EXTENDING GOD’S CARE		하나님의 돌보심을 확장하기
[ 2 Kings 5:1 - 5:14 ] - hymn 438 If only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria! [ 2 KINGS 5:3 ] As a teenager, I had a strained relationship with my churchmate Lisa, so I was dismayed to learn we’d be roommates at our youth summer camp. The week at camp passed smoothly, though, with both of us being civil. The most anticipated event was a bonfire gathering at the end of the week. On that evening, however, I had a fever. I went to bed early, but I could hear the laughter and music outside. An hour later, I was startled by Lisa, who was taking my tem-perature. “I’m not joining them at the bonfire,” she said. “You’re sick. I need to stay with you.” Lisa could’ve stayed uninvolved, but she chose to care for me, which lifted my spirits. We see another example of someone who cared in the story of Naaman. The commander of the Syrian army, Naaman had an Israelite servant girl who’d been taken captive and now “served Naaman’s wife” (2 KINGS 5:2). Separated from family and forced to servitude, the girl could’ve chosen to not help her master, who had leprosy. But her faith moved her to help: “She said to her mistress, ‘If only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him” (V. 3). And God did, in fact, use the prophet Elisha to heal Naaman (VV. 8-14). Lisa and the Israelite girl chose to help, and God worked through them. Let’s ask God to show us who we can extend His care to and give us the wisdom how. KAREN HUANG		[ 열왕기하 5:1 - 5:14 ] - 찬송가 438 장 우리 주인이 사마리아에 계신 선지자 앞에 계셨으면 좋겠나이다 [열왕기하 5:3] 십대였을 때 나는 교회 친구인 리사와 사이가 좋지 않았습니다. 그래서 청소년 여름캠프에서 리사와 한 방을 쓰게 되었다는 것을 알고 크게 실망했지만, 서로 조심하며 캠프에서의 한 주를 순조롭게 지냈습니다. 가장 기다리던 행사는 캠프 마지막 날에 열리는 캠프파이어였습니다. 하지만 그날 밤 나는 열이 나서 일찍 잠자리에 들었는데, 밖에서 나는 웃음소리와 음악소리가 들렸습니다. 한 시간쯤 뒤 나는 내 체온을 재고 있는 리사를 보고 깜짝 놀랐습니다. “캠프파이어에 가지 않을 거야. 네가 아프니까 네 곁에 있어야 할 것 같아.”라고 리사가 말했습니다. 나랑 상관하지 않을 수도 있었지만, 리사는 나를 돌보기로 마음먹었고 그 사실이 내 기분을 좋게 해주었습니다. 나아만 장군에 관한 이야기에서 우리는 돌봄을 실천한 또 다른 인물의 예를 찾아볼 수 있습니다. 아람 군대 장관인 나아만에게는 포로로 잡혀와 “나아만의 아내에게 수종 들던” 이스라엘 소녀가 있었습니다(열왕기하 5:2). 가족과 떨어져 노예생활을 해야 했던 그 소녀는 나병에 걸린 자신의 주인을 돕지 않으려 할 수도 있었습니다. 그러나 소녀의 믿음이 주인을 돕도록 만들었습니다. “그의 여주인에게 이르되 우리 주인이 사마리아에 계신 선지자 앞에 계셨으면 좋겠 나이다 그가 그 나병을 고치리이다”(3절). 그리고 실제로 하나님께서는 엘리사 선지자를 통해 나아만의 병을 고치셨습니다(8-14절). 리사와 이스라엘 소녀가 도움을 주기로 마음먹자, 하나님께서 그들을 통해 역사하셨습니다. 우리도 하나님께 주위의 누가 하나님의 돌보심이 필요한지 보여주시고, 또 어떻게 그들을 돌볼 수 있는지 지혜를 주시기를 간구합시다.

Dear God, I’ve experienced so much help from You. Please use me to help others.

1 Now Naaman was commander of the army of the king of Aram. He was a great man in the sight of his master and highly regarded, because through him the LORD had given victory to Aram. He was a valiant soldier, but he had leprosy.

2 Now bands of raiders from Aram had gone out and had taken captive a young girl from Israel, and she served Naaman's wife.

3 She said to her mistress, “If only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy.”

9 So Naaman went with his horses and chariots and stopped at the door of Elisha's house.

10 Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, “Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed.”

11 But Naaman went away angry and said, “I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy.

13 Naaman's servants went to him and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, ‘Wash and be cleansed’!”

14 So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy.

2 전에 아람 사람이 떼를 지어 나가서 이스라엘 땅에서 어린 소녀 하나를 사로잡으매 그가 나아만의 아내에게 수종들더니

3 그의 여주인에게 이르되 우리 주인이 사마리아에 계신 선지자 앞에 계셨으면 좋겠나이다 그가 그 나병을 고치리이다 하는지라

9 나아만이 이에 말들과 병거들을 거느리고 이르러 엘리사의 집 문에 서니

10 엘리사가 사자를 그에게 보내 이르되 너는 가서 요단 강에 몸을 일곱 번 씻으라 네 살이 회복되어 깨끗하리라 하는지라

11 나아만이 노하여 물러가며 이르되 내 생각에는 그가 내게로 나와 서서 그의 하나님 여호와의 이름을 부르고 그의 손을 그 부위 위에 흔들어 나병을 고칠까 하였도다

13 그의 종들이 나아와서 말하여 이르되 내 아버지여 선지자가 당신에게 큰 일을 행하라 말하였더면 행하지 아니하였으리이까 하물며 당신에게 이르기를 씻어 깨끗하게 하라 함이리이까 하니

14 나아만이 이에 내려가서 하나님의 사람의 말대로 요단 강에 일곱 번 몸을 잠그니 그의 살이 어린 아이의 살 같이 회복되어 깨끗하게 되었더라
