1Ah, you destroyer, who yourself have not been destroyed, you traitor, whom none has betrayed! When you have ceased to destroy, you will be destroyed; and when you have finished betraying, they will betray you. 2 O LORD, be gracious to us; we wait for you. Be our arm every morning, our salvation in the time of trouble. 3 At the tumultuous noise peoples flee; when you lift yourself up, nations are scattered, 4 and your spoil is gathered as the caterpillar gathers; as locusts leap, it is leapt upon. 5 The LORD is exalted, for he dwells on high; he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness, 6 and he will be the stability of your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is Zion's treasure. 7 Behold, their heroes cry in the streets; the envoys of peace weep bitterly. 8 The highways lie waste; the traveler ceases. Covenants are broken; cities are despised; there is no regard for man. 9 The land mourns and languishes; Lebanon is confounded and withers away; Sharon is like a desert, and Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves. 10 “Now I will arise,” says the LORD, “now I will lift myself up; now I will be exalted. 11 You conceive chaff; you give birth to stubble; your breath is a fire that will consume you. 12 And the peoples will be as if burned to lime, like thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire.” 13 Hear, you who are far off, what I have done; and you who are near, acknowledge my might. 14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling has seized the godless: “Who among us can dwell with the consuming fire? Who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings?” 15 He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking on evil, 16 he will dwell on the heights; his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks; his bread will be given him; his water will be sure. 17 Your eyes will behold the king in his beauty; they will see a land that stretches afar. 18 Your heart will muse on the terror: “Where is he who counted, where is he who weighed the tribute? Where is he who counted the towers?” 19 You will see no more the insolent people, the people of an obscure speech that you cannot comprehend, stammering in a tongue that you cannot understand. 20 Behold Zion, the city of our appointed feasts! Your eyes will see Jerusalem, an untroubled habitation, an immovable tent, whose stakes will never be plucked up, nor will any of its cords be broken. 21 But there the LORD in majesty will be for us a place of broad rivers and streams, where no galley with oars can go, nor majestic ship can pass. 22 For the LORD is our judge; the LORD is our lawgiver; the LORD is our king; he will save us. 23 Your cords hang loose; they cannot hold the mast firm in its place or keep the sail spread out. Then prey and spoil in abundance will be divided; even the lame will take the prey. 24 And no inhabitant will say, “I am sick”; the people who dwell there will be forgiven their iniquity.
1약탈 한 번 당하지 않고, 남을 약탈하기만 한 자야, 너에게 재앙이 닥칠 것이다. 배반 한 번 당하지 않고, 남을 배반하기만 한 자야, 너에게 재앙이 닥칠 것이다. 너의 약탈이 끝나면, 이제 네가 약탈을 당할 것이며, 너의 배반이 끝나면, 이제 네가 배반을 당할 것이다. 2 주님, 우리에게 은혜를 베풀어 주십시오. 우리가 주님을 기다립니다. 아침마다 우리의 능력이 되어 주시고, 어려울 때에 우리의 구원이 되어 주십시오. 3 주님의 우렁찬 소리에 백성이 도망치며, 주님께서 일어나셔서 우리 편이 되어 싸우시니, 민족들이 흩어집니다. 4 민족들아, 사람들이 황충이 떼처럼 몰려들어서, 너희가 약탈한 전리품을 빼앗을 것이다. 메뚜기 떼가 뛰어오르듯, 사람들이 그 탈취물 위에 달려들 것이다. 5 주님은 참으로 위대하시다! 저 높은 곳에 계시면서도, 시온을 공평과 의로 충만하게 하실 것이다. 6 주님께서 너로 안정된 시대를 누리게 하실 것이다. 주님께서 늘 백성을 구원하시고, 지혜와 지식을 주신다. 주님을 경외하는 것이 가장 귀중한 보배다. 7 용사들이 거리에서 살려 달라고 울부짖고, 평화협상에 나섰던 사절이 슬피 운다. 8 큰길마다 위험하여 행인이 끊기며, 적이 평화조약을 파기하며, 증인들이 경멸을 받으며, 아무도 존경을 받지 못한다. 9 땅이 통곡하고 고달파 하며, 레바논이 부끄러워하고 메마르며, 샤론은 아라바 사막과 같으며, 바산과 갈멜은 나뭇잎이 모조리 떨어진다. 10 주님께서 말씀하신다. “이제는 내가 활동을 시작하겠다. 이제는 내가 일어나서, 나의 권능이 얼마나 큰지를 나타내 보이겠다. 11 너희는 겨를 잉태하여 지푸라기를 낳는다. 너희는 제 꾀에 속아 넘어간다. 12 뭇 민족은 불에 탄 석회같이 되며, 찍어다가 태우는 가시덤불같이 될 것이다. 13 너희 먼 곳에 있는 자들아, 내가 무슨 일을 하였는지 들어 보아라! 너희 가까운 곳에 있는 자들아, 나의 권능을 깨달아라!” 14 시온에서는 죄인들이 공포에 떨고 경건하지 않은 자들이 두려움에 사로잡힌다. “우리들 가운데 누가 사르는 불을 견디어 내겠는가? 우리들 가운데 누가 꺼지지 않는 불덩이를 견디어 내겠는가?” 하고 말한다. 15 의롭게 사는 사람, 정직하게 말하는 사람, 권세를 부려 가난한 사람의 재산을 착취하는 일은 아예 생각하지도 않는 사람, 뇌물을 거절하는 사람, 살인자의 음모에 귀를 막는 사람, 악을 꾀하는 것을 보지 않으려고 눈을 감는 사람, 16 바로 이런 사람들이 안전한 곳에 산다. 돌로 쌓은 견고한 산성이 그의 은신처가 될 것이다. 먹거리가 끊어지지 않고, 마실 물이 떨어지지 않는다. 17 네가 다시 한 번 왕의 장엄한 모습을 볼 것이며, 백성은 사방으로 확장된 영토를 볼 것이다. 18 너는 지난날 무서웠던 일들을 돌이켜보며, 격세지감을 느낄 것이다. 서슬이 시퍼렇던 이방인 총독, 가혹하게 세금을 물리고, 무리하게 재물을 빼앗던 이방인 세금 징수관들, 늘 너의 뒤를 밟으며 감시하던 정보원들, 모두 옛날이야기가 될 것이다. 19 악한 백성, 곧 네가 알아듣지 못하는 언어로 말을 하며 이해할 수도 없는 언어로 말하던 그 악한 이방인을, 다시는 더 보지 않을 것이다. 20 우리가 마음껏 절기를 지킬 수 있는 우리의 도성 시온을 보아라. 옮겨지지 않을 장막, 예루살렘을 보아라. 우리가 살기에 얼마나 안락한 곳인가? 다시는 옮겨지지 않을 장막과도 같다. 그 말뚝이 영원히 뽑히지 않을 것이며, 그 줄이 하나도 끊어지지 않을 것이다. 21 거기에서는 주님께서 우리의 능력이 되시니, 그 곳은 마치 드넓은 강과 시내가 흐르는 곳 같겠지만, 대적의 배가 그리로 오지 못하고, 적군의 군함이 들어올 엄두도 못 낼 것이다. 22 주님께서는 우리의 재판관이시며, 주님께서는 우리에게 법을 세워 주시는 분이시며, 주님께서는 우리의 왕이시니, 우리를 구원하실 분이시다. 23 그리로 들어오는 배마다, 돛대 줄이 느슨하여 돛대를 똑바로 세우지 못하고, 돛을 펴지도 못할 것이다. 우리는 많은 탈취물을 얻을 것이다. 다리를 저는 사람들까지도 많이 탈취할 것이다. 24 거기에서는 아무도 “내가 병들었다”고 말하지 않겠고, 거기에서 사는 백성은 죄를 용서받을 것이다.
