Our Covering		우리를 덮고 있는 것
[ Romans 3:21 - 3:26 ] - hymn 268 Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. - Psalm 32:1 When talking about faith in Jesus, we sometimes use words without understanding or explaining them. One of those words is righteous. We say that God has righteousness and that He makes people righteous, but this can be a tough concept to grasp. The way the word righteousness is pictured in the Chinese language is helpful. It is a combination of two characters. The top word is lamb. The bottom word is me. The lamb covers or is above the person. When Jesus came to this world, John the Baptist called Him ¡°the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!¡±(John 1:29). We need our sin taken care of because it separates us from God whose character and ways are always perfect and right. Because His love for us is great, God made His Son Jesus ¡°who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God¡±(2 Cor.5:21). Jesus, the Lamb, sacrificed Himself and shed His blood. He became our ¡°cover.¡± He makes us righteous, which places us in right relationship with God. Being right with God is a gift from Him. Jesus, the Lamb, is God¡¯s way to cover us.		[ 로마서 3:21 - 3:26 ] - 찬송가 268 장 허물의 사함을 받고 자신의 죄가 가려진 자는 복이 있도다 - 시편 32:1 우리가 예수님을 믿는 믿음에 대해 이야기할 때 가끔은 뜻을 이해하지 못하거나 설명할 수 없는 말들을 사용할 때가 있습니다. 그 중 하나가 ‘의롭다’는 말입니다. 우리는 하나님은 ‘의로우시므로’ 사람들을 ‘의롭게’ 만드신다고 말합니다. 그러나 이 말은 이해하기 힘든 개념이기도 합니다. 그런데 중국어에서 ‘의롭다’는 말이 어떻게 생겼는지를 알면 도움이 됩니다. 중국어로 의(義)는 두 문자를 합친 것인데, 위의 문자는 ‘양’이고 아래 문자는 ‘나’입니다. 양이 사람을 덮어주고 있다, 혹은 양이 사람 위에 있다는 의미입니다. 예수님이 이 세상에 오셨을 때 세례 요한은 예수님을 가리켜 “세상 죄를 지고 가는 하나님의 어린양”(요 1:29)이라고 했습니다. 우리의 죄는 성품이나 그 하시는 일들이 언제나 완전하고 의로우신 하나님으로부터 우리를 분리시키기 때문에, 우리는 죄를 용서받아야 합니다. 우리를 향한 하나님의 사랑은 너무나 커서 “하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 이(그분의 아들 예수님)를 우리를 대신하여 죄를 삼으신 것은 우리로 하여금 그 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심”(고후 5:21)이었습니다. 어린 양이신 예수님은 자신을 희생하여 피를 흘리시고 우리를 “덮어주시는 분”이 되셨습니다. 예수님은 우리가 하나님과 올바른 관계를 맺을 수 있도록 우리를 의롭게 해주십니다. 하나님과 바른 관계가 된 것은 주님의 선물입니다. 어린양 예수님은 우리를 덮어주시려는 하나님의 방법인 것입니다.

Dear Lord, thank You for dying on the cross for me and covering my sins so that I can have a relationship with You.

The only permanent covering for sin is the blood of Christ.

Romans 3:21-26

[21] But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
[22] even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference;
[23] for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
[24] being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
[25] whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,
[26] to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

사랑하는 주님, 저를 위해 십자가에서 돌아가셔서 저의 죄를 덮어주심으로 주님과 관계를 갖게 해주신 것을 감사드립니다.

그리스도의 피만이 죄를 영원히 덮어버릴 수 있다.

로마서 3:21-26

[21] 이제는 율법 외에 하나님의 한 의가 나타났으니 율법과 선지자들에게 증거를 받은 것이라
[22] 곧 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암아 모든 믿는 자에게 미치는 하나님의 의니 차별이 없느니라
[23] 모든 사람이 죄를 범하였으매 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못하더니
[24] 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 속량으로 말미암아 하나님의 은혜로 값 없이 의롭다 하심을 얻은 자 되었느니라
[25] 이 예수를 하나님이 그의 피로써 믿음으로 말미암는 화목제물로 세우셨으니 이는 하나님께서 길이 참으시는 중에 전에 지은 죄를 간과하심으로 자기의 의로우심을 나타내려 하심이니
[26] 곧 이 때에 자기의 의로우심을 나타내사 자기도 의로우시며 또한 예수 믿는 자를 의롭다 하려 하심이라
