ONE WORTHY OF WORSHIP		경배 받기 합당하신 분
[ Luke 23:44 - 23:49 ] - hymn 21 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. [ PSALM 19:1 ] One April afternoon, millions gathered along a mapped arc across Mexico and the United States to witness a rare total solar eclipse. Schools released children, small towns blos-somed to receive travelers, and neighbors set up lawn chairs in driveways donning protective glasses to take in the wonder. As television crews documented the countdown to “totality,” the crowd grew silent except for one repeated phrase: “Oh my God!” That struck me. I don’t know for certain why those observers chose that phrase in the moment, but I suspect that as mortals encountered the rare and the astonishing, they seemed to need Someone to acknowledge. Someone to thank. Someone to wor-ship. When we look heavenward, our response is awe. As David wrote, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands” (PSALM 19:1). The gospel writer Luke reports Jesus’ last minutes on the cross. “It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining” (23:44-45). Matthew shares a response to this revelation: “When the centu-rion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earth-quake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, ‘Surely he was the Son of God!’ ” (MATTHEW 27:54). They couldn’t help but acknowledge God as the Someone worthy of worship. In humble awe, I worship You—my God. ELISA MORGAN		[ 누가복음 23:44 - 23:49 ] - 찬송가 21 장 하늘이 하나님의 영광을 선포하고 궁창이 그의 손으로 하신 일을 나타내는도다 [시편 19:1] 4월의 어느 오후, 수백 만의 사람들이 아주 드문 완전 개기일식을 보려고 멕시코와 미국을 가로지르는 궤적에 따라 모였습니다. 학교는 일찍 끝났고, 작은 마을들은 관광객을 맞아 활기를 띠었으며, 동네 사람들은 그 놀라운 광경을 보려고 보호 안경을 끼고는 집 앞 길가에 간이의자를 펴 놓았습니다. 방송취재진이 완전 개기일식이 되는 순간까지 카운트다운을 하는 동안 현장은 점점 조용해지면서 “오 주여!” 라는 한가지 탄성만이 계속 이어졌습니다. 그 말은 나에게 감동을 주었습니다. 사람들이 왜 그 순간 그런 표현을 하는지 정확히 알 수는 없지만, 유한한 인간이 어떤 희귀하고 놀라운 광경 앞에서 누군가 인정해 드릴 수밖에 없는 어떤 분, 감사를 드려야 할 어떤 분, 찬양을 드려야 할 어떤 분이 있어야 하는 것 같아 보였습니다. 우리가 천국을 바라볼 때 생기는 마음은 경외심입니다. 다윗은 기록했습니다. “하늘이 하나님의 영광을 선포하고 궁창이 그의 손으로 하신 일을 나타내는도다”(시편 19:1). 복음서를 기록한 누가는 예수님의 십자가에서의 마지막 순간을 이렇게 기록합니다. “때가 제 육 시쯤 되어 해가 빛을 잃고 온 땅에 어둠이 임하여 제 구시까지 계속하며 성소의 휘장이 한가운데가 찢어지더라”(23:44-45). 마태는 이 표적에 대한 사람들의 반응을 전합니다. “백부장과 및 함께 예수를 지키던 자들이 지진과 그 일어난 일들을 보고 심히 두려워하여 이르되 이는 진실로 하나님의 아들이었도다 하더라”(마태복음 27:54). 그들은 하나님을 경배 받기 합당하신 분으로 인정하지 않을 수 없었습니다. 나는 경외심을 가지고 겸손히 나의 하나님을 예배합니다.

44 It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon,

45 for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.

46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.

47 The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.”

48 When all the people who had gathered to witness this sight saw what took place, they beat their breasts and went away.

49 But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.

44 ○때가 제육시쯤 되어 해가 빛을 잃고 온 땅에 어둠이 임하여 제구시까지 계속하며

45 성소의 휘장이 한가운데가 찢어지더라

46 예수께서 큰 소리로 불러 이르시되 아버지 내 영혼을 아버지 손에 부탁하나이다 하고 이 말씀을 하신 후 숨지시니라

47 백부장이 그 된 일을 보고 하나님께 영광을 돌려 이르되 이 사람은 정녕 의인이었도다 하고

48 이를 구경하러 모인 무리도 그 된 일을 보고 다 가슴을 치며 돌아가고

49 예수를 아는 자들과 갈릴리로부터 따라온 여자들도 다 멀리 서서 이 일을 보니라
