[ Romans 3:10 - 3:26 ] - hymn 289 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 The word dysfunctional is often used to describe individuals, families, relationships, organizations, and even governments. While functional means it¡¯s in proper working order, dysfunctional is the opposite—it¡¯s broken, not working properly, unable to do what it was designed to do. In his letter to the Romans, the apostle Paul begins by describing a spiritually dysfunctional humanity(1:18–32). We are all part of that rebellious company: ¡°All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. . . . For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God¡±(3:12, 23). The good news is that ¡°all are justified freely by [God¡¯s] grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus . . . to be received by faith¡±(vv. 24–25). When we invite Christ into our lives and accept God¡¯s offer of forgiveness and new life, we are on the path to becoming the person He created us to be. We don¡¯t immediately become perfect, but we no longer have to remain broken and dysfunctional. Through the Holy Spirit we receive daily strength to honor God in what we say and do and to ¡°put off [our] old self . . . to be made new in the attitude of [our] minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness¡±(Eph. 4:22–24). David McCasland		[ 로마서 3:10 - 3:26 ] - 찬송가 289 장 모든 사람이 죄를 범하였으매 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못하더니 로마서 3:23 ‘역기능적’이라는 단어는 개인이나 가정, 인간관계, 단체, 심지어는 정부를 묘사할 때도 자주 쓰입니다. ‘기능적’이란 단어의 의미가 제대로 작동하는 상태를 말하는 반면, ‘역기능적’이라는 말은 그 반대로, 고장 나거나 제대로 작동하지 않아서 애초에 설계된 대로 쓸 수 없게 된 상태를 말합니다. 바울 사도는 영적으로 역기능적인 인간을 묘사하는 것으로 로마서를 시작하고 있습니다(1:18-32). 우리는 모두 다 그 반항하는 무리들 속에 속해 있습니다. “다 치우쳐 함께 무익하게 되고 선을 행하는 자는 없나니 하나도 없도다 … 모든 사람이 죄를 범하였으매 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못하더니”(3:12, 23). 그러나 여기 기쁜 소식이 있습니다. “그리스도 예수 안에 있는 속량으로 말미암아 하나님의 은혜로 값없이 의롭다 하심을 얻은 자 되었느니라…믿음으로 말미암아”(24-25절). 우리가 그리스도를 우리의 삶에 초청하고 하나님이 제시하시는 용서와 새로운 삶을 받아들일 때, 우리는 하나님이 우리를 창조하신 대로의 사람이 되어가는 길에 머무르게 됩니다. 우리는 당장 완벽해지지는 않지만, 더 이상 고장 나고 기능을 제대로 하지 못하는 상태로 남아 있지 않게 됩니다. 성령님을 통해 우리는 말하고 행동하는 것으로 하나님께 영광을 돌릴 수 있는 힘과, “옛 사람을 벗어 버리고…오직 [우리의] 심령이 새롭게 되어 하나님을 따라 의와 진리의 거룩함으로 지으심을 받은 새 사람을 입을”(엡 4:22-24) 수 있는 능력을 매일 얻을 수 있습니다.

10. As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one;
11. there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.
12. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one."
13. "Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit." "The poison of vipers is on their lips."
14. "Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness."
15. "Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16. ruin and misery mark their ways,
17. and the way of peace they do not know."
18. "There is no fear of God before their eyes."
19. Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.
20. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
21. But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.
22. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference,
23. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24. and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
25. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished --
26. he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

13. 그들의 목구멍은 열린 무덤이요 그 혀로는 속임을 일삼으며 그 입술에는 독사의 독이 있고
14. 그 입에는 저주와 악독이 가득하고
15. 그 발은 피 흘리는 데 빠른지라
16. 파멸과 고생이 그 길에 있어
17. 평강의 길을 알지 못하였고
18. 그들의 눈 앞에 하나님을 두려워함이 없느니라 함과 같으니라
19. 우리가 알거니와 무릇 율법이 말하는 바는 율법 아래에 있는 자들에게 말하는 것이니 이는 모든 입을 막고 온 세상으로 하나님의 심판 아래에 있게 하려 함이라
20. 그러므로 율법의 행위로 그의 앞에 의롭다 하심을 얻을 육체가 없나니 율법으로는 죄를 깨달음이니라
21. 이제는 율법 외에 하나님의 한 의가 나타났으니 율법과 선지자들에게 증거를 받은 것이라
22. 곧 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암아 모든 믿는 자에게 미치는 하나님의 의니 차별이 없느니라
23. 모든 사람이 죄를 범하였으매 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못하더니
24. 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 속량으로 말미암아 하나님의 은혜로 값 없이 의롭다 하심을 얻은 자 되었느니라
25. 이 예수를 하나님이 그의 피로써 믿음으로 말미암는 화목제물로 세우셨으니 이는 하나님께서 길이 참으시는 중에 전에 지은 죄를 간과하심으로 자기의 의로우심을 나타내려 하심이니
26. 곧 이 때에 자기의 의로우심을 나타내사 자기도 의로우시며 또한 예수 믿는 자를 의롭다 하려 하심이라
