Little Lies and Kittens		작은 거짓말과 새끼고양이
[ Romans 5:12 - 5:21 ] - hymn 260 Just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God¡¯s wonderful grace rules instead. Romans 5:21 NLT Mom noticed four-year-old Elias as he scurried away from the newborn kittens. She had told him not to touch them. ¡°Did you touch the kitties, Elias?¡± she asked. ¡°No!¡± he said earnestly. So Mom had another question: ¡°Were they soft?¡± ¡°Yes,¡± he volunteered, ¡°and the black one mewed.¡± With a toddler, we smile at such duplicity. But Elias¡¯s disobedience underscores our human condition. No one has to teach a four-year-old to lie. ¡°For I was born a sinner,¡± wrote David in his classic confession, ¡°yes, from the moment my mother conceived me¡± (Ps. 51:5 nlt). The apostle Paul said: ¡°When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam¡¯s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned¡± (Rom. 5:12 NLT). That depressing news applies equally to kings, four-year-olds, and you and me. But there¡¯s plenty of hope! ¡°God¡¯s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were,¡± wrote Paul. ¡°But as people sinned more and more, God¡¯s wonderful grace became more abundant¡± (Rom. 5:20 NLT). God is not waiting for us to blow it so He can pounce on us. He is in the business of grace, forgiveness, and restoration. We need only recognize that our sin is neither cute nor excusable and come to Him in faith and repentance. Tim Gustafson		[ 로마서 5:12 - 5:21 ] - 찬송가 260 장 죄가 사망 안에서 왕 노릇 한 것 같이 은혜도 또한 의로 말미암아 왕 노릇 하여 로마서 5:21 엄마는 4살짜리 꼬마 엘리아스가 갓 태어난 새끼고양이들에게서 당황해서 달아나는 것을 보았습니다. 그녀는 그에게 고양이를 만지지 말라고 일러두었었습니다. “엘리아스, 고양이를 만졌니?” 엄마가 물었습니다. “아니!” 그는 진지하게 말했습니다. 그래서 엄마는 다른 질문을 던졌습니다. “고양이들이 부드러웠니?” “응, 그런데 검은 놈이 야옹거렸어.” 그는 자발적으로 대답했습니다. 어린아이들이 이같이 거짓말을 할 때 우리는 미소 짓습니다. 하지만 엘리아스의 불순종은 우리 사람의 상태를 뚜렷이 보여줍니다. 어느 누구도 4살짜리 아이에게 거짓말을 가르칠 필요가 없습니다. 다윗은 그의 정평 있는 고백에서 “내가 죄악 중에서 출생하였음이여 어머니가 죄 중에서 나를 잉태하였나이다”(시 51:5)라고 기록하였습니다. 바울 사도도 이렇게 말했습니다. “그러므로 한 사람으로 말미암아 죄가 세상에 들어오고 죄로 말미암아 사망이 들어왔나니 이와 같이 모든 사람이 죄를 지었으므로 사망이 모든 사람에게 이르렀느니라”(롬 5:12). 이 우울한 소식은 왕과 4살짜리 꼬마, 그리고 당신과 나에게 모두 똑같이 적용됩니다. 하지만 희망은 충분합니다! “율법이 들어온 것은 범죄를 더하게 하려 함이라 그러나 죄가 더한 곳에 은혜가 더욱 넘쳤나니”(롬 5:20)라고 바울은 쓰고 있습니다. 하나님은 우리를 책망하시기 위해서 우리가 잘못하기를 기다리시는 것이 아닙니다. 하나님은 은혜와 용서와 회복의 일을 하고 계십니다. 우리는 오직 우리의 죄는 귀엽지도 않고 변명의 여지도 없으며, 회개와 믿음 안에서 하나님께로 나아가야 한다는 것을 알아야 합니다.

• Father, be merciful to me, a sinner.

There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1

12. Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned --
13. for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law.
14. Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come.
15. But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!
16. Again, the gift of God is not like the result of the one man's sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification.
17. For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.
18. Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men.
19. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
20. The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,
21. so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

• 하나님 아버지, 죄인인 저에게 자비를 베풀어주소서.

그러므로 이제 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 자에게는 결코 정죄함이 없나니 로마서 8:1

12. 그러므로 한 사람으로 말미암아 죄가 세상에 들어오고 죄로 말미암아 사망이 들어왔나니 이와 같이 모든 사람이 죄를 지었으므로 사망이 모든 사람에게 이르렀느니라
13. 죄가 율법 있기 전에도 세상에 있었으나 율법이 없었을 때에는 죄를 죄로 여기지 아니하였느니라
14. 그러나 아담으로부터 모세까지 아담의 범죄와 같은 죄를 짓지 아니한 자들까지도 사망이 왕 노릇 하였나니 아담은 오실 자의 모형이라
15. 그러나 이 은사는 그 범죄와 같지 아니하니 곧 한 사람의 범죄를 인하여 많은 사람이 죽었은즉 더욱 하나님의 은혜와 또한 한 사람 예수 그리스도의 은혜로 말미암은 선물은 많은 사람에게 넘쳤느니라
16. 또 이 선물은 범죄한 한 사람으로 말미암은 것과 같지 아니하니 심판은 한 사람으로 말미암아 정죄에 이르렀으나 은사는 많은 범죄로 말미암아 의롭다 하심에 이름이니라
17. 한 사람의 범죄로 말미암아 사망이 그 한 사람을 통하여 왕 노릇 하였은즉 더욱 은혜와 의의 선물을 넘치게 받는 자들은 한 분 예수 그리스도를 통하여 생명 안에서 왕 노릇 하리로다
18. 그런즉 한 범죄로 많은 사람이 정죄에 이른 것 같이 한 의로운 행위로 말미암아 많은 사람이 의롭다 하심을 받아 생명에 이르렀느니라
19. 한 사람이 순종하지 아니함으로 많은 사람이 죄인 된 것 같이 한 사람이 순종하심으로 많은 사람이 의인이 되리라
20. 율법이 들어온 것은 범죄를 더하게 하려 함이라 그러나 죄가 더한 곳에 은혜가 더욱 넘쳤나니
21. 이는 죄가 사망 안에서 왕 노릇 한 것 같이 은혜도 또한 의로 말미암아 왕 노릇 하여 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 영생에 이르게 하려 함이라
