수 없고, 어리석은 사람은 그 길에서 서성거리지도 못할 것이다. 9 거기에는 사자가 없고, 사나운 짐승도 그리로 지나다니지 않을 것이다. 그 길에는 그런 짐승들은 없을 것이다. 오직 구원받은 사람만이 그 길을 따라 고향으로 갈 것이다. 10 주님께 속량받은 사람들이 예루살렘으로 돌아올 것이다. 그들이 기뻐 노래하며 시온에 이를 것이다. 기쁨이 그들에게 영원히 머물고, 즐거움과 기쁨이 넘칠 것이니, 슬픔과 탄식이 사라질 것이다.
