Navigating Rough Waters		거친 물살 사이로 항해하기
[ 1 Chronicles 28:9 - 28:20 ] - hymn 400 Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. 1 Chronicles 28:20 I was enjoying the start of my first whitewater rafting experience—until I heard the roar of the rapids up ahead. My emotions were flooded with feelings of uncertainty, fear, and insecurity at the same time. Riding through the whitewater was a first-rate, white-knuckle experience! And then, suddenly, it was over. The guide in the back of the raft had navigated us through. I was safe—at least until the next set of rapids. Transitions in our lives can be like whitewater experiences. The inevitable leaps from one season of life to the next—college to career, changing jobs, living with parents to living alone or with a spouse, career to retirement, youth to old age—are all marked by uncertainty and insecurity. In one of the most significant transitions recorded in Old Testament history, Solomon assumed the throne from his father David. I¡¯m sure he was filled with uncertainty about the future. His father¡¯s advice? ¡°Be strong and courageous, and do the work. . . . For the Lord God, my God, is with you¡±(1 Chron. 28:20). We¡¯ll have our fair share of tough transitions in life. But with God in our raft we¡¯re not alone. Keeping our eyes on the One who is navigating the rapids brings joy and security. He¡¯s taken lots of others through before. Joe Stowell		[ 역대상 28:9 - 28:20 ] - 찬송가 400 장 두려워하지 말며 놀라지 말라…여호와 하나님 나의 하나님이 너와 함께 계시사 네게서 떠나지 아니하시고 너를 버리지 아니하시리라 역대상 28:20 나는 앞쪽에서 급물살의 굉음이 들려올 때까지는 처음 해보는 급류에서 보트타기를 시작하며 즐기고 있었습니다. 그러자 불확실성과 공포, 불안감들이 한꺼번에 내 감정을 뒤덮어버렸습니다. 급류 사이를 타고 가는 것은 굉장한, 손에 땀을 쥐게 하는 경험이었습니다! 그리고는 다음 순간, 갑자기 그것이 끝나버렸습니다. 보트 뒤에 있던 가이드가 우리가 항해해 나갈 수 있게 도와주었습니다. 적어도 다음 급류를 만나기 전까지는 나는 안전했습니다. 우리 인생의 전환기도 이런 급류타기 경험과 같을 수 있습니다. 인생의 한 계절에서 다른 계절로 넘어가는 피할 수 없는 도약들, 즉 대학에서 직장으로, 이 직장에서 저 직장으로, 부모와 같이 살다가 혼자 살거나 배우자랑 살게 되는 것, 직장생활을 하다가 은퇴하는 것, 젊은 시절에서 노년시절로 넘어가는 것 등, 이 모두가 다 불확실성과 불안감으로 가득한 것들입니다. 구약 역사에 기록된 매우 중대한 전환기 중 한 시기에 솔로몬은 아버지 다윗으로부터 왕위를 이어 받았습니다. 솔로몬은 분명히 미래에 대한 불확실성으로 가득 찼을 것입니다. 그의 아버지의 조언은 무엇이었습니까? “너는 강하고 담대하게 이 일을 행하라…여호와 하나님 나의 하나님이 너와 함께 계시리라”(대상 28:20). 인생의 힘든 전환기에 우리가 견뎌내야 할 몫도 어느 정도 있습니다. 그러나 우리의 보트에 하나님이 함께 계시기에 우리는 혼자가 아닙니다. 급류 가운데서 항해하시는 주님께 계속 초점을 맞추면 우리는 기쁨과 안전을 누릴 수 있습니다. 주님은 이전에도 다른 많은 사람들을 그렇게 인도해 주셨습니다.

God guides us through the rapids of change.

9. "And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.
10. Consider now, for the LORD has chosen you to build a temple as a sanctuary. Be strong and do the work."
11. Then David gave his son Solomon the plans for the portico of the temple, its buildings, its storerooms, its upper parts, its inner rooms and the place of atonement.
12. He gave him the plans of all that the Spirit had put in his mind for the courts of the temple of the LORD and all the surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of the temple of God and for the treasuries for the dedicated things.
13. He gave him instructions for the divisions of the priests and Levites, and for all the work of serving in the temple of the LORD, as well as for all the articles to be used in its service.
14. He designated the weight of gold for all the gold articles to be used in various kinds of service, and the weight of silver for all the silver articles to be used in various kinds of service:
15. the weight of gold for the gold lampstands and their lamps, with the weight for each lampstand and its lamps; and the weight of silver for each silver lampstand and its lamps, according to the use of each lampstand;
16. the weight of gold for each table for consecrated bread; the weight of silver for the silver tables;
17. the weight of pure gold for the forks, sprinkling bowls and pitchers; the weight of gold for each gold dish; the weight of silver for each silver dish;
18. and the weight of the refined gold for the altar of incense. He also gave him the plan for the chariot, that is, the cherubim of gold that spread their wings and shelter the ark of the covenant of the LORD.
19. "All this," David said, "I have in writing from the hand of the LORD upon me, and he gave me understanding in all the details of the plan."
20. David also said to Solomon his son, "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.

하나님은 변화의 급류 가운데서 우리를 인도해주신다.

9. 내 아들 솔로몬아 너는 네 아버지의 하나님을 알고 온전한 마음과 기쁜 뜻으로 섬길지어다 여호와께서는 모든 마음을 감찰하사 모든 의도를 아시나니 네가 만일 그를 찾으면 만날 것이요 만일 네가 그를 버리면 그가 너를 영원히 버리시리라
10. 그런즉 이제 너는 삼갈지어다 여호와께서 너를 택하여 성전의 건물을 건축하게 하셨으니 힘써 행할지니라 하니라
11. 다윗이 성전의 복도와 그 집들과 그 곳간과 다락과 골방과 속죄소의 설계도를 그의 아들 솔로몬에게 주고
12. 또 그가 영감으로 받은 모든 것 곧 여호와의 성전의 뜰과 사면의 모든 방과 하나님의 성전 곳간과 성물 곳간의 설계도를 주고
13. 또 제사장과 레위 사람의 반열과 여호와의 성전에서 섬기는 모든 일과 여호와의 성전을 섬기는 데에 쓰는 모든 그릇의 양식을 설명하고
14. 또 모든 섬기는 데에 쓰는 금 기구를 만들 금의 무게와 모든 섬기는 데에 쓰는 은 기구를 만들 은의 무게를 정하고
15. 또 금 등잔대들과 그 등잔 곧 각 등잔대와 그 등잔을 만들 금의 무게와 은 등잔대와 그 등잔을 만들 은의 무게를 각기 그 기구에 알맞게 하고
16. 또 진설병의 각 상을 만들 금의 무게를 정하고 은상을 만들 은도 그렇게 하고
17. 갈고리와 대접과 종지를 만들 순금과 금 잔 곧 각 잔을 만들 금의 무게와 또 은 잔 곧 각 잔을 만들 은의 무게를 정하고
18. 또 향단에 쓸 순금과 또 수레 곧 금 그룹들의 설계도대로 만들 금의 무게를 정해 주니 이 그룹들은 날개를 펴서 여호와의 언약궤를 덮는 것이더라
19. 다윗이 이르되 여호와의 손이 내게 임하여 이 모든 일의 설계를 그려 나에게 알려 주셨느니라
20. 또 그의 아들 솔로몬에게 이르되 너는 강하고 담대하게 이 일을 행하라 두려워하지 말며 놀라지 말라 네가 여호와의 성전 공사의 모든 일을 마치기까지 여호와 하나님 나의 하나님이 너와 함께 계시사 네게서 떠나지 아니하시고 너를 버리지 아니하시리라
