20Now among those who went up to worship at the feast were some Greeks. 21 So these came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and asked him, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.” 22 Philip went and told Andrew; Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus. 23 And Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24 Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. 25 Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him. 27 “Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour. 28 Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.” 29 The crowd that stood there and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.” 30 Jesus answered, “This voice has come for your sake, not mine. 31 Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out. 32 And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” 33 He said this to show by what kind of death he was going to die.
20명절에 예배하러 올라온 사람들 가운데 그리스 사람이 몇 있었는데, 21 그들은 갈릴리 벳새다 출신 빌립에게로 가서 청하였다. “선생님, 우리가 예수를 뵙고 싶습니다.” 22 빌립은 안드레에게로 가서 말하고, 안드레와 빌립은 예수께 그 말을 전하였다. 23 예수께서 그들에게 대답하셨다. “인자가 영광을 받을 때가 왔다. 24 내가 진정으로 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 밀알 하나가 땅에 떨어져서 죽지 않으면 한 알 그대로 있고, 죽으면 열매를 많이 맺는다. 25 자기의 목숨을 사랑하는 사람은 잃을 것이요, 이 세상에서 자기의 목숨을 미워하는 사람은, 영생에 이르도록 그 목숨을 보존할 것이다. 26 나를 섬기려고 하는 사람은, 누구든지 나를 따라오너라. 내가 있는 곳에는, 나를 섬기는 사람도 나와 함께 있을 것이다. 누구든지 나를 섬기면, 내 아버지께서 그를 높여주실 것이다.” 27 “지금 내 마음이 괴로우니, 무슨 말을 하여야 할까? ‘아버지, 이 시간을 벗어나게 하여 주십시오’ 하고 말할까? 아니다. 나는 바로 이 일 때문에 이 때에 왔다. 28 아버지, 아버지의 이름을 영광스럽게 드러내십시오.” 그 때에 하늘에서 소리가 들려 왔다. “내가 이미 영광되게 하였고, 앞으로도 영광되게 하겠다.” 29 거기에 서서 듣고 있던 무리 가운데서 더러는 천둥이 울렸다고 하고, 또 더러는 천사가 그에게 말하였다고 하였다. 30 예수께서 대답하셨다. “이 소리가 난 것은, 나를 위해서가 아니라 너희를 위해서이다. 31 지금은 이 세상이 심판을 받을 때이다. 이제는 이 세상의 통치자가 쫓겨날 것이다. 32 내가 땅에서 들려서 올라갈 때에, 나는 모든 사람을 내게로 이끌어 올 것이다.” 33 이것은 예수께서 자기가 당하실 죽음이 어떠한 것인지를 암시하려고 하신 말씀이다.
