Who is God like?

The poet sought refuge in God in the face of the threat of his enemies, like a bird fleeing from hunters. But people advised him to use other means to avoid the danger. However, the poet did not follow their advice because he believed that God was watching everything from his throne in heaven. Since God despised evil and loved righteousness, he would judge the wicked and be gracious to the righteous. So, the poet refused to depart from God’s path to avoid the danger.
시인은 사냥꾼의 표적이 된 새처럼 악인의 위협 속에서 하나님께 피하지만, 주변 사람들은 하나님이 아닌 다른 방법으로 위기를 피하라고 말합니다. 그러나 시인은 하나님이 하늘 보좌에서 모든 것을 보고 계심을 믿기에 그 말을 따르지 않습니다. 하나님은 악을 미워하시고 의를 사랑하시므로, 악인은 심판하시고 의인에게는 은혜를 베푸십니다. 그래서 시인은 위기를 피하려고 하나님의 길을 버리는 선택을 하지 않습니다.

Who is God?
Vv. 4-7 God watches over all people with eyes like fire. He sees the injustices in the world and the suffering of the righteous, and he repays each person according to their deeds. Therefore, those who fear God, who watches over all things from heaven, rather than the visible powers in this world, and behave righteously before God, are truly blessed.
하늘에서 불꽃같은 눈으로 모든 인생을 감찰하십니다. 불의한 인생도, 의인의 곧은길도 모두 살피시고 각 사람의 행위대로 공의롭게 갚아 주십니다. 그렇기에 눈에 보이는 권력이 아니라, 하늘에서 감찰하시는 분을 두려워하며 그분 앞에 정직히 행하는 것이 복된 삶입니다.
