Remember the Cross		십자가를 기억하라
[ Mark 15:19 - 15:39 ] - hymn 150 ¡°Surely this man was the Son of God!¡± Mark 15:39 In the church I attend, a large cross stands at the front of the sanctuary. It represents the original cross where Jesus died—the place where our sin intersected with His holiness. There God allowed His perfect Son to die for the sake of every wrong thing we have ever done, said, or thought. On the cross, Jesus finished the work that was required to save us from the death we deserve(Rom. 6:23). The sight of a cross causes me to consider what Jesus endured for us. Before being crucified, He was flogged and spit on. The soldiers hit Him in the head with sticks and got down on their knees in mock worship. They tried to make Him carry His own cross to the place where He would die, but He was too weak from the brutal flogging. At Golgotha, they hammered nails through His flesh to keep Him on the cross when they turned it upright. Those wounds bore the weight of His body as He hung there. Six hours later, Jesus took His final breath(Mark 15:37). A centurion who witnessed Jesus¡¯s death declared, ¡°Surely this man was the Son of God!¡±(v. 39). The next time you see the symbol of the cross, consider what it means to you. God¡¯s Son suffered and died there and then rose again to make eternal life possible. Jennifer Benson Schuldt		[ 마가복음 15:19 - 15:39 ] - 찬송가 150 장 이 사람은 진실로 하나님의 아들이었도다 마가복음 15:39 내가 다니는 교회의 본당 앞에는 아주 큰 십자가가 서 있습니다. 그것은 우리의 죄와 예수님의 거룩함이 교차하는 곳인, 예수님이 돌아가신 원래의 십자가를 상징합니다. 하나님은 우리들이 저질러온 온갖 잘못된 행동과 말, 생각 때문에 완전하신 그분의 아들을 십자가에 못 박히게 하셨습니다. 예수님은 죽을 수밖에 없는 우리를(롬 6:23) 구원하시는 데 요구되었던 일을 십자가 위에서 완수하셨습니다. 나는 십자가를 보면 우리를 위해 예수님이 당하신 고통들이 떠오릅니다. 주님은 십자가에 못 박히시기 전에 매질과 침 뱉음을 당하셨습니다. 군인들은 막대기로 머리를 때리고 무릎을 꿇고 앉아서 숭배하는 척하며 조롱했습니다. 그들은 강제로 예수님께 십자가를 지우고 사형장까지 끌고 가려 했지만, 그 전에 받은 잔인한 매질로 예수님은 이미 약해져 있었습니다. 골고다 언덕에 도착해서 십자가를 세울 때 그들은 주님의 몸이 떨어지지 않도록 주님의 살에 못을 박았고, 그 못 박힌 상처가 주님이 매달려 있는 동안 주님의 몸의 무게를 지탱했습니다. 그리고 여섯 시간 후 예수님은 마지막 숨을 거두셨습니다(막 15:37). 예수님의 죽음을 지켜보던 백부장은 “이 사람은 진실로 하나님의 아들이었도다”(39절)라고 선언했습니다. 이후에 당신이 십자가의 상징을 볼 때, 그것이 당신에게 무엇을 의미하는지 생각해보십시오. 하나님의 아들이 그곳에서 고통을 받고 돌아가셨고, 영생을 주시기 위해 다시 살아나셨습니다.

• Dear Jesus, I can¡¯t begin to thank You enough for taking care of my sin when You died on the cross. I acknowledge Your sacrifice, and I believe in the power of Your resurrection.

The cross of Christ reveals our sin at its worst and God¡¯s love at its best.

19. Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him. Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him.
20. And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him out to crucify him.

33. At the sixth hour darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour.
34. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" -- which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
35. When some of those standing near heard this, they said, "Listen, he's calling Elijah."
36. One man ran, filled a sponge with wine vinegar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink. "Now leave him alone. Let's see if Elijah comes to take him down," he said.
37. With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last.
38. The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.
39. And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, heard his cry and saw how he died, he said, "Surely this man was the Son of God!"

• 사랑하는 예수님, 십자가에서 돌아가시면서 내 죄를 대신해주신 주님께 어떻게 감사해야 할지 모르겠습니다. 주님의 희생에 감사드리며, 주님의 부활의 능력을 믿습니다.

그리스도의 십자가는 가장 나쁜 면으로는 우리의 죄를, 가장 좋은 면으로는 하나님의 사랑을 드러낸다.

20. 희롱을 다 한 후 자색 옷을 벗기고 도로 그의 옷을 입히고 십자가에 못 박으려고 끌고 나가니라
21. 마침 알렉산더와 루포의 아버지인 구레네 사람 시몬이 시골로부터 와서 지나가는데 그들이 그를 억지로 같이 가게 하여 예수의 십자가를 지우고

33. 제육시가 되매 온 땅에 어둠이 임하여 제구시까지 계속하더니
34. 제구시에 예수께서 크게 소리 지르시되 엘리 엘리 라마 사박다니 하시니 이를 번역하면 나의 하나님, 나의 하나님 어찌하여 나를 버리셨나이까 하는 뜻이라
35. 곁에 섰던 자 중 어떤 이들이 듣고 이르되 보라 엘리야를 부른다 하고
36. 한 사람이 달려가서 해면에 신 포도주를 적시어 갈대에 꿰어 마시게 하고 이르되 가만 두라 엘리야가 와서 그를 내려 주나 보자 하더라
37. 예수께서 큰 소리를 지르시고 숨지시니라
38. 이에 성소 휘장이 위로부터 아래까지 찢어져 둘이 되니라
39. 예수를 향하여 섰던 백부장이 그렇게 숨지심을 보고 이르되 이 사람은 진실로 하나님의 아들이었도다 하더라
