FROM EVERY NATION		다양한 국가에서 온 사람들
[ Acts 10:30 - 10:43 ] - hymn 219 God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right. [ ACTS 10:34-35 ] London is a cosmopolitan city, with people from many nations living side by side. This coming together of people from around the world can bring richness—including amazing food and challenges. For instance, I was saddened that friends from one European country felt they were the least respected in London because their country had been admitted to the European Union more recently. They felt overlooked, blamed for problems, and resented for the jobs they secured. Since God doesn’t show favoritism, neither should we. He breaks down barriers between people. We see His Spirit at work in Peter’s vision while praying on the rooftop, and how Peter was called to minister to Cornelius, a God-fearing gentile. God helped Peter evaluate the Jewish regulations about not associating with gentiles. The apostle listened and went to Cornelius’ home to share the good news of Jesus. He said, “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right” (ACTS 10:34-35). Those who follow Jesus are called to love and serve all those who are made in the image of Christ. Part of that mission is to not to show favoritism for people from certain nations or with particular skin colors. May we learn to seek justice and to defend the oppressed as God guides us (ISAIAH 1:17). AMY BOUCHER PYE		[ 사도행전 10:30 - 10:43 ] - 찬송가 219 장 참으로 하나님은 사람의 외모를 보지 아니하시고 각 나라 중 하나님을 경외하며 의를 행하는 사람은 다 받으시는 줄을 깨달았도다 [사도행전 10:34-35] 런던은 많은 나라에서 온 사람들이 어우러져 살아가는 국제적인 도시입니다. 전 세계에서 모여든 사람들이 함께 살아감으로써 놀라운 음식이나 여러 다른 문화 등, 다양한 경험을 할 수 있습니다. 그런데 어느 유럽국가에서 온 친구들이 그들의 나라가 최근에야 유럽연합에 가입했다는 이유로 런던에서 대접받지 못한다는 것을 알고 슬펐습니다. 그들은 무시당하고, 문제가 생기면 비난 받으며, 직장을 구한 것으로도 원망을 산다고 느꼈습니다. 하나님께서 편애하지 않으시는 것처럼 우리도 그래야 합니다. 하나님은 사람들 사이의 장벽을 허무는 분이십니다. 우리는 베드로가 옥탑에서 기도하면서 보게 된 환상 속에서 성령님이 어떻게 일하시는지, 하나님을 두려워하는 이방인 고넬료에게 복음을 전하도록 베드로가 어떻게 부름을 받았는지를 봅니다. 하나님은 베드로에게 이방인들과 섞이지 않는 유대교의 규율을 다시 생각해보게 하셨습니다. 베드로는 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 고넬료의 집으로 가서 예수님의 복음을 전했습니다. 그는 말했습니다. “내가 참으로 하나님은 사람의 외모를 보지 아니하시고, 각 나라 중 하나님을 경외하며 의를 행하는 사람은 다 받으시는 줄 깨달았도다”(사도행전 10:34-35). 예수님을 따르는 자들은 그리스도의 형상으로 만들어진 모든 사람들을 사랑하고 섬기도록 부름 받았습니다. 그 사명에는 출신 국가나 피부색으로 사람들을 차별하지 않는 것도 포함됩니다. 하나님이 인도하시는 대로 우리가 정의를 추구하고 억압받는 사람들 편에 설 수 있기를 바랍니다(이사야 1:17).

30 Cornelius answered: “Three days ago I was in my house praying at this hour, at three in the afternoon. Suddenly a man in shining clothes stood before me

31 and said, ‘Cornelius, God has heard your prayer and remembered your gifts to the poor.

32 Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. He is a guest in the home of Simon the tanner, who lives by the sea.’

33 So I sent for you immediately, and it was good of you to come. Now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to tell us.”

34 Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism

35 but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.

39 “We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross,

40 but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen.

41 He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

42 He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead.

43 All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

왜 하나님께서 서로 다른 나라 사람들 사이의 장벽을 허무신다고 생각합니까?
어떻게 하면 억압받는 사람들을 위해 목소리를 낼 수 있을까요?

30 고넬료가 이르되 내가 나흘 전 이맘때까지 내 집에서 제 구 시 기도를 하는데 갑자기 한 사람이 빛난 옷을 입고 내 앞에 서서

31 말하되 고넬료야 하나님이 네 기도를 들으시고 네 구제를 기억하셨으니

32 사람을 욥바에 보내어 베드로라 하는 시몬을 청하라 그가 바닷가 무두장이 시몬의 집에 유숙하느니라 하시기로

33 내가 곧 당신에게 사람을 보내었는데 오셨으니 잘하였나이다 이제 우리는 주께서 당신에게 명하신 모든 것을 듣고자 하여 다 하나님 앞에 있나이다

34 베드로가 입을 열어 말하되 내가 참으로 하나님은 사람의 외모를 보지 아니하시고

35 각 나라 중 하나님을 경외하며 의를 행하는 사람은 다 받으시는 줄 깨달았도다

39 우리는 유대인의 땅과 예루살렘에서 그가 행하신 모든 일에 증인이라 그를 그들이 나무에 달아 죽였으나

40 하나님이 사흘 만에 다시 살리사 나타내시되

41 모든 백성에게 하신 것이 아니요 오직 미리 택하신 증인 곧 죽은 자 가운데서 부활하신 후 그를 모시고 음식을 먹은 우리에게 하신 것이라

42 우리에게 명하사 백성에게 전도하되 하나님이 살아 있는 자와 죽은 자의 재판장으로 정하신 자가 곧 이 사람인 것을 증언하게 하셨고

43 그에 대하여 모든 선지자도 증언하되 그를 믿는 사람들이 다 그의 이름을 힘입어 죄 사함을 받는다 하였느니라
