The Bible in One Year		삶의 목자
[ Genesis 48:8 - 48:16 ] - hymn 569 God . . . has been my shepherd all my life to this day. Genesis 48:15 When my son changed grades in school he cried, ¡°I want my teacher for life!¡± We had to help him realize that changing teachers is a part of life. We may wonder: Is there any relationship that can last a lifetime? Jacob, the patriarch, found out there is one. After living through many dramatic changes and losing loved ones along the way, he realized there had been a constant presence in his life. He prayed, ¡°May the God . . . who has been my shepherd all my life to this day . . . bless these boys¡±(Gen. 48:15–16). Jacob had been a shepherd, so he compared his relationship to God as that of a shepherd and his sheep. From the time a sheep is born through its growth to old age the shepherd cares for it day and night. He guides it during the day and protects it during the night. David, also a shepherd, had the same conviction, but he highlighted the eternal dimension to it when he said, ¡°I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever¡±(Ps. 23:6). Changing teachers is a part of life. But how good it is to know that we can have a relationship for life. The Shepherd has promised to be with us every day of our earthly existence(Matt. 28:20). And when life here ends, we will be closer to Him than ever. Keila Ochoa		[ 창세기 48:8 - 48:16 ] - 찬송가 569 장 나의 출생으로부터 지금까지 나를 기르신 하나님께서 창세기 48:15 학년이 바뀐 아들이 울며 말했습니다. “평생 같은 선생님이었으면 좋겠어요!” 우리는 아이에게 살면서 선생님도 바뀌는 것이라고 일러주어야 했습니다. 그런데 평생 이어질 수 있는 관계가 과연 있을까 우리는 궁금해 하기도 합니다. 족장이었던 야곱은 그런 관계가 있다는 것을 알게 되었습니다. 그동안 많은 극적인 변화를 겪고 또 사랑하는 이들을 잃은 후, 그는 그의 삶에 하나님이 늘 함께 하셨다는 것을 깨달았습니다. 그는 이렇게 기도했습니다. “나의 출생으로부터 지금까지 나를 기르신 하나님께서 … 이 아이들에게 복을 주시오며”(창 48:15-16). 야곱은 목자였기 때문에 하나님과의 관계를 목자와 양의 관계로 비교하였습니다. 양이 태어나서 자라고 늙을 때까지 목자는 밤낮으로 양을 돌봅니다. 낮에는 양을 이끌고 밤에는 양을 보호합니다. 목자였던 다윗도 역시 같은 생각을 갖고 있었습니다. 하지만 그는 “내가 여호와의 집에 영원히 살리로다”(시 23:6)라고 말함으로 그 관계의 영원한 면을 강조했습니다. 살면서 선생님은 바뀝니다. 하지만 우리는 평생 계속되는 관계를 가질 수 있다는 것을 알고 있으니 얼마나 다행한 일입니까! 목자 되시는 예수님은 우리가 이 땅에서 사는 동안 매일 우리와 함께 하시겠다고 약속하셨습니다(마 28:20). 그리고 이곳에서의 삶을 마칠 때 우리는 주님과 더욱 가까이 있게 될 것입니다.

• Father, I thank You for being the Shepherd of my life. I praise Your faithfulness.

God never abandons us.

8. When Israel saw the sons of Joseph, he asked, "Who are these?"
9. "They are the sons God has given me here," Joseph said to his father. Then Israel said, "Bring them to me so I may bless them."
10. Now Israel's eyes were failing because of old age, and he could hardly see. So Joseph brought his sons close to him, and his father kissed them and embraced them.
11. Israel said to Joseph, "I never expected to see your face again, and now God has allowed me to see your children too."
12. Then Joseph removed them from Israel's knees and bowed down with his face to the ground.
13. And Joseph took both of them, Ephraim on his right toward Israel's left hand and Manasseh on his left toward Israel's right hand, and brought them close to him.
14. But Israel reached out his right hand and put it on Ephraim's head, though he was the younger, and crossing his arms, he put his left hand on Manasseh's head, even though Manasseh was the firstborn.
15. Then he blessed Joseph and said, "May the God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day,
16. the Angel who has delivered me from all harm -- may he bless these boys. May they be called by my name and the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and may they increase greatly upon the earth."

• 하나님 아버지, 내 삶의 목자가 되어주셔서 감사합니다. 하나님의 신실하심을 찬양합니다.

하나님은 결코 우리를 버리지 않으신다.

8. 이스라엘이 요셉의 아들들을 보고 이르되 이들은 누구냐
9. 요셉이 그의 아버지에게 아뢰되 이는 하나님이 여기서 내게 주신 아들들이니이다 아버지가 이르되 그들을 데리고 내 앞으로 나아오라 내가 그들에게 축복하리라
10. 이스라엘의 눈이 나이로 말미암아 어두워서 보지 못하더라 요셉이 두 아들을 이끌어 아버지 앞으로 나아가니 이스라엘이 그들에게 입맞추고 그들을 안고
11. 요셉에게 이르되 내가 네 얼굴을 보리라고는 생각하지 못하였더니 하나님이 내게 네 자손까지도 보게 하셨도다
12. 요셉이 아버지의 무릎 사이에서 두 아들을 물러나게 하고 땅에 엎드려 절하고
13. 오른손으로는 에브라임을 이스라엘의 왼손을 향하게 하고 왼손으로는 므낫세를 이스라엘의 오른손을 향하게 하여 이끌어 그에게 가까이 나아가매
14. 이스라엘이 오른손을 펴서 차남 에브라임의 머리에 얹고 왼손을 펴서 므낫세의 머리에 얹으니 므낫세는 장자라도 팔을 엇바꾸어 얹었더라
15. 그가 요셉을 위하여 축복하여 이르되 내 조부 아브라함과 아버지 이삭이 섬기던 하나님, 나의 출생으로부터 지금까지 나를 기르신 하나님,
16. 나를 모든 환난에서 건지신 여호와의 사자께서 이 아이들에게 복을 주시오며 이들로 내 이름과 내 조상 아브라함과 이삭의 이름으로 칭하게 하시오며 이들이 세상에서 번식되게 하시기를 원하나이다
