RESTORATION EFFORTS		복원을 위한 노력
[ Ezra 2:68 - 3:7 ] - hymn 420 Encourage one another and build each other up. [ 1 THESSALONIANS 5:11 ] In April 2019, a fire broke out in Notre-Dame de Paris—the city’s famed medieval cathedral—destroying the spire and a “forest” of oak beams supporting the lead roof. Almost imme-diately, plans formed to restore the cathedral. Donations poured in from across the globe and craftsmen have undertaken resto-ration using the same building techniques and the same types of timber and stone employed in the original structure. When Nebuchadnezzar instructed his armies to set fire to God’s temple in 586 bc as part of his siege on Jerusalem, the structure was decimated (2 KINGS 25:9). When the people returned to Jerusalem after decades in captivity in Babylon, they “gave freewill offerings toward the rebuilding of the house of God” (EZRA 2:68). After tending first to the altar, they “gave money to the masons and carpenters” and secured “cedar logs by sea from Lebanon” to lay the temple’s foundation (3:7). Though their rebuilding efforts were opposed and even sabotaged, the task was finally completed, and God’s people once again worshiped Him in His temple (6:14-22). As believers in Jesus, we—together—are God’s tem-ple (1 CORINTHIANS 3:16-17). God equips us to continuously restore fellow believers and “build each other up,” not with wood or stone, but with encouraging words, prayer, and spiritual gifts (1 THESSALONIANS 5:11). 68 When they arrived at the house of the LORD in Jerusalem, some of the heads of the families gave freewill offerings toward the rebuilding of the house of God on its site.

1 When the seventh month came and the Israelites had settled in their towns, the people assembled together as one in Jerusalem.

3 Despite their fear of the peoples around them, they built the altar on its foundation and sacrificed burnt offerings on it to the LORD, both the morning and evening sacrifices.

4 Then in accordance with what is written, they celebrated the Festival of Tabernacles with the required number of burnt offerings prescribed for each day.

5 After that, they presented the regular burnt offerings, the New Moon sacrifices and the sacrifices for all the appointed sacred festivals of the LORD, as well as those brought as freewill offerings to the LORD.

6 On the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to the LORD, though the foundation of the LORD's temple had not yet been laid.

7 Then they gave money to the masons and carpenters, and gave food and drink and olive oil to the people of Sidon and Tyre, so that they would bring cedar logs by sea from Lebanon to Joppa, as authorized by Cyrus king of Persia.

사랑의 하나님 아버지, 우리가 서로 하나님의 성전으로 세워지고 회복하는 데 필요한 것을 주셔서 감사합니다.

68 ○어떤 족장들이 예루살렘에 있는 여호와의 성전 터에 이르러 하나님의 전을 그 곳에 다시 건축하려고 예물을 기쁘게 드리되

1 이스라엘 자손이 각자의 성읍에 살았더니 일곱째 달에 이르러 일제히 예루살렘에 모인지라

3 무리가 모든 나라 백성을 두려워하여 제단을 그 터에 세우고 그 위에서 아침 저녁으로 여호와께 번제를 드리며

4 기록된 규례대로 초막절을 지켜 번제를 매일 정수대로 날마다 드리고

5 그 후에는 항상 드리는 번제와 초하루와 여호와의 모든 거룩한 절기의 번제와 사람이 여호와께 기쁘게 드리는 예물을 드리되

6 일곱째 달 초하루부터 비로소 여호와께 번제를 드렸으나 그 때에 여호와의 성전 지대는 미처 놓지 못한지라

7 이에 석수와 목수에게 돈을 주고 또 시돈 사람과 두로 사람에게 먹을 것과 마실 것과 기름을 주고 바사 왕 고레스의 명령대로 백향목을 레바논에서 욥바 해변까지 운송하게 하였더라
