Living in the Light		빛 가운데서 살아감
[ 1 John 2:3 - 2:11 ] - hymn 428 The darkness is passing and the true light is already shining. - 1 John 2:8 It was a dark morning. Low, steel-colored clouds filled the sky, and the atmosphere was so dim that I needed to turn on the lights in order to read a book. I had just settled in when the room suddenly filled with light. I looked up and saw that the wind was pushing the clouds to the east, clearing the sky and revealing the sun. As I went to the window to get a better look at the drama, a thought came to mind: ¡°The darkness is passing and the true light is already shining¡±(1 John 2:8). The apostle John wrote these words to believers as a message of encouragement. He went on to say, ¡°Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble¡±(v.10). By contrast, he equated hating people with roaming around in darkness. Hatred is disorienting; it takes away our sense of moral direction. Loving people is not always easy. Yet I was reminded as I looked out the window that frustration, forgiveness, and faithfulness are all part of maintaining a deep connection with the love and light of God. When we choose love instead of hate, we are showing our relationship with Him and reflecting His radiance to the world around us. ¡°God is light; in him there is no darkness at all¡±(1 John 1:5).		[ 요한1서 2:3 - 2:11 ] - 찬송가 428 장 어둠이 지나가고 참 빛이 벌써 비침이니라 - 요한1서 2:8 하늘에 잿빛 구름이 낮게 깔린 어두운 아침이었습니다. 주위가 너무 어두워서 책을 읽기 위해 불을 켜야 했습니다. 그런데 막 자리에 앉자 갑자기 방이 환해졌습니다. 고개를 들어 보니 바람이 구름을 동쪽으로 밀어내면서 하늘이 개이고 해가 나타났습니다. 이 광경을 더 잘 보려고 창가로 가는데 한 가지 생각이 떠올랐습니다. “어둠이 지나가고 참 빛이 벌써 비침이니라”(요일 2:8). 요한 사도는 이 말씀을 믿는 자들에게 격려의 메시지로 썼습니다. 그리고 계속해서 “그의 형제를 사랑하는 자는 빛 가운데 거하여 자기 속에 거리낌이 없으나”(10절), 그 반면에 미워하는 자들은 어둠 속에서 떠돌고 있는 것과 같다고 하였습니다. 미움은 마음을 혼란하게 하며 우리의 도덕적 방향 감각을 잃게 만듭니다. 사람을 사랑하는 것이 언제나 쉬운 일은 아닙니다. 그러나 그때 내가 창밖을 바라보는 순간, 좌절감, 용서, 그리고 신실함은 모두 사랑과 빛이신 하나님과 깊은 관계를 유지할 수 있게 해주는 부분들임을 기억하게 되었습니다. 우리가 미움 대신 사랑을 선택할 때, 우리는 우리와 주님과의 관계를 보여주고 주님의 광채를 우리 주위 세상에 비추는 것입니다. “하나님은 빛이시라 그에게는 어둠이 조금도 없으시다”(요일 1:5).

Dear God, help me to experience Your love more fully so that I can share it with others. I want to live in the light of Your grace and mercy.

Choosing to love people well shows the world what God is like.

1 John 2:3-11

[3] Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
[4] He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
[5] But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
[6] He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
[7] Brethren, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning.
[8] Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining.
[9] He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now.
[10] He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.
[11] But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

사랑하는 하나님, 하나님의 사랑을 좀 더 충만히 경험하여 다른 사람들과 그것을 나눌 수 있도록 도와주소서. 주님의 은혜와 자비의 빛 가운데 살기를 원합니다.

사람들을 사랑하면 세상에 하나님이 어떤 분이신가를 잘 보여줄 수 있다.

요한1서 2:3-11

[3] 우리가 그의 계명을 지키면 이로써 우리가 그를 아는 줄로 알 것이요
[4] 그를 아노라 하고 그의 계명을 지키지 아니하는 자는 거짓말하는 자요 진리가 그 속에 있지 아니하되
[5] 누구든지 그의 말씀을 지키는 자는 하나님의 사랑이 참으로 그 속에서 온전하게 되었나니 이로써 우리가 그의 안에 있는 줄을 아노라
[6] 그의 안에 산다고 하는 자는 그가 행하시는 대로 자기도 행할지니라
[7] 사랑하는 자들아 내가 새 계명을 너희에게 쓰는 것이 아니라 너희가 처음부터 가진 옛 계명이니 이 옛 계명은 너희가 들은 바 말씀이거니와
[8] 다시 내가 너희에게 새 계명을 쓰노니 그에게와 너희에게도 참된 것이라 이는 어둠이 지나가고 참빛이 벌써 비침이니라
[9] 빛 가운데 있다 하면서 그 형제를 미워하는 자는 지금까지 어둠에 있는 자요
[10] 그의 형제를 사랑하는 자는 빛 가운데 거하여 자기 속에 거리낌이 없으나
[11] 그의 형제를 미워하는 자는 어둠에 있고 또 어둠에 행하며 갈 곳을 알지 못하나니 이는 그 어둠이 그의 눈을 멀게 하였음이라
