[A Psalm of David.]
1 O LORD, I call upon you; hasten to me! Give ear to my voice when I call to you!
2 Let my prayer be counted as incense before you, and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice!
3 Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!
4 Do not let my heart incline to any evil, to busy myself with wicked deeds in company with men who work iniquity, and let me not eat of their delicacies!
5 Let a righteous man strike me—it is a kindness; let him rebuke me—it is oil for my head; let my head not refuse it. Yet my prayer is continually against their evil deeds.
6 When their judges are thrown over the cliff, then they shall hear my words, for they are pleasant.
7 As when one plows and breaks up the earth, so shall our bones be scattered at the mouth of Sheol.
8 But my eyes are toward you, O GOD, my Lord; in you I seek refuge; leave me not defenseless!
9 Keep me from the trap that they have laid for me and from the snares of evildoers!
10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by safely.

1주님, 내가 주님을 부르니, 내게로 어서 와 주십시오. 주님께 부르짖는 내 음성에 귀를 기울여 주십시오.
2 내 기도를 주님께 드리는 분향으로 받아 주시고, 손을 위로 들고서 드리는 기도는 저녁 제물로 받아 주십시오.
3 주님, 내 입술 언저리에 파수꾼을 세우시고, 내 입 앞에는 문지기를 세워 주십시오.
4 내 마음이 악한 일에 기울어지지 않게 해주십시오. 악한 일을 하는 자들과 어울려서, 악한 일을 하지 않게 도와주십시오. 그들의 진수성찬을 먹지 않게 해주십시오.
5 의인이 사랑의 매로 나를 쳐서, 나를 꾸짖게 해주시고 악인들에게 대접을 받는 일이 없게 해주십시오. 나는 언제나 그들의 악행을 고발하는 기도를 드리겠습니다.
6 그들의 통치자들이 돌부리에 걸려서 넘어지면, 그제서야 백성은 내 말이 옳았음을 알고서, 내게 귀를 기울일 것입니다.
7 맷돌이 땅에 부딪쳐서 깨지듯이 그들의 해골이 부서져서, 스올 어귀에 흩어질 것입니다.
8 주 하나님, 내 눈이 주님을 우러러보며, 주님께로 내가 피하니, 내 영혼을 벌거벗겨서 내쫓지는 말아 주십시오.
9 내 원수들이 나를 잡으려고 쳐 놓은 덫에서 나를 지켜 주시고, 악한 일을 저지르는 사람들의 함정에서 나를 건져 주십시오.
10 악인들은, 자기가 친 덫에 걸려서 넘어지게 해주시고, 나만은 안전하게, 빠져 나가게 해주십시오.

Who is God like?

Thinking & Understanding
The psalmist desires that his prayer be offered up before the Lord as incense and as the evening sacrifice. Above all, he prays that his heart, words, and actions will remain pure and untainted by evil. It is his earnest plea not to become like the wicked, with their cunning ways (vv. 1-4). He then calls out for deliverance from the hands of the wicked, who continue to torment the righteous until the end. However, he trusts that when God judges the wicked, their false accusations will be exposed, and they will fall into the very traps they set (vv. 5-10).
시인은 자신의 기도가 주님 앞에 분향처럼, 저녁 제물처럼 올려지기를 바랍니다. 그리고 무엇보다 먼저, 자신의 마음과 말, 행동이 악에 물들지 않게 지켜 달라고 기도합니다. 악인의 간교한 방식에 맞서다 악인과 같은 사람이 되지 않게 해 달라는 간절한 기도입니다(1-4절). 이어서 악인의 손에서 자신을 구원해 달라고 호소합니다. 악인은 의인들의 거절을 용납하지 않으며, 그들을 끝까지 괴롭힙니다. 그러나 하나님이 악인을 심판하실 때, 그들의 비난은 무의미해지고 사라질 것입니다(5-10절).

What lesson is God teaching me?
Vv. 1-5 The psalmist first examines himself to ensure his heart is not inclined toward any evil. Likewise, Jesus taught us to pray, ‘And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.’ (Matt. 6:13). When anger rises within us because of someone else’s wrongdoing, let us take time to examine ourselves to see if we are becoming like them—and pray accordingly.
시인은 악에 물들지 않도록 자신을 먼저 돌아보며 기도합니다. 예수님도 "우리를 시험에 들게 하지 마시고, 악에서 구하소서"라고 가르치셨습니다(마 6:13). 누군가의 악한 행위로 인해 분노가 치밀 때, 나도 그와 닮아 가고 있지는 않은지 자신을 점검하며 기도합시다.

V. 5 The psalmist recognises the value of being rebuked by the righteous and desires such correction. The rebuke of the righteous friend is a loving and necessary warning. Do I have a friend like this who keeps me close to Christ? If not, let us strive to be that kind of friend to others first.
시인은 의인이 자신을 책망하길 원합니다. 의인의 책망은 사랑의 채찍이며, 우리 삶에 꼭 필요한 경고입니다. 나를 그리스도께로 붙들어 줄 의로운 친구가 내 곁에 있습니까? 없다면 먼저 나 자신이 그런 친구가 되어 봅시다.
