Another Side of Comfort		위로의 다른 면
[ Jeremiah 7:1 - 7:11 ] - hymn 424 Hear the word of the Lord. - Jeremiah 7:2 The theme for our adult camp was ¡°Comfort My People.¡± Speaker after speaker spoke words of assurance. But the last speaker drastically changed the tone. He chose Jeremiah 7:1–11 and the topic ¡°Wake Up from Slumber.¡± Without mincing words and yet with love, he challenged us to wake up and turn away from our sins. ¡°Don¡¯t hide behind the grace of God and continue to live in secret sin,¡± he exhorted, like the prophet Jeremiah. ¡°We boast, ¡®I am a Christian; God loves me; I fear no evil,¡¯ yet we do all kinds of evil.¡± We knew he cared about us, yet we shifted uncomfortably in our seats and listened to our own Jeremiah declare, ¡°God is loving, but He is also a consuming fire! (see Heb. 12:29). He will never condone sin!¡± Jeremiah of old quizzed the people, ¡°Will you steal and murder, commit adultery and perjury ... follow other gods you have not known, and then come and stand before me in this house, which bears my Name, and say, ¡®We are safe¡¯—safe to do all these detestable things?¡±(7:9–10). This speaker¡¯s brand of ¡°Comfort My People¡± was another side of God¡¯s comfort. Like a bitter herb that heals malaria, his words were spiritually curative. When we hear hard words, instead of walking away, may we respond to their healing effect.		[ 예레미야 7:1 - 7:11 ] - 찬송가 424 장 여호와의 말씀을 들으라 - 예레미야 7:2 이번 성인을 위한 캠프의 주제는 “내 백성을 위로하라”였습니다. 연사들은 연이어 나와서 위로가 되는 말들을 했는데, 마지막 연사가 그 분위기를 완전히 바꾸어버렸습니다. 그는 예레미야 7:1-11 말씀으로 “잠에서 깨어나라”라는 주제의 설교를 했습니다. 그는 우리에게 직설적이면서도 사랑이 가득한 말로 죄에서 깨어나 돌이키라고 하였습니다. 그는 선지자 예레미야처럼, “하나님의 은혜 뒤에 숨어 몰래 죄를 짓는 삶을 계속하지 말라”고 강조하면서 이렇게 말했습니다. “우리는 ‘나는 그리스도인이야. 하나님은 나를 사랑하셔. 난 어떤 악도 두렵지 않아.’라고 자만하면서 온갖 악한 일은 다 하고 있습니다.” 우리는 그가 우리를 염려해서 하는 말임을 알고 자세를 고쳐 앉아 우리에게 예레미야처럼 다가온 그의 말을 귀 기울여 들었습니다. “하나님은 사랑이시지만 또한 소멸하는 불이시기도 합니다!(히 12:29 참조). 그분은 결코 죄를 너그럽게 봐주지 않으실 것입니다!” 옛날의 예레미야도 사람들에게 이렇게 물었습니다. “너희가 도둑질하며 살인하며 간음하며 거짓 맹세하며…너희가 알지 못하는 다른 신들을 따르면서 내 이름으로 일컬음을 받는 이 집에 들어와서 내 앞에 서서 말하기를 우리가 구원을 얻었나이다 하느냐 이는 이 모든 가증한 일을 행하려 함이로다”(렘 7:9-10). “내 백성을 위로하라”라는 주제에 대한 이 연사의 특색 있는 설교는 하나님이 주시는 위로의 다른 면을 보여주었습니다. 말라리아를 치료하는 쓴 약초처럼 그의 말은 영적인 치료에 효력이 있었습니다. 우리가 따르기 힘든 말을 들을 때, 회피하지 말고 거기서 치유를 받고자 하는 태도를 가지시기 바랍니다.

Heavenly Father, You love us too much to let us continue defying Your instructions. Your correction is never to harm us but only to heal us. You are the God of all comfort.

God¡¯s discipline is designed to make us like His Son.

Jeremiah 7:1-11

[1] The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
[2] "Stand in the gate of the LORD'S house, and proclaim there this word, and say, 'Hear the word of the LORD, all you of Judah who enter in at these gates to worship the LORD!'"
[3] Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: "Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
[4] "Do not trust in these lying words, saying, 'The temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD are these.'
[5] "For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor,
[6] "if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, or walk after other gods to your hurt,
[7] "then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever.
[8] "Behold, you trust in lying words that cannot profit.
[9] "Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know,
[10] "and then come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say, 'We are delivered to do all these abominations'?
[11] "Has this house, which is called by My name, become a den of thieves in your eyes? Behold, I, even I, have seen it," says the LORD.

하나님 아버지, 아버지는 우리를 너무나 사랑하셔서 우리가 아버지의 말을 계속 거역하는 것을 내버려두지 못하십니다. 아버지의 징계는 결코 우리를 해하려 함이 아니라 오직 우리를 치유하기 위함입니다. 아버지는 모든 위로의 하나님이십니다.

하나님은 우리를 그분의 아들처럼 만들기 위해 훈련하신다.

예레미야 7:1-11

[1] 여호와께로부터 예레미야에게 말씀이 임하니라 이르시되
[2] 너는 여호와의 집 문에 서서 이 말을 선포하여 이르기를 여호와께 예배하러 이 문으로 들어가는 유다 사람들아 여호와의 말씀을 들으라
[3] 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님께서 이와 같이 말씀하시되 너희 길과 행위를 바르게 하라 그리하면 내가 너희로 이 곳에 살게 하리라
[4] 너희는 이것이 여호와의 성전이라, 여호와의 성전이라, 여호와의 성전이라 하는 거짓말을 믿지 말라
[5] 너희가 만일 길과 행위를 참으로 바르게 하여 이웃들 사이에 정의를 행하며
[6] 이방인과 고아와 과부를 압제하지 아니하며 무죄한 자의 피를 이 곳에서 흘리지 아니하며 다른 신들 뒤를 따라 화를 자초하지 아니하면
[7] 내가 너희를 이 곳에 살게 하리니 곧 너희 조상에게 영원무궁토록 준 땅에니라
[8] 보라 너희가 무익한 거짓말을 의존하는도다
[9] 너희가 도둑질하며 살인하며 간음하며 거짓 맹세하며 바알에게 분향하며 너희가 알지 못하는 다른 신들을 따르면서
[10] 내 이름으로 일컬음을 받는 이 집에 들어와서 내 앞에 서서 말하기를 우리가 구원을 얻었나이다 하느냐 이는 이 모든 가증한 일을 행하려 함이로다
[11] 내 이름으로 일컬음을 받는 이 집이 너희 눈에는 도둑의 소굴로 보이느냐 보라 나 곧 내가 그것을 보았노라 여호와의 말씀이니라
