UNFORGETTABLE LESSONS		잊을 수 없는 교훈
[ Proverbs 3:1 - 3:12 ] - hymn 552 My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart. [ PROVERBS 3:1 ] Corey Brooks—“The Rooftop Pastor”—spent 343 days living on the rooftop of his church on Chicago’s south side to inspire community transformation. Online, Brooks posted a “shout-out” to his elementary school teacher Joe Stokes, who taught him four unforgettable lessons: the power of persever-ance, the importance of integrity, the value of community engagement, and the impact of education. By embracing Solomon’s wisdom in Proverbs 3, we likewise can strive to live in ways that have community impact. Solomon taught four lessons that are just right for those who trust in God and are called to be a positive force: “Trust in the Lord” (V. 5); “fear the Lord and shun evil” (V. 7); “honor the Lord with your wealth” (V. 9); “do not despise the Lord’s discipline” (V. 11). Such wisdom compels us to be God-focused, but there are people-touching dimensions to our faith too. In Matthew 5:3-12, Jesus, the ultimate embodiment of wisdom, eloquently described the internal disposition of believers in Jesus. Furthermore, He reminded them that they were high-impact people. “You are the salt of the earth” (V. 13). “You are the light of the world” (V. 14). As such, we are honored to “Let [our] light shine... that they may see [our] good deeds and glorify [our] Father in heaven” (V. 16). ARTHUR JACKSON		[ 잠언 3:1 - 3:12 ] - 찬송가 552 장 내 아들아 나의 법을 잊어버리지 말고 네 마음으로 나의 명령을 지키라 [잠언 3:1] “옥상 위의 목사”로 불리는 코리 브룩스 목사는 지역사회의 변화를 이끌기 위해 시카고 남쪽에 있는 교회 옥상에서 343일 동안을 생활 하며 지냈습니다. 브룩스 목사는 자기에게 잊을 수 없는 4가지 교훈을 가르쳐 준 초등학교 은사 조 스톡스에게 온라인으로 감사의 인사를 올렸습니다. 그 교훈은 인내의 힘, 정직의 중요성, 지역사회 참여의 가치, 그리고 교육의 영향 이었습니다. 잠언 3장에 나오는 솔로몬의 지혜를 가진다면, 우리도 지역사회에 영향을 미치며 살 수 있습니다. 솔로몬은 하나님을 신뢰하고 긍정적인 영향력을 끼치도록 부름받은 사람들을 위해 네 가지 교훈을 가르쳤습니다.ㅍ “여호와를 신뢰하라” (5절), “여호와를 경외하며 악을 떠날지어다”(7절), “네 재물로 여호와를 공경하라” (9절), “여호와의 징계를 경히 여기지 말라”(11절). 이 지혜의 말씀들은 우리를 하나님 중심의 삶을 살도록 이끌 뿐 아니라, 우리의 믿음이 사람들에게 영향을 미치도록 만드는 측면도 있습니다. 마태복음 5:3-12에서 지혜의 궁극적인 구현이신 예수님은 그를 믿는 사람들의 내면의 자세에 대해 정확히 말씀하셨습니다. 예수님은 이에 더하여 그들은 영향력이 큰 사람이라고 하셨습니다. “너희는 세상의 소금이라”(13절). “너희는 세상의 빛이라”(14절)고 하셨습니다. 이 말씀처럼 우리에게는 “[우리의] 빛을 비치게 하여... 사람들이 [우리의] 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 [우리의] 아버지께 영광을 돌리게”(16절) 하는 귀한 사명이 있습니다.

Heavenly Father, please forgive me for my failure to honor You fully.
Renew my heart through Your words today.

1 My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,

2 for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.

3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.

4 Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.

8 This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

9 Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;

10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

11 My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline, and do not resent his rebuke,

12 because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.

당신에게 있어 사람들에게 감동을 주면서 하나님께도 영광을 돌리게 만드는 사람은 누구입니까?
잊고 있었던 성경의 교훈을 어떻게 다시 되새길 수 있을까요??

하나님 아버지, 하나님께 온전히 영광을 돌리지 못하는 저를 용서해 주소서.
오늘 하나님의 말씀으로 제 마음을 새롭게 하소서.

1 내 아들아 나의 법을 잊어버리지 말고 네 마음으로 나의 명령을 지키라

2 그리하면 그것이 네가 장수하여 많은 해를 누리게 하며 평강을 더하게 하리라

3 인자와 진리가 네게서 떠나지 말게 하고 그것을 네 목에 매며 네 마음판에 새기라

4 그리하면 네가 하나님과 사람 앞에서 은총과 귀중히 여김을 받으리라

5 너는 마음을 다하여 여호와를 신뢰하고 네 명철을 의지하지 말라

6 너는 범사에 그를 인정하라 그리하면 네 길을 지도하시리라

7 스스로 지혜롭게 여기지 말지어다 여호와를 경외하며 악을 떠날지어다

8 이것이 네 몸에 양약이 되어 네 골수를 윤택하게 하리라

9 네 재물과 네 소산물의 처음 익은 열매로 여호와를 공경하라

10 그리하면 네 창고가 가득히 차고 네 포도즙 틀에 새 포도즙이 넘치리라

11 ○내 아들아 여호와의 징계를 경히 여기지 말라 그 꾸지람을 싫어하지 말라

12 대저 여호와께서 그 사랑하시는 자를 징계하시기를 마치 아비가 그 기뻐하는 아들을 징계함 같이 하시느니라
