[ 1 Corinthians 15:50 - 15:58 ] (Hymn328)

50I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.
54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

50형제자매 여러분, 내가 말하려는 것은 이것입니다. 살과 피는 하나님 나라를 유산으로 받을 수 없고, 썩을 것은 썩지 않을 것을 유산으로 받지 못합니다.
51 보십시오, 내가 여러분에게 비밀을 하나 말씀드리겠습니다. 우리가 다 잠들 것이 아니라, 다 변화할 터인데,
52 마지막 나팔이 울릴 때에, 눈 깜박할 사이에, 홀연히 그렇게 될 것입니다. 나팔소리가 나면, 죽은 사람은 썩어 없어지지 않을 몸으로 살아나고, 우리는 변화할 것입니다.
53 썩을 몸이 썩지 않을 것을 입어야 하고, 죽을 몸이 죽지 않을 것을 입어야 합니다.
54 썩을 이 몸이 썩지 않을 것을 입고, 죽을 이 몸이 죽지 않을 것을 입을 그 때에, 이렇게 기록한 성경 말씀이 이루어질 것입니다. “죽음을 삼키고서, 승리를 얻었다.”
55 “죽음아, 너의 승리가 어디에 있느냐? 죽음아, 너의 독침이 어디에 있느냐?”
56 죽음의 독침은 죄요, 죄의 권세는 율법입니다.
57 그러나 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 통하여 우리에게 승리를 주시는 하나님께 우리는 감사를 드립니다.
58 그러므로 나의 사랑하는 형제자매 여러분, 굳게 서서 흔들리지 말고, 주님의 일을 더욱 많이 하십시오. 여러분이 아는 대로, 여러분의 수고가 주님 안에서 헛되지 않습니다.

Who is God like?

Thinking & Understanding
Paul said that the resurrection was essential to inheriting God’s fulfilled kingdom. Believers could not participate in the eternal kingdom with perishable bodies, so after the last trumpet sounded, the dead would be resurrected, and the bodies of the living would be changed in an instant (vv. 50-53). Perishable bodies would become imperishable, and death would lose all its power. God made us able to defeat death through Jesus Christ. Paul concluded his discourse by urging the believers to live immovably and devote themselves even more to the work of the Lord in the present because there was hope in the resurrection (vv. 54-48).
바울은 완전한 하나님 나라를 유산으로 받기 위해서는 부활이 반드시 필요하다고 말합니다. 썩을 몸으로는 영원한 나라에 참여할 수 없기에, 마지막 나팔이 울릴 때 죽은 자는 부활하고 살아 있는 자는 순식간에 새 몸으로 변화될 것입니다(50-53절). 이때 썩을 몸이 썩지 않을 몸으로 바뀌며 죽음의 권세는 완전히 무너집니다. 하나님은 예수 그리스도를 통해 죽음을 이기게 하셨고, 바울은 부활의 소망이 있기에 현재의 삶에서도 흔들림 없이 주의 일에 힘쓰라고 권면하며 논의를 마무리합니다(54-58절).

What lesson is God teaching me?
V. 50 Our bodies need to be resurrected for us to inherit God’s kingdom. Flesh and blood cannot inherit God’s kingdom as they are perishable. God’s eternal kingdom will belongs only to those who gain eternal life through the resurrection.
부활의 몸이 필요한 이유는 하나님 나라를 유업으로 받기 위함입니다. 혈과 육은 썩어서 소멸할 것이기에 하나님 나라를 이어받을 수 없습니다. 영원한 하나님 나라는 오직 부활을 통해 영원한 생명을 얻게 될 자들의 몫입니다.

V. 58 Paul urged the believers to devote themselves even more to the works of the Lord with immovable hearts because there was hope in the resurrection. Without this hope, we would worry about what to eat or drink in this world, compromise with sin, and continuously suffer from guilt. But the Lord has solved all these things and guarantees us life after resurrection, so we no longer need to be controlled by the power of death. By firmly holding onto this faith and hope, we must devote ourselves even more to the Lord’s works with immovable hearts.
바울은 부활의 소망이 있으니 흔들림 없이 주의 일에 더욱 힘쓰라고 권면합니다. 부활이 없다면 우리는 이 땅에서 무엇을 먹고 마실까 염려할 것이고, 죄와 타협하며 살아갈 것이며, 죄책감으로 늘 고통스러울 것입니다. 그러나 이 모든 것을 주님이 해결하시고 부활의 생명까지 주셨으니, 더 이상 죽음의 권세에 휘둘릴 이유가 없습니다. 이 믿음을 견고하게 다지고 이 소망을 굳게 붙들어 흔들림 없이 주의 일에 매진합시다.

Lord, help me to handle the labours of a life that befits being a Christian, remembering that you will return.
