1Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day: 2 “That the leaders took the lead in Israel, that the people offered themselves willingly, bless the LORD! 3 “Hear, O kings; give ear, O princes; to the LORD I will sing; I will make melody to the LORD, the God of Israel. 4 “LORD, when you went out from Seir, when you marched from the region of Edom, the earth trembled and the heavens dropped, yes, the clouds dropped water. 5 The mountains quaked before the LORD, even Sinai before the LORD, the God of Israel. 6 “In the days of Shamgar, son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were abandoned, and travelers kept to the byways. 7 The villagers ceased in Israel; they ceased to be until I arose; I, Deborah, arose as a mother in Israel. 8 When new gods were chosen, then war was in the gates. Was shield or spear to be seen among forty thousand in Israel? 9 My heart goes out to the commanders of Israel who offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless the LORD. 10 “Tell of it, you who ride on white donkeys, you who sit on rich carpets and you who walk by the way. 11 To the sound of musicians at the watering places, there they repeat the righteous triumphs of the LORD, the righteous triumphs of his villagers in Israel. “Then down to the gates marched the people of the LORD. 12 “Awake, awake, Deborah! Awake, awake, break out in a song! Arise, Barak, lead away your captives, O son of Abinoam. 13 Then down marched the remnant of the noble; the people of the LORD marched down for me against the mighty. 14 From Ephraim their root they marched down into the valley, following you, Benjamin, with your kinsmen; from Machir marched down the commanders, and from Zebulun those who bear the lieutenant’s staff; 15 the princes of Issachar came with Deborah, and Issachar faithful to Barak; into the valley they rushed at his heels. Among the clans of Reuben there were great searchings of heart. 16 Why did you sit still among the sheepfolds, to hear the whistling for the flocks? Among the clans of Reuben there were great searchings of heart. 17 Gilead stayed beyond the Jordan; and Dan, why did he stay with the ships? Asher sat still at the coast of the sea, staying by his landings. 18 Zebulun is a people who risked their lives to the death; Naphtali, too, on the heights of the field.
1그 날 드보라와 아비노암의 아들 바락이 이런 노래를 불렀다. 2 이스라엘의 영도자들은 앞장서서 이끌고, 백성은 기꺼이 헌신하니, 주님을 찬양하여라. 3 너희 왕들아, 들어라. 너희 통치자들아, 귀를 기울여라. 나 곧 내가 주님을 노래하련다. 주 이스라엘의 하나님을 찬양하련다. 4 주님, 주님께서 세일에서 나오실 때에, 주님께서 에돔 땅에서 출동하실 때에, 땅은 흔들리고, 하늘은 물을 쏟아내고, 구름은 비를 쏟았습니다. 5 산들이 주님 앞에서 진동하였고, 저 시내 산마저, 주 이스라엘의 하나님 앞에서 진동하였습니다. 6 아낫의 아들 삼갈 때에도, 야엘 때에도, 큰길에는 발길이 끊어지고, 길손들은 뒷길로 다녔다. 7 나 드보라가 일어나기까지, 이스라엘의 어머니인 내가 일어나기까지, 이스라엘에서는 용사가 끊어졌다. 8 그들이 새 신들을 택하였을 때에, 성문에 전쟁이 들이닥쳤는데, 사만 명 이스라엘 군인 가운데 방패와 창을 가진 사람이 보였던가? 9 나의 마음이 이스라엘의 지휘관들에게 쏠렸다. 그들은 백성 가운데서 자원하여 나선 용사들이다. 너희는 주님을 찬양하여라. 10 흰 나귀를 타고 다니는 사람들아, 양탄자를 깔고 사는 사람들아, 길을 걸어가는 행인들아, 사람들에게 전하여라. 11 물 긷는 이들 사이에서 들리는 소리, 활 쏘는 사람들의 요란한 저 소리, 거기서도 주님의 의로운 업적을 들어 말하여라. 이스라엘 용사들의 의로운 업적을 들어 말하여라. 그 때에 주님의 백성이 성읍으로 들어가려고 성문께로 내려갔다. 12 일어나라, 일어나라, 드보라야. 일어나라, 일어나서 노래를 불러라. 일어나라, 바락아. 포로들을 끌고 가거라, 아비노암의 아들아. 13 그 때에 살아남은 이들이 백성의 지도자들과 더불어 내려왔고, 주님께서 나를 도우시려고 용사들 가운데 내려오셨다. 14 에브라임에게서는 아말렉에 뿌리를 내린 사람들이 내려오고, 베냐민의 뒤를 이어서는 너의 백성이 내려오고, 마길에서는 지휘관들이 내려오고 스불론에서는 지휘봉 잡은 이들이 내려왔다. 15 잇사갈의 지도자들이 드보라와 합세하고, 잇사갈과 바락도 이에 합세하여, 그의 뒤를 따라 골짜기로 달려갔다. 그러나 르우벤 지파 가운데서는 마음에 큰 반성이 있었다. 16 어찌하여 네가 양의 우리에 앉아, 양 떼를 부르는 피리 소리나 듣고 있는가? 르우벤 지파에서는 마음에 큰 반성을 하였다. 17 어찌하여 길르앗은 요단 강 건너에 자리잡고 있고, 어찌하여 단은 배 안에 머물러 있는가? 어찌하여 아셀은 바닷가에 앉아 있는가? 또 그 부둣가에서 편히 쉬고 있는가? 18 스불론은 죽음을 무릅쓰고 생명을 아끼지 않고 싸운 백성이요, 납달리도 들판 언덕 위에서 그렇게 싸운 백성이다.
