CARING AND COMMUNION		보살핌과 성찬
[ 1 Corinthians 11:23 - 11:26 ] - hymn 228 This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me. [ 1 CORINTHIANS 11:25 ] When I broke my upper arm, my friend Rex surprised me by shipping a care box of frozen soups with a beautiful, silver ladle. I was deeply touched and kept the ladle long after consuming the soup. My arm has healed and dear Rex has since passed away, but his gesture of love continues to express God’s love for me. Every time I lift the ladle, I thank God for His love to me through my friend. Jesus gave us a tangible gift in the celebration of Communion to help us remember His incomparable love for us (LUKE 22:19). The apostle Paul reminded the Corinthians how Jesus broke bread, saying, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me” (1 CORINTHIANS 11:24). Then Christ “took the cup, saying, ‘The cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me’ ” (V. 25). God’s lavish love is remembered again and again as we take the bread and lift the cup as believers in Christ. Rex showed his love through the tangible gift of a care box, leaving a ladle to remind me month after month. Jesus loved us in the life-altering gift of His body sacrificed on the cross for our sins. He left us the practice of communion to remind us of His unchanging love. ELISA MORGAN		[ 고린도전서 11:23 - 11:26 ] - 찬송가 228 장 이 잔은 내 피로 세운 새 언약이니 이것을 마실 때마다 나를 기념하라 [고린도전서 11:25] 팔이 부러지는 부상을 당한 나에게 친구 렉스는 뜻밖에 간편식 냉동 수프 한 상자와 함께 아름다운 은색 국자를 보냈습니다. 깊이 감동했던 나는 수프를 다 먹은 후에도 그 국자를 오래 간직했습니다. 내 팔은 다 나았고 사랑하는 친구 렉스는 세상을 떠났지만 그의 따뜻한 마음은 언제나 나에 대한 하나님의 사랑을 느끼게 합니다. 그 국자를 쓸 때마다 친구를 통해 나에게 보여주신 하나님의 사랑에 감사하게 됩니다. 예수님은 비할 데 없는 그분의 사랑을 기억할 수 있도록 성찬 예식이라는 눈에 보이는 선물을 우리에게 남겨 주셨습니다(누가복음 22:19). 바울 사도는 예수님이 떡을 떼시며 “이것은 너희를 위한 내 몸이니 이것을 행하여 나를 기념하라”고 하신 말씀을 고린도의 성도들에게 상기시켰습니다(고린도전서 11:24). 이어서 예수님은 잔을 드시며 “이 잔은 내 피로 세운 새 언약이니 이것을 마실 때마다 나를 기념하라”고 말씀하셨습니다(25절). 예수님을 믿는 우리는 떡을 떼고 잔을 들 때마다 하나님의 풍성한 사랑을 언제나 되새길 수 있습니다. 간편식이라는 눈에 보이는 선물로 사랑을 표현한 렉스는 나에게 언제나 기억하도록 그 국자를 남겨놓았습니다. 예수님은 우리를 사랑하시사 우리 죄를 대신해 십자가에서 몸을 내어 주시는 선물로 우리의 삶을 바꾸어 놓으셨습니다. 그리고 성찬 예식을 우리에게 남겨 주시며 변함없는 그분의 사랑을 기억하게 하셨습니다.

Dear God, thank You for loving me so sacrificially and for leaving the tangible practice of Communion to remind me again and again of Your love.

23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread,
24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, 'This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.'
25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.'
26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

23 내가 너희에게 전한 것은 주께 받은 것이니 곧 주 예수께서 잡히시던 밤에 떡을 가지사
24 축사하시고 떼어 이르시되 이것은 너희를 위하는 내 몸이니 이것을 행하여 나를 기념하라 하시고
25 식후에 또한 그와 같이 잔을 가지시고 이르시되 이 잔은 내 피로 세운 새 언약이니 이것을 행하여 마실 때마다 나를 기념하라 하셨으니
26 너희가 이 떡을 먹으며 이 잔을 마실 때마다 주의 죽으심을 그가 오실 때까지 전하는 것이니라
