[ Hebrews 10:19 - 10:25 ] - hymn 220 Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Hebrews 10:24 Why do more than five million people a year pay money to run several miles over an obstacle course where they must ascend vertical walls, slog through mud, and climb up inside a vertical pipe with water pouring down on them? Some see it as a personal challenge to push their limit of endurance or conquer their fears. For others, the attraction is teamwork where competitors help and support each other. One person called it “a no-judgment zone” where people who are strangers will reach out to help each other finish the race(Stephanie Kanowitz, The Washington Post). The Bible urges us to pursue teamwork as a model of living out our faith in Jesus. “Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching”(Hebrews 10:24–25). Our goal is not to “finish first” in the race of faith, but to reach out in tangible ways of encouragement by setting an example and lending a helping hand along the way. The day will come when we complete our life on earth. Until then, let’s spur each other on, be ready to help, and keep pulling together every day. David C. McCasland		[ 히브리서 10:19 - 10:25 ] - 찬송가 220 장 서로 돌아보아 사랑과 선행을 격려하며 히브리서 10:24 어째서 일 년에 오백만 명이 넘는 사람들이 돈을 써가며 수 마일에 이르는 장애물 코스를 달리면서 수직 벽에 오르고 진흙탕에 뒹굴고 물이 쏟아져 내려오는 수직 파이프 안을 기어오르는 일을 할까요? 어떤 사람들은 이것을 자기의 인내력의 한계를 시험하거나 두려움을 극복해 보려는 도전으로 봅니다. 또 어떤 사람들은 참가한 경쟁자들이 서로 돕고 지원하는 팀워크의 매력 때문이라고 합니다. 한 사람은 이것을 “비판 금지 구역”이라고 부르는데, 이곳에선 모르는 사람들끼리 관심을 가지고 경주를 완주하도록 서로를 도와줍니다(〈워싱턴포스트〉, 스테파니 카노위츠). 성경은 우리가 예수님 안에서 믿음대로 살려면 팀워크를 이루어 나가야 한다고 말합니다. “서로 돌아보아 사랑과 선행을 격려하며 모이기를 폐하는 어떤 사람들의 습관과 같이 하지 말고 오직 권하여 그날이 가까움을 볼수록 더욱 그리하자”(히 10:24-25). 우리의 목표는 믿음의 경주에서 “일등”을 하는 것이 아니라 함께 달리며 좋은 본이 되고 도움의 손길을 내밀기도 하면서 실제로 격려가 되어주는 것입니다. 우리는 언젠가 이 세상에서의 삶을 마치는 날이 올 것입니다. 그때까지 매일 서로에게 힘이 되어 주고 기꺼이 도와주며 중단 없이 함께 전진해 나아갑시다.

• Father in heaven, give us eyes to see and strength to help each other in the race of faith today.

We run together in the race of faith.

19. Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,
20. by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body,
21. and since we have a great priest over the house of God,
22. let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
23. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
24. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
25. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another -- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

• 하나님 아버지, 오늘 우리가 믿음의 경주를 할 때에 서로를 볼 수 있는 눈과 도울 수 있는 힘을 주소서.

23. 또 약속하신 이는 미쁘시니 우리가 믿는 도리의 소망을 움직이지 말며 굳게 잡고
24. 서로 돌아보아 사랑과 선행을 격려하며
25. 모이기를 폐하는 어떤 사람들의 습관과 같이 하지 말고 오직 권하여 그 날이 가까움을 볼수록 더욱 그리하자
