NOT RITUAL BUT CHRIST		의식이 아니라 그리스도
[ Colossians 2:6 - 2:15 ] - hymn 88 Hollow and deceptive philosophy . . . depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ. [ COLOSSIANS 2:8 ] In Santa Fe, New Mexico, thousands gather each year to burn Zozobra—a fifty-foot towering effigy stuffed with their worries, bills, and regrets. They shout, “Burn him!” as they hope the flames will devour their anxieties and troubles and reset their lives. The ritual reflects a deep human longing to be cleansed of fear, shame, and failure. It’s dramatic. But it’s also powerless. Fire can destroy paper but not guilt. It can consume ashes but not shame. The apostle Paul wrote, “See to it that no one takes you cap-tive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ” (COLOSSIANS 2:8). He reminded his readers that they shouldn’t trade Jesus for empty substitutes, and he explains why: Christ is the visible “image of the invisible God” (1:15), is supreme over creation (1:16), fully God in human flesh (2:9), and victorious over “every power and authority” (V. 10). Because of His death and resurrection, we’re “rooted and built up in him” (V. 7), and fully alive and forgiven by Him (V. 13). Human rituals and cultural ceremonies can mesmerize a crowd, but only Jesus can cancel sin’s debt and break its grip forever. Instead of yielding our burdens to rituals and traditions, let’s surrender them to Christ. He alone frees us from captivity and fills us with hope. MARVIN WILLIAMS		[ 골로새서 2:6 - 2:15 ] - 찬송가 88 장 철학과 헛된 속임수... 이것은 사람의 전통과 세상의 초등학문을 따름이요 그리스도를 따름이 아니라 [골로새서 2:8] 미국 뉴멕시코 주 산타페에서는 매년 수천 명이 모여 조조브라 인형을 불태웁니다. 50 피트(약 15m) 높이의 이 거대한 인형 속에 사람들의 걱정과 청구서 그리고 후회 등이 가득 담겨 있습니다. 사람들은 “태워 버려!”라고 외치며 불꽃이 자신의 불안과 문제들을 집어삼키고 삶을 새롭게 해주기를 기원합니다. 이 의식은 두려움과 수치심, 실패로부터 정결해지고자 하는 인간의 깊은 갈망을 보여줍니다. 매우 극적인 의식입니다. 동시에 무기력한 행위일 뿐입니다. 불은 종이를 태울 수는 있지만 죄까지 태울 수는 없습니다. 불은 재를 만들 수 있지만 수치심을 재로 만들어 주지는 않습니다. 바울 사도는 골로새 교인들에게 보낸 편지에 이렇게 썼습니다. “누가 철학과 헛된 속임수로 너희를 사로잡을까 주의하라 이것은 사람의 전통과 세상의 초등학문을 따름이요 그리스도를 따름이 아니니라”(골로새서 2:8). 그는 교인들에게 예수님 대신 헛된 대용품들을 찾지 말라고 상기시키면서, 그것은 그리스도는 “보이지 아니하는 하나님의 형상”(1:15)을 나타내 보이시며, 모든 창조물의 으뜸이시고(1:16), 인간의 육체를 입으신 온전한 하나님이시며(2:9), “모든 통치자와 권세”를 이기신(10절) 분이기 때문이라고 설명합니다. 예수님의 죽음과 부활로 인해 우리는 “그 안에 뿌리를 박으며 세움을” 받았으며(7절) 그분에 의해 생명을 얻고 용서를 받았습니다(13절). 인간들이 치르는 의식이나 문화적 행사가 군중의 넋을 잃게 할 수는 있어도, 오직 예수님만이 죄의 값을 대속하시며 죄의 속박을 영원히 끊으실 수 있습니다. 우리의 짐을 의식이나 전통에 맡기는 대신 그리스도께 온전히 내려놓읍시다. 오직 그분만이 우리를 속박에서 자유롭게 하시고 소망으로 채워 주십니다.

6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him,

7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.

9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,

10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.

11 In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ,

12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,

14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.

15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

인간이 행하는 의식이 어떻게 그리스도를 대신하는 위험한 대안이 될 수 있습니까?
예수님께서는 어떤 방식으로 우리를 자유롭게 하십니까?

사랑하는 예수님, 오직 주님만이 저를 진정으로 자유롭게 하실 수 있습니다.

6 ○그러므로 너희가 그리스도 예수를 주로 받았으니 그 안에서 행하되

7 그 안에 뿌리를 박으며 세움을 받아 교훈을 받은 대로 믿음에 굳게 서서 감사함을 넘치게 하라

8 ○누가 철학과 헛된 속임수로 너희를 사로잡을까 주의하라 이것은 사람의 전통과 세상의 초등학문을 따름이요 그리스도를 따름이 아니니라

9 그 안에는 신성의 모든 충만이 육체로 거하시고

10 너희도 그 안에서 충만하여졌으니 그는 모든 통치자와 권세의 머리시라

11 또 그 안에서 너희가 손으로 하지 아니한 할례를 받았으니 곧 육의 몸을 벗는 것이요 그리스도의 할례니라

12 너희가 세례로 그리스도와 함께 장사되고 또 죽은 자들 가운데서 그를 일으키신 하나님의 역사를 믿음으로 말미암아 그 안에서 함께 일으키심을 받았느니라

13 또 범죄와 육체의 무할례로 죽었던 너희를 하나님이 그와 함께 살리시고 우리의 모든 죄를 사하시고

14 우리를 거스르고 불리하게 하는 법조문으로 쓴 증서를 지우시고 제하여 버리사 십자가에 못 박으시고

15 통치자들과 권세들을 무력화하여 드러내어 구경거리로 삼으시고 십자가로 그들을 이기셨느니라
