1When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, 2 since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. 4 I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed. 6 “I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7 Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you. 8 For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. 9 I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. 10 All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. 11 And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
1예수께서 이 말씀을 마치시고, 눈을 들어 하늘을 우러러보시고 말씀하셨다. “아버지, 때가 왔습니다. 아버지의 아들을 영광되게 하셔서, 아들이 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하여 주십시오. 2 아버지께서는 아들에게 모든 사람을 다스리는 권세를 주셨습니다. 그것은 아들로 하여금 아버지께서 그에게 주신 모든 사람에게 영생을 주게 하려는 것입니다. 3 영생은 오직 한 분이신 참 하나님을 알고, 또 아버지께서 보내신 예수 그리스도를 아는 것입니다. 4 나는 아버지께서 내게 하라고 맡기신 일을 완성하여, 땅에서 아버지께 영광을 돌렸습니다. 5 아버지, 창세 전에 내가 아버지와 함께 누리던 그 영광으로, 나를 아버지 앞에서 영광되게 하여 주십시오. 6 나는, 아버지께서 세상에서 택하셔서 내게 주신 사람들에게 아버지의 이름을 드러냈습니다. 그들은 본래 아버지의 사람들인데, 아버지께서 그들을 나에게 주셨습니다. 그들은 아버지의 말씀을 지켰습니다. 7 지금 그들은, 아버지께서 내게 주신 모든 것이, 아버지께로부터 온 것임을 알고 있습니다. 8 나는 아버지께서 내게 주신 말씀을 그들에게 주었습니다. 그들은 그 말씀을 받아들였으며, 내가 아버지께로부터 온 것을 참으로 알았고, 또 아버지께서 나를 보내신 것을 믿었습니다. 9 나는 그들을 위하여 빕니다. 나는 세상을 위하여 비는 것이 아니고, 아버지께서 내게 주신 사람들을 위하여 빕니다. 그들은 모두 아버지의 사람들입니다. 10 나의 것은 모두 아버지의 것이고, 아버지의 것은 모두 나의 것입니다. 나는 그들로 말미암아 영광을 받았습니다. 11 나는 이제 더 이상 세상에 있지 않으나, 그들은 세상에 있습니다. 나는 아버지께로 갑니다. 거룩하신 아버지, 아버지께서 내게 주신 아버지의 이름으로 그들을 지켜주셔서, 우리가 하나인 것 같이, 그들도 하나가 되게 하여 주십시오. 12 내가 그들과 함께 지내는 동안은, 아버지께서 내게 주신 아버지의 이름으로 그들을 지키고 보호하였습니다. 그러므로 그들 가운데서는 한 사람도 잃지 않았습니다. 다만, 멸망의 자식만 잃은 것은 성경 말씀을 이루기 위함이었습니다. 13 이제 나는 아버지께로 갑니다. 내가 세상에서 이것을 아뢰는 것은, 내 기쁨이 그들 속에 차고 넘치게 하려는 것입니다. 14 나는 그들에게 아버지의 말씀을 주었는데, 세상은 그들을 미워하였습니다. 그것은, 내가 세상에 속하여 있지 않은 것과 같이, 그들도 세상에 속하여 있지 않기 때문입니다. 15 내가 아버지께 비는 것은, 그들을 세상에서 데려 가시는 것이 아니라, 악한 자에게서 그들을 지켜 주시는 것입니다. 16 내가 세상에 속하지 않은 것과 같이, 그들도 세상에 속하지 않았습니다.
