[ 2 Chronicles 3:1 - 3:17 ] (Hymn266)

1Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to David his father, at the place that David had appointed, on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
2 He began to build in the second month of the fourth year of his reign.
3 These are Solomon's measurements for building the house of God: the length, in cubits of the old standard, was sixty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.
4 The vestibule in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits long, equal to the width of the house, and its height was120 cubits. He overlaid it on the inside with pure gold.
5 The nave he lined with cypress and covered it with fine gold and made palms and chains on it.
6 He adorned the house with settings of precious stones. The gold was gold of Parvaim.
7 So he lined the house with gold—its beams, its thresholds, its walls, and its doors—and he carved cherubim on the walls.
8 And he made the Most Holy Place. Its length, corresponding to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and its breadth was twenty cubits. He overlaid it with600 talents of fine gold.
9 The weight of gold for the nails was fifty shekels. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.
10 In the Most Holy Place he made two cherubim of wood and overlaid them with gold.
11 The wings of the cherubim together extended twenty cubits: one wing of the one, of five cubits, touched the wall of the house, and its other wing, of five cubits, touched the wing of the other cherub;
12 and of this cherub, one wing, of five cubits, touched the wall of the house, and the other wing, also of five cubits, was joined to the wing of the first cherub.
13 The wings of these cherubim extended twenty cubits. The cherubim stood on their feet, facing the nave.
14 And he made the veil of blue and purple and crimson fabrics and fine linen, and he worked cherubim on it.
15 In front of the house he made two pillars thirty-five cubits high, with a capital of five cubits on the top of each.
16 He made chains like a necklace and put them on the tops of the pillars, and he made a hundred pomegranates and put them on the chains.
17 He set up the pillars in front of the temple, one on the south, the other on the north; that on the south he called Jachin, and that on the north Boaz.

1솔로몬은 예루살렘 모리아 산에 주님의 성전을 짓기 시작하였다. 그 곳은 주님께서 그의 아버지 다윗에게 나타나셨던 곳이다. 본래는 여부스 사람 오르난의 타작마당으로 쓰던 곳인데 다윗이 그 곳을 성전 터로 잡아놓았다.
2 성전을 짓기 시작한 때는, 솔로몬이 왕위에 오른 지 사 년째 되는 해 둘째 달 초이틀이었다.
3 솔로몬이 짓는 하나님의 성전의 규모는 다음과 같다. 옛날에 쓰던 자로, 성전의 길이가 예순 자, 너비가 스무 자이다.
4 성전 앞 현관은 길이가 성전의 너비와 같이 스무 자이고, 높이는 백스무 자인데, 현관 안벽은 순금으로 입혔다.
5 솔로몬은 또 본당 안벽에 잣나무 판자를 대고, 순금을 입히고, 그 위에 종려나무 가지와 사슬 모양을 새겼다.
6 그는 보석으로 성전을 꾸며서 화려하게 하였는데, 그 금은 바르와임에서 들여온 금이다.
7 그는 성전 안의 들보와 문지방과 벽과 문짝에 금박을 입히고, 벽에는 그룹들을 아로새겼다.
8 그는 또 지성소를 지었다. 그 길이는 성전의 너비와 같이 스무 자이고, 너비도 스무 자이다. 육백 달란트의 순금 금박을 내부에 입혔다.
9 못의 무게만 하여도 금 오십 세겔이 나갔다. 다락에 있는 방들도 금으로 입혔다.
10 그는 지성소 안에 두 개의 그룹 형상을 만들어 놓고, 금으로 입혔다.
11 두 그룹이 날개를 편 길이를 서로 연결시키면 스무 자이다. 첫째 그룹의 한쪽 날개 길이는 다섯 자인데, 그 끝이 성전 벽에 닿고, 다른 쪽 날개 역시 그 길이가 다섯 자인데, 그것은 다른 그룹의 날개에 닿았다.
12 둘째 그룹의 한쪽 날개 길이 역시 다섯 자인데, 그 끝이 성전 벽에 닿고, 다른 쪽 날개 역시 그 길이가 다섯 자인데, 그것은 첫 번째 그룹의 날개에 닿았다.
13 이 그룹들이 날개를 편 길이를 서로 연결시키면 스무 자이다. 그룹들은 성전 본관 쪽을 바라보고 서 있었다.
14 그는 또 청색 실과 자주색 실과 홍색 실과 가는 베로 휘장을 짜고, 그 위에 그룹들의 모양을 수놓았다.
15 성전 앞에는 높이 서른다섯 자짜리 기둥들을 세우고, 그것들의 꼭대기에는 다섯 자 높이의 기둥머리를 얹었다.
16 그는 또 목걸이 모양의 사슬을 만들어서 두 기둥머리에 두르고, 석류 모양 백 개를 만들어서 그 사슬에 달았다.
17 이렇게 그는 성전 본관 앞에 두 기둥을 세웠는데, 하나는 오른쪽에, 다른 하나는 왼쪽에 세웠다. 오른쪽에 세운 것은 야긴이라고 부르고, 왼쪽에 세운 것은 보아스라고 불렀다.

Who is God like?

Thinking & Understanding
Mount Moriah, where the temple was built, was the same place where God had provided a ram as a substitute for Isaac (Gen. 22). It was also the location of Ornan's threshing floor, where David experienced God's forgiveness and salvation (1 Chron. 21). These events were not coincidence; they pointed to the deeper truth that the temple would be a place where people could encounter God's presence, forgiveness, and salvation. Although the temple was designed to be twice the size of the original tabernacle (see Ex. 36:20-30), its structures were nearly identical. The gold decorations and cherubim in the Most Holy Place symbolised God's purity and holiness, while the pillars at the entrance signified that God was the rightful owner of the temple (vv. 1-17).
성전이 세워진 모리아산은 하나님이 이삭 대신 숫양을 제물로 준비해 주신 곳이었고(창 22장), 성전 터가 된 오르난의 타작마당은 다윗이 제사를 통해 하나님의 용서와 구원을 경험한 곳이었습니다(대상 21장). 이는 성전이 하나님의 임재와 용서와 구원을 경험하는 곳임을 의미합니다. 성전의 크기는 옛 성막의 두 배였지만(참조. 출 36:20-30) 구조는 거의 같았습니다. 순금 장식과 지성소의 그룹은 하나님의 정결하심과 거룩하심을, 성전 앞 기둥은 성전의 주인이 하나님이심을 나타냈습니다(1-17절).
What lesson is God teaching me?
the grandeur of the building or the number of people that are a part of it that should amaze us—it is God's grace and love what is amazing. Does our church experience the God who saved us as he saved Isaac in Mount Moriah and the God who forgave us as he forgave David at Ornan's threshing floor?
성전의 본질은 하나님의 임재와 용서입니다. 따라서 성전 공동체에서는 건물의 위용이나 사람의 수가 아닌 하나님의 은혜와 사랑에 압도되는 경험이 일어나야 합니다. 우리 공동체는 우리를 살려 주신 모리아산의 하나님을, 우리를 용서하신 오르난의 타작마당의 하나님을 경험하는 곳입니까?

Vv. 15-17: At the entrance of the temple stood two pillars named Jachin (he establishes) and Boaz (in him is strength). These pillars symbolized God’s power to establish his temple and nation. Let us come before the Word with confidence that the Lord will protect and firmly establish our families, churches, and this nation.
성전 문 앞에는 야긴(그가 세우신다)과 보아스(그에게 힘이 있다)로 불리는 두 기둥이 섰습니다. 이것은 하나님이 성전과 나라를 세우시며, 그럴 능력이 하나님께 있다는 것을 상징합니다. 우리도 주께서 우리 가정과 공동체, 이 나라를 보호하시고 견고히 세우실 것을 확신하며 말씀 앞으로 나아갑시다.
