17 Now when Jesus came, he found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb four days. 18 Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles off, 19 and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them concerning their brother. 20 So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary remained seated in the house. 21 Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.” 23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” 24 Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” 27 She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”
17예수께서 가서 보시니, 나사로가 무덤 속에 있은 지가 벌써 나흘이나 되었다. 18 베다니는 예루살렘에서 오 리가 조금 넘는 가까운 곳인데, 19 많은 유대 사람이 그 오라버니의 일로 마르다와 마리아를 위로하러 와 있었다. 20 마르다는 예수께서 오신다는 말을 듣고서 맞으러 나가고, 마리아는 집에 앉아 있었다. 21 마르다가 예수께 말하였다. “주님, 주님이 여기에 계셨더라면, 내 오라버니가 죽지 아니하였을 것입니다. 22 그러나 이제라도, 나는 주님께서 하나님께 구하시는 것은 무엇이나 하나님께서 다 이루어 주실 줄 압니다.” 23 예수께서 마르다에게 말씀하셨다. “네 오라버니가 다시 살아날 것이다.” 24 마르다가 예수께 말하였다. “마지막 날 부활 때에 그가 다시 살아나리라는 것은 내가 압니다.” 25 예수께서 마르다에게 말씀하셨다. “나는 부활이요 생명이니, 나를 믿는 사람은 죽어도 살고, 26 살아서 나를 믿는 사람은 영원히 죽지 아니할 것이다. 네가 이것을 믿느냐?” 27 마르다가 예수께 말하였다. “예, 주님! 주님은 세상에 오실 그리스도이시며, 하나님의 아들이심을, 내가 믿습니다.”
