Who is God like?

The poet pleaded with God to help him during affliction and to hear his prayers if he worshipped God because God’s righteousness meant that he protected his people. He lamented over the rich and powerful, who served idols and put God’s glory to shame. He urged them to stop their sinning and repent, then rely only on God instead of idols, knowing that God heard their prayers. The poet knew that true blessing lay in God, and he sought God’s grace, joy and peace.
시인은 하나님을 예배하며 자신이 곤경에 처하면 도와주시고, 기도하면 들어 달라고 간청합니다. 자기 백성을 보살피는 것이 하나님의 의로움이기 때문입니다. 그러나 시인은 부와 권력을 가진 자들이 우상을 섬기며 하나님의 영광을 욕되게 하는 모습을 보며 한탄합니다. 그들에게 하나님이 기도를 들으시는 분임을 알고, 죄를 멈추고 회개하며, 우상이 아닌 하나님을 의지하라고 권면합니다. 시인은 참된 복이 하나님께 있음을 알고, 하나님이 주시는 기쁨과 평안을 누리며 그분의 은혜를 구합니다.

V. 1 He is the God of Righteousness. He is the righteous judge who is faithful to his covenants. For the sake of his righteousness, he does not neglect us. He reveals his righteousness by protecting us and hearing our prayers. When the God of Righteousness reveals his face, all things will be completely turned around.
의의 하나님이십니다. 하나님이 의로우신 재판장이며 언약에 신실하신 분이라는 뜻입니다. 하나님은 자신의 의로움을 지키기 위해 우리를 방치하지 않으십니다. 하나님은 우리를 보호하시고 우리의 기도에 귀 기울이심으로 자신의 의로움을 드러내십니다. 의의 하나님이 그 얼굴을 비추시는 날, 모든 상황은 역전될 것입니다.
