FAITHFUL AND FORGIVING		신실하심과 용서하심
[ Exodus 32:15 - 32:24 ] - hymn 251 I threw [the gold] into the fire, and out came this calf. [ EXODUS 32:24 ] “It’s not my fault!” So says Han Solo in The Empire Strikes Back when his ship is attacked and there seems to be no escape, only because a repair was not made. When he says it, you wonder if he bears at least some responsibility for his predicament but doesn’t want to admit it. I’ve been there. Sometimes it’s easier to find someone (or something) else to blame rather than accept responsibility myself. Scripture shows us that this tendency is as old as sin. Adam and Eve both did it (GENESIS 3:11-13), and so did Aaron. When Moses was with God on Mount Sinai receiving the Ten Commandments, God told him that the people He’d just released from slavery had turned away to worship an idol (EXODUS 32:7-8). When Moses returned and confronted Aaron (whom he’d left in charge), Aaron responded, “You know how prone these people are to evil” (V. 22). Then he rationalized about the idol he himself cast, saying, “They gave me the gold, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!” (V. 24). Despite our willfulness, God offers us forgiveness when we admit to Him we’ve done wrong. He assures us that He’s “faith-ful and just and will forgive us” (1 JOHN 1:9). Forgiven and received by Him, we can be open about our brokenness to the God who took our blame on Himself on the cross, all because of His perfect, sacrificial love. JAMES BANKS		[ 출애굽기 32:15 - 32:24 ] - 찬송가 251 장 그들이 금을 내게로 가져왔기로 내가 불에 던졌더니 이 송아지가 나왔나이다 [출애굽기 32:24] 영화 ‘제국의 역습’에서 한솔로는 적의 공격을 받은 상태에서 정비 불량 으로 인해 우주선 탈출이 어렵게 되자 “내 잘못이 아니야!” 라고 말했습 니다. 그의 말은 그가 자신의 곤경에 대해 일부나마 책임이 있지만 인정 하기 싫은 것이 아닌가 하는 생각을 하게 합니다. 나도 그랬던 때가 있었습니다. 스스로 책임을 지기보다는 다른 사람이나 상황의 탓으로 돌리는 것이 더 쉬울 수 있습니다. 성경을 보면 이러한 태도는 죄가 처음 생겨났을 때부터 있었습니다. 아담과 하와가 그랬고(창세기 3:11-13) 아론도 그랬습니다. 모세가 시내산에서 하나님으로부터 십계명을 받을 때 하나님은 그분이 방금 해방시킨 백성이 하나님을 등진 채 우상을 섬기고 있다고 말씀하셨습니다(출애굽기 32:7-8). 모세가 산에서 내려와 (대신해서 자리를 맡고 있었던) 아론을 나무라자 아론은 “이 백성의 악함을 당신이 아나이다”(22절) 라고 하며 자신이 만든 우상에 대해 이렇게 변명합니다. “그들이 금을 내게로 가져왔기로 내가 불에 던졌더니 이 송아지가 나왔나이다”(24절). 우리가 알고 저지른 잘못이라도 하나님께 잘못했다고 시인하면 용서해 주십니다. 하나님은 “미쁘시고 의로우사 우리 죄를 사하실 것”(요한1서 1:9) 이라고 약속하십니다. 완전한 희생의 사랑으로 십자가에서 우리의 죄를 대신 감당하신 하나님께 용서받고 받아들여졌기에 우리는 자신의 연약함을 그분께 솔직히 보여드릴 수 있습니다.

15 Moses turned and went down the mountain with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands. They were inscribed on both sides, front and back.

16 The tablets were the work of God; the writing was the writing of God, engraved on the tablets.

17 When Joshua heard the noise of the people shouting, he said to Moses, “There is the sound of war in the camp.”

18 Moses replied: “It is not the sound of victory, it is not the sound of defeat; it is the sound of singing that I hear.”

19 When Moses approached the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, his anger burned and he threw the tablets out of his hands, breaking them to pieces at the foot of the mountain.

20 And he took the calf the people had made and burned it in the fire; then he ground it to powder, scattered it on the water and made the Israelites drink it.

21 He said to Aaron, “What did these people do to you, that you led them into such great sin?”

22 “Do not be angry, my lord,” Aaron answered. “You know how prone these people are to evil.

23 They said to me, ‘Make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don't know what has happened to him.’

24 So I told them, ‘Whoever has any gold jewelry, take it off.’ Then they gave me the gold, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!”

하나님의 용서를 어떻게 경험하셨습니까?
하나님이 당신을 위해 하신 일을 오늘 다른 이들과 어떻게 나눌 수 있을까요?

사랑하는 예수님, 저의 죄와 비난과 수치를 걷어 가 주셔서 감사합니다.
언제나 예수님께 헌신하며 살도록 도와주소서.

15 ○모세가 돌이켜 산에서 내려오는데 두 증거판이 그의 손에 있고 그 판의 양면 이쪽 저쪽에 글자가 있으니

16 그 판은 하나님이 만드신 것이요 글자는 하나님이 쓰셔서 판에 새기신 것이더라

17 여호수아가 백성들의 요란한 소리를 듣고 모세에게 말하되 진중에서 싸우는 소리가 나나이다

18 모세가 이르되 이는 승전가도 아니요 패하여 부르짖는 소리도 아니라 내가 듣기에는 노래하는 소리로다 하고

19 진에 가까이 이르러 그 송아지와 그 춤 추는 것들을 보고 크게 노하여 손에서 그 판들을 산 아래로 던져 깨뜨리니라

20 모세가 그들이 만든 송아지를 가져다가 불살라 부수어 가루를 만들어 물에 뿌려 이스라엘 자손에게 마시게 하니라

21 ○모세가 아론에게 이르되 이 백성이 당신에게 어떻게 하였기에 당신이 그들을 큰 죄에 빠지게 하였느냐

22 아론이 이르되 내 주여 노하지 마소서 이 백성의 악함을 당신이 아나이다

23 그들이 내게 말하기를 우리를 위하여 우리를 인도할 신을 만들라 이 모세 곧 우리를 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 낸 사람은 어찌 되었는지 알 수 없노라 하기에

24 내가 그들에게 이르기를 금이 있는 자는 빼내라 한즉 그들이 그것을 내게로 가져왔기로 내가 불에 던졌더니 이 송아지가 나왔나이다
