The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly		좋은 일, 나쁜 일, 그리고 험악한 일
[ 1 Samuel 20:35 - 20:42 ] - hymn 90 Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. Hebrews 13:5 A dear friend of mine sent me a text message that said, ¡°I¡¯m so glad we can tell each other the good, the bad, and the ugly!¡± We have been friends for many years, and we have learned to share our joys and our failures. We recognize we are far from perfect, so we share our struggles but we also rejoice in each other¡¯s successes. David and Jonathan had a solid friendship too, beginning with the good days of David¡¯s victory over Goliath (1 Sam. 18:1–4). They shared their fears during the bad days of Jonathan¡¯s father¡¯s jealousy (18:6–11; 20:1–2). Finally, they suffered together during the ugly days of Saul¡¯s plans to kill David (20:42). Good friends don¡¯t abandon us when external circumstances change. They stay with us through the good and the bad days. Good friends also may point us to God in the ugly days, when we may feel tempted to walk away from our Lord. Real friendships are a gift from God because they exemplify the perfect Friend, who remains loyal through the good, the bad, and the ugly days. As the Lord reminds us, ¡°Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you¡± (Heb. 13:5). Keila Ochoa		[ 사무엘상 20:35 - 20:42 ] - 찬송가 90 장 내가 결코 너희를 버리지 아니하고 너희를 떠나지 아니하리라 히브리서 13:5 친한 친구가 “우리는 좋은 일, 나쁜 일, 그리고 험악한 일들을 서로 이야기할 수 있어서 기쁘다!”라고 문자메시지를 보내왔습니다. 우리는 오랫동안 친구로 지내오면서 기쁜 일이나 실망스러운 일들도 함께 나눌 줄 알게 되었습니다. 우리는 우리가 결코 완벽한 사람이 아니라는 것을 잘 알고 있기 때문에, 어려운 일들을 함께 나누기도 하고 서로의 성공을 함께 기뻐하기도 합니다. 다윗이 골리앗을 물리친 좋은 날들로부터 시작하여, 다윗과 요나단도 견고한 우정을 갖게 되었습니다(삼상 18:1-4). 요나단의 아버지가 다윗을 질투하는 나쁜 시간 동안에 그들은 두려움을 함께 나누었습니다(18:6-11; 20:1-2). 마침내 사울이 다윗을 죽이려고 계획했던 험악한 시간 동안에도 그들은 함께 고난을 겪었습니다(20:42). 좋은 친구는 외부의 환경이 바뀔 때 우리를 저버리지 않습니다. 그들은 좋을 때나 나쁠 때나 우리와 함께 합니다. 좋은 친구는 우리가 하나님을 떠나려는 유혹을 느낄 수도 있는 험악한 시기에 우리를 하나님 앞으로 이끌어줍니다. 진정한 우정은 하나님의 선물입니다, 왜냐하면 그러한 우정은 좋을 때나 나쁠 때나 험악할 때에 늘 충실하게 함께해 주시는 완벽한 친구이신 하나님을 보여주기 때문입니다. 주님은 우리에게 이렇게 상기시켜 주십니다. “내가 결코 너희를 버리지 아니하고 너희를 떠나지 아니하리라”(히 13:5).

• Dear Lord, I thank You for the good friends You have placed in my life, but above all, I thank You for Your friendship.

A friend is the first person who comes in when the whole world has gone out.

35. In the morning Jonathan went out to the field for his meeting with David. He had a small boy with him,
36. and he said to the boy, "Run and find the arrows I shoot." As the boy ran, he shot an arrow beyond him.
37. When the boy came to the place where Jonathan's arrow had fallen, Jonathan called out after him, "Isn't the arrow beyond you?"
38. Then he shouted, "Hurry! Go quickly! Don't stop!" The boy picked up the arrow and returned to his master.
39. (The boy knew nothing of all this; only Jonathan and David knew.)
40. Then Jonathan gave his weapons to the boy and said, "Go, carry them back to town."
41. After the boy had gone, David got up from the south side of the stone and bowed down before Jonathan three times, with his face to the ground. Then they kissed each other and wept together -- but David wept the most.
42. Jonathan said to David, "Go in peace, for we have sworn friendship with each other in the name of the LORD, saying, `The LORD is witness between you and me, and between your descendants and my descendants forever.'" Then David left, and Jonathan went back to the town.

• 사랑하는 주님, 제 삶 가운데 좋은 친구들을 주시니 감사합니다. 그러나 무엇보다 주님께서 베풀어주시는 우정에 감사드립니다.

친구란 세상 사람들이 모두 떠나버릴 때 제일 먼저 나를 찾아주는 사람이다.

35. 아침에 요나단이 작은 아이를 데리고 다윗과 정한 시간에 들로 나가서
36. 아이에게 이르되 달려가서 내가 쏘는 화살을 찾으라 하고 아이가 달려갈 때에 요나단이 화살을 그의 위로 지나치게 쏘니라
37. 아이가 요나단이 쏜 화살 있는 곳에 이를 즈음에 요나단이 아이 뒤에서 외쳐 이르되 화살이 네 앞쪽에 있지 아니하냐 하고
38. 요나단이 아이 뒤에서 또 외치되 지체 말고 빨리 달음질하라 하매 요나단의 아이가 화살을 주워 가지고 주인에게로 돌아왔으나
39. 그 아이는 아무것도 알지 못하고 요나단과 다윗만 그 일을 알았더라
40. 요나단이 그의 무기를 아이에게 주며 이르되 이것을 가지고 성읍으로 가라 하니
41. 아이가 가매 다윗이 곧 바위 남쪽에서 일어나서 땅에 엎드려 세 번 절한 후에 서로 입 맞추고 같이 울되 다윗이 더욱 심하더니
42. 요나단이 다윗에게 이르되 평안히 가라 우리 두 사람이 여호와의 이름으로 맹세하여 이르기를 여호와께서 영원히 나와 너 사이에 계시고 내 자손과 네 자손 사이에 계시리라 하였느니라 하니 다윗은 일어나 떠나고 요나단은 성읍으로 들어가니라
