JESUS—OUR SUBSTITUTE		대신 죽으신 예수님
[ Hebrews 10:1 - 10:10 ] - hymn 149 We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. [ HEBREWS 10:10 ] As the US Civil War (1861-65) dragged on, both sides resorted to conscription (the draft) to fill their ranks. Under the Confederate law, a draftee could dodge service by hiring a man who was exempt from the draft to replace him—in most cases someone under or over the conscription age. Generally, the “principal” (as one evading the draft was called) paid a fee to the government as well as a large sum to his substitute. Only the wealthy could afford substitutes. The apostle Paul writes of the cosmic spiritual war, where “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (ROMANS 3:23) and “the wages of sin is death” (6:23). There was no clause or loophole that gave those with “means” some way out. But what about a substitute for us all? The writer to the Hebrews praises God, who in His infinite mercy sent Jesus to be our substitute—to bear the punishment our sin deserved, to pay our debt by sacrificing “the body of Jesus Christ once for all” so that we would be “made holy” through His substitutionary sacrifice (HEBREWS 10:10). We have “died with Christ,” and one day “we will also live with him” (ROMANS 6:8). That’s the good news right there. Christ died for you and for me; the substitute took our place. We’re now more than simply survivors of the war. We’ve become the sons and daughters of God. JOHN BLASE		[ 히브리서 10:1 - 10:10 ] - 찬송가 149 장 이 뜻을 따라 예수 그리스도의 몸을 단번에 드리심으로 말미암아 우리가 거룩함을 얻었노라 [히브리서 10:10] 미국 남북전쟁(1861-65)이 길어지면서 양측에서 모두 병력을 보충하기 위해 징병제를 실시했습니다. 남부연합의 법에 따르면 징집 대상자는 징집 면제자인 사람을 고용해 자신을 대신하게 함으로써 병역 의무를 피할 수가 있었습니다. 대부분의 경우 대리인은 징집 연령 미만자 아니면 초과자였습니다. 일반적으로 “의뢰인”(징집을 피하는 사람을 지칭)은 정부에 비용을 내야 했고 대리인에게도 상당한 금액을 지불해야 했습니다. 따라서 부유층만이 대리인을 고용할 수가 있었습니다. 바울 사도는 하늘에 속한 영적 전쟁에 대해 기록하기를 “모든 사람이 죄를 범하였으매 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못하였다”(로마서 3:23)고 하면서 “죄의 삯은 사망이라” 하였습니다(6:23). 여기에는 어떤 “수단”을 부릴 수 있는 자들에게 빠져나갈 길을 열어주는 조항이나 탈법의 여지가 없습니다. 그러나 우리 모두를 대신해 죽을 사람이 있다면 어떨까요? 히브리서 저자는 무한하신 자비로 예수님을 우리의 대속자로 보내신 하나님을 찬양합니다. 예수님께서는 우리의 죄로 치러야 할 벌을 대신 짊어지시고, “그리스도의 몸을 단번에” 희생하심으로써 우리의 빚을 갚으셨습니다. 그래서 우리는 예수님이 대신 돌아가심으로 “거룩함을 얻었습니다”(히브리서 10:10). 우리는 “그리스도와 함께 죽었으며”, 때가 이르면 또한 “그와 함께 살” 것입니다(로마서 6:8). 이것이 바로 복음입니다. 그리스도께서는 우리를 위하여 죽으셨습니다. 대속자 그분이 우리의 자리를 대신하였습니다. 이제 우리는 단순히 이 전쟁에서 살아남은 자가 아닙니다. 하나님의 아들과 딸이 되었습니다.

Dear Jesus, I praise You for being my substitute and securing for me life eternal.

1 The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.

2 Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins.

3 But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins.

4 It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

5 Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me;

6 with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased.

7 Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll— I have come to do your will, my God.’ ”

8 First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”—though they were offered in accordance with the law.

9 Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second.

10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

예수님이 우리를 대신해서 죽으셨다는 사실을 알 때에 어떤 생각이 듭니까?
이 복음을 친구에게 어떻게 설명하겠습니까?

사랑하는 예수님, 저의 대속자가 되어주시고 영원한 생명을 보장해 주심에 찬양을 올려드립니다.

1 율법은 장차 올 좋은 일의 그림자일 뿐이요 참 형상이 아니므로 해마다 늘 드리는 같은 제사로는 나아오는 자들을 언제나 온전하게 할 수 없느니라

2 그렇지 아니하면 섬기는 자들이 단번에 정결하게 되어 다시 죄를 깨닫는 일이 없으리니 어찌 제사 드리는 일을 그치지 아니하였으리요

3 그러나 이 제사들에는 해마다 죄를 기억하게 하는 것이 있나니

4 이는 황소와 염소의 피가 능히 죄를 없이 하지 못함이라

5 그러므로 주께서 세상에 임하실 때에 이르시되 하나님이 제사와 예물을 원하지 아니하시고 오직 나를 위하여 한 몸을 예비하셨도다

6 번제와 속죄제는 기뻐하지 아니하시나니

7 이에 내가 말하기를 하나님이여 보시옵소서 두루마리 책에 나를 가리켜 기록된 것과 같이 하나님의 뜻을 행하러 왔나이다 하셨느니라

8 위에 말씀하시기를 주께서는 제사와 예물과 번제와 속죄제는 원하지도 아니하고 기뻐하지도 아니하신다 하셨고 (이는 다 율법을 따라 드리는 것이라)

9 그 후에 말씀하시기를 보시옵소서 내가 하나님의 뜻을 행하러 왔나이다 하셨으니 그 첫째 것을 폐하심은 둘째 것을 세우려 하심이라

10 이 뜻을 따라 예수 그리스도의 몸을 단번에 드리심으로 말미암아 우리가 거룩함을 얻었노라
