8The Lord has sent a word against Jacob, and it will fall on Israel; 9 and all the people will know, Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria, who say in pride and in arrogance of heart: 10 “The bricks have fallen, but we will build with dressed stones; the sycamores have been cut down, but we will put cedars in their place.” 11 But the LORD raises the adversaries of Rezin against him, and stirs up his enemies. 12 The Syrians on the east and the Philistines on the west devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger has not turned away, and his hand is stretched out still. 13 The people did not turn to him who struck them, nor inquire of the LORD of hosts. 14 So the LORD cut off from Israel head and tail, palm branch and reed in one day— 15 the elder and honored man is the head, and the prophet who teaches lies is the tail; 16 for those who guide this people have been leading them astray, and those who are guided by them are swallowed up. 17 Therefore the Lord does not rejoice over their young men, and has no compassion on their fatherless and widows; for everyone is godless and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger has not turned away, and his hand is stretched out still. 18 For wickedness burns like a fire; it consumes briers and thorns; it kindles the thickets of the forest, and they roll upward in a column of smoke. 19 Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts the land is scorched, and the people are like fuel for the fire; no one spares another. 20 They slice meat on the right, but are still hungry, and they devour on the left, but are not satisfied; each devours the flesh of his own arm, 21 Manasseh devours Ephraim, and Ephraim devours Manasseh; together they are against Judah. For all this his anger has not turned away, and his hand is stretched out still. 10 :1Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees, and the writers who keep writing oppression, 2 to turn aside the needy from justice and to rob the poor of my people of their right, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey! 3 What will you do on the day of punishment, in the ruin that will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help, and where will you leave your wealth? 4 Nothing remains but to crouch among the prisoners or fall among the slain. For all this his anger has not turned away, and his hand is stretched out still.
8주님께서 야곱에게 심판을 선언하셨다. 그것이 이스라엘 백성에게 이를 것이다. 9 모든 백성 곧 에브라임과 사마리아 주민은, 하나님께서 그들을 심판하신 것을 마침내는 알게 될 터인데도, 교만하고 오만한 마음으로 서슴지 않고 말하기를 10 “벽돌집이 무너지면 다듬은 돌로 다시 쌓고, 뽕나무가 찍히면 백향목을 대신 심겠다” 한다. 11 이 때문에 주님께서 그들을 치시려고 르신의 적을 일으키셨고, 그들의 원수를 부추기셨다. 12 동쪽에서는 시리아 사람들이, 서쪽에서는 블레셋 사람들이, 그 입을 크게 벌려서 이스라엘을 삼켰다. 그래도 주님께서는 진노를 풀지 않으시고, 심판을 계속하시려고 여전히 손을 들고 계신다. 13 그런데도 이 백성은 그들을 치신 분에게로 돌아오지 않았고, 만군의 주님을 찾지도 않았다. 14 그러므로 주님께서 이스라엘의 머리와 꼬리, 종려가지와 갈대를 하루에 자르실 것이다. 15 머리는 곧 장로와 고관들이고, 꼬리는 곧 거짓을 가르치는 예언자들이다. 16 이 백성을 인도하는 지도자들이 잘못 인도하니, 인도를 받는 백성이 멸망할 수밖에 없다. 17 그러므로 주님께서 그들의 젊은이들에게 자비를 베풀지 않으실 것이며, 그들의 고아와 과부를 불쌍히 여기지 않으실 것이다. 그들은 모두가 불경건하여 악한 일을 하고, 입으로는 어리석은 말만 한다. 그래서 주님께서는 진노를 풀지 않으시고, 심판을 계속하시려고, 여전히 손을 들고 계신다. 18 참으로 악이 불처럼 타올라서 찔레나무와 가시나무를 삼켜 버리고, 우거진 숲을 사르니, 이것이 연기 기둥이 되어 휘돌며 올라간다. 19 만군의 주님의 진노로 땅이 바싹 타버리니, 그 백성이 마치 불을 때는 땔감같이 되며, 아무도 서로를 아끼지 않을 것이다. 20 오른쪽에서 뜯어먹어도 배가 고프고, 왼쪽에서 삼켜도 배부르지 않아, 각각 제 팔뚝의 살점을 뜯어먹을 것이다. 21 므낫세는 에브라임을 먹고, 에브라임은 므낫세를 먹고, 그들이 다 함께 유다에 대항할 것이다. 그래서 주님께서는 진노를 풀지 않으시고, 심판을 계속하시려고 여전히 손을 들고 계신다. 10 :1불의한 법을 공포하고, 양민을 괴롭히는 법령을 제정하는 자들아, 너희에게 재앙이 닥친다! 2 가난한 자들의 소송을 외면하고, 불쌍한 나의 백성에게서 권리를 박탈하며, 과부들을 노략하고, 고아들을 약탈하였다. 3 주님께서 징벌하시는 날에, 먼 곳으로부터 재앙을 끌어들이시는 날에, 너희는 어찌하려느냐? 누구에게로 도망하여 도움을 청할 것이며, 너희의 재산을 어디에 감추어 두려느냐? 4 너희는 포로들 밑에 깔려 밟혀 죽거나, 시체 더미 밑에 깔려 질식할 것이다. 그래도 주님께서는 진노를 풀지 않으시고, 심판을 계속하시려고, 여전히 손을 들고 계신다.
