Who is God like?

The first psalm is a song of rejoicing. The poet declared that in order to rejoice, one had to first turn away from the counsel of the wicked, a life of sinfulness, and arrogance. While these things could lead to momentary success, they take away from our happiness. True joy comes from loving and meditating on God’s Word and making it the standard of our lives. Those who are rooted in the Word are like evergreen trees planted by streams of water; they choose the proper path. In contrast, the wicked are like the chaff that the wind drives away; they will be uprooted and will not stand in the day of judgement but be destroyed.
시편의 첫 시는 참된 행복을 노래합니다. 시인은 행복을 위해 먼저 버려야 할 것으로 악인의 사고방식, 죄인의 삶, 오만한 마음을 말합니다. 이런 길은 잠시 성공을 줄 수 있어도 결국 행복을 잃게 합니다. 참된 행복은 하나님의 말씀을 사랑하고 묵상하며 삶의 기준으로 삼는 데 있습니다. 말씀에 뿌리내린 사람은 시냇가에 심긴 나무처럼 늘 푸르고 바른길을 선택합니다. 반면 악인은 바람에 흩날리는 쭉정이처럼 흔들리며 결국 심판 날에 서지 못하고 멸망하게 됩니다.

Who is God?
V. 6 God acknowledges those who live pursuing righteousness. Living righteously by following the Word is as tough and uncomfortable as walking down a narrow and dangerous path. However, this path ultimately leads to life (Matt. 7:14). At the end of that path, God will reward us with praise, reward, and acknowledgement that will more than sufficiently make up for all that suffering.
의로움을 추구한 삶을 인정해 주십니다. 말씀을 따라 의로운 삶을 사는 일은 좁은 길로 가는 것처럼 불편하고, 험한 길을 걷는 것처럼 고됩니다. 그렇지만 그 길 끝에는 생명이 있습니다(마 7:14). 하나님이 그 길 끝에서 모든 고생을 덮고도 남을 인정과 칭찬과 보상을 주실 것입니다.
