LAVISH LOVE		풍성한 사랑
[ Leviticus 25:35 - 25:43 ] - hymn 197 If one of your fellow Israelites falls into poverty . . . allow him to live with you. [ LEVITICUS 25:35 nlt ] Todd invited his younger brother Alex, a recent college graduate, to come live with him in the house he’d built. He wanted to help his sibling gain some financial footing by allowing him to live rent-free for a while. After six months, Todd asked Alex to begin paying rent. Years later, Alex made an offer on his own home. When the offer was accepted, Todd surprised him by telling him that he’d deposited Alex’s rent payments in a savings account over the years and that the substantial sum of money was now his! Alex wept as he received the lavish gift. In Leviticus 25, God gave Moses commands for the Israelites that included allowing those in need “to live with you” (V. 35 NLT). This command was part of God enacting “a jubilee year”(V. 10 NLT)—when debts were forgiven, those in poverty were helped, and the enslaved were freed (VV. 23-55). He declared that He’d lovingly led His people “out of Egypt to give [them] the land of Canaan and to be [their] God” (V. 38). He’d provided a new homeland, and now they were to imitate Him by showing love and opening their homes to others. The apostle John would later write, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” (1 JOHN 3:1). By Jesus’ sacrifice we can receive the fullness of that lavish love (V. 16). And as He helps us, we can lavish it on others. [레위기 25:35, 현대인의 성경] 토드는 얼마전 대학을 졸업한 동생 알렉스를 자기가 지은 집으로 불러 함께 살게 했습니다. 그는 동생이 한 동안 집세를 내지 않고 살면서 경제적 기반을 마련하도록 돕고 싶었습니다. 여섯 달 뒤 토드는 알렉스에게 이제부터는 집세를 조금씩 내라고 했습니다. 이렇게 몇 년이 지나 알렉스는 이제 자기의 집을 계약하게 되었고, 계약이 성사되자 토드는 그동안 알렉스가 낸 집세를 은행에 예금해 두었다가, 그 적지 않은 돈이 이제 알렉스의 것이라고 하여 그를 놀라게 했습니다! 알렉스는 그 풍성한 선물을 받고 눈물을 흘렸습니다. 레위기 25장에서 하나님은 모세를 통해서 이스라엘 백성에게 어려운 사람들을 “한 집에 데리고 살아라”(35절, 현대인의 성경)는 명령을 주셨습니다. 이 명령은 하나님께서 “희년”을 시행하는 한 가지 방법이었습니다(10절). 희년에는 빚이 탕감되고, 가난한 자가 도움을 받으며, 노예가 해방되었습니다(23-55절). 하나님은 사랑으로 “[그들의] 하나님이 되며 또 가나안 땅을 [그들에게] 주려고 애굽 땅에서 [그들을] 인도하여 내셨다”고 선언하셨습니다(38절). 하나님이 새로 살 곳을 주셨으니 이제는 그들도 하나님이 하신 것처럼 사람들에게 사랑을 베풀고 집을 열어 환대하라는 것이었습니다. 요한 사도는 나중에 이렇게 썼습니다. “보라 아버지께서 어떠한 사랑을 우리에게 베푸사 하나님의 자녀라 일컬음을 받게 하셨는가”(요한1서 3:1). 예수님의 희생으로 우리는 그 풍성한 사랑을 온전히 받을 수 있습니다(16절). 그리고 예수님의 도우심으로 그 받은 사랑을 다른 이들에게 풍성히 줄 수 있습니다.

35 If any of your fellow Israelites become poor and are unable to support themselves among you, help them as you would a foreigner and stranger, so they can continue to live among you.

36 Do not take interest or any profit from them, but fear your God, so that they may continue to live among you.

37 You must not lend them money at interest or sell them food at a profit.

38 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan and to be your God.

39 If any of your fellow Israelites become poor and sell themselves to you, do not make them work as slaves.

40 They are to be treated as hired workers or temporary residents among you; they are to work for you until the Year of Jubilee.

41 Then they and their children are to be released, and they will go back to their own clans and to the property of their ancestors.

42 Because the Israelites are my servants, whom I brought out of Egypt, they must not be sold as slaves.

43 Do not rule over them ruthlessly, but fear your God.

하나님의 풍성한 사랑을 어떻게 경험해 보셨습니까?
그 사랑을 다른 이들에게 어떻게 전할 수 있을까요?

사랑의 하나님, 주님의 놀랍고 풍성한 사랑을 다른 사람들에게 부어 줄 수 있게 도와주소서.

35 ○네 형제가 가난하게 되어 빈 손으로 네 곁에 있거든 너는 그를 도와 거류민이나 동거인처럼 너와 함께 생활하게 하되

36 너는 그에게 이자를 받지 말고 네 하나님을 경외하여 네 형제로 너와 함께 생활하게 할 것인즉

37 너는 그에게 이자를 위하여 돈을 꾸어 주지 말고 이익을 위하여 네 양식을 꾸어 주지 말라

38 나는 너희의 하나님이 되며 또 가나안 땅을 너희에게 주려고 애굽 땅에서 너희를 인도하여 낸 너희의 하나님 여호와이니라

39 ○너와 함께 있는 네 형제가 가난하게 되어 네게 몸이 팔리거든 너는 그를 종으로 부리지 말고

40 품꾼이나 동거인과 같이 함께 있게 하여 희년까지 너를 섬기게 하라

41 그 때에는 그와 그의 자녀가 함께 네게서 떠나 그의 가족과 그의 조상의 기업으로 돌아가게 하라

42 그들은 내가 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 낸 내 종들이니 종으로 팔지 말 것이라

43 너는 그를 엄하게 부리지 말고 네 하나님을 경외하라
