[ Nahum 1:7 - 1:15 ] - hymn 104 Look, there on the mountains, the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims peace! - Nahum 1:15 World news bombards us from the Internet, television, radio, and mobile devices. The majority seems to describe what¡¯s wrong—crime, terrorism, war, and economic problems. Yet there are times when good news invades the darkest hours of sadness and despair—stories of unselfish acts, a medical breakthrough, or steps toward peace in war-scarred places. The words of two men recorded in the Old Testament of the Bible brought great hope to people weary of conflict. While describing God¡¯s coming judgment on a ruthless and powerful nation, Nahum said, ¡°Look, there on the mountains, the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims peace!¡± (Nah. 1:15). That news brought hope to all those oppressed by cruelty. A similar phrase occurs in the book of Isaiah: ¡°How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation¡±(Isa.52:7). Nahum and Isaiah¡¯s prophetic words of hope found their ultimate fulfillment at the first Christmas when the angel told the shepherds, ¡°Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord¡±(Luke 2:10–11). The most important headline in our lives every day is the very best news ever spoken—Christ the Savior is born!		[ 나훔 1:7 - 1:15 ] - 찬송가 104 장 볼지어다 아름다운 소식을 알리고 화평을 전하는 자의 발이 산 위에 있도다 - 나훔 1:15 세계의 뉴스들이 인터넷, 텔레비전, 라디오, 그리고 휴대용 기기들을 통해 우리에게 쏟아집니다. 대부분의 뉴스는 범죄, 테러, 전쟁, 그리고 경제 문제 등과 같은 나쁜 소식들 입니다. 그러나 때로는 슬픔과 절망으로 가득한 어두운 시간을 밀치고 들어오는 좋은 소식들도 있습니다. 자기를 희생하는 사람들의 이야기, 의학기술의 진보, 혹은 전쟁의 상처가 깊은 곳에서 들리는 평화의 소식 같은 것들입니다. 구약성경에는 전쟁에 지친 사람들에게 큰 희망을 주었던 두 사람의 말이 기록되어 있습니다. 나훔은 하나님의 심판이 무자비하고 힘센 나라에 임한다는 것을 말하면서 이렇게 선포했습니다. “볼지어다 아름다운 소식을 알리고 화평을 전하는 자의 발이 산 위에 있도다”(나 1:15). 그 소식은 박해 받고 있던 백성들에게 희망을 주었습니다. 비슷한 구절이 이사야서에도 있습니다. “좋은 소식을 전하며 평화를 공포하며 복된 좋은 소식을 가져오며 구원을 공포하며 시온을 향하여 이르기를 네 하나님이 통치하신다 하는 자의 산을 넘는 발이 어찌 그리 아름다운가”(사 52:7). 나훔과 이사야의 소망의 예언들은 첫 번째 크리스마스 때 천사가 목자들에게 “무서워하지 말라 보라 내가 온 백성에게 미칠 큰 기쁨의 좋은 소식을 너희에게 전하노라 오늘 다윗의 동네에 너희를 위하여 구주가 나셨으니 곧 그리스도 주시니라”(눅 2:10-11)라고 말했을 때 성취되었습니다. 우리 매일의 삶 가운데 가장 중요한 뉴스는 지금껏 최고의 뉴스였던, 구세주이신 그리스도께서 탄생하셨다는 것입니다.

Nahum 1:7-15

[7] The LORD is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.
[8] But with an overflowing flood He will make an utter end of its place, And darkness will pursue His enemies.
[9] What do you conspire against the LORD? He will make an utter end of it. Affliction will not rise up a second time.
[10] For while tangled like thorns, And while drunken like drunkards, They shall be devoured like stubble fully dried.
[11] From you comes forth one Who plots evil against the LORD, A wicked counselor.
[12] Thus says the LORD: "Though they are safe, and likewise many, Yet in this manner they will be cut down When he passes through. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more;
[13] For now I will break off his yoke from you, And burst your bonds apart."
[14] The LORD has given a command concerning you: "Your name shall be perpetuated no longer. Out of the house of your gods I will cut off the carved image and the molded image. I will dig your grave, For you are vile."
[15] Behold, on the mountains The feet of him who brings good tidings, Who proclaims peace! O Judah, keep your appointed feasts, Perform your vows. For the wicked one shall no more pass through you; He is utterly cut off.

[8] 그가 범람하는 물로 그 곳을 진멸하시고 자기 대적들을 흑암으로 쫓아내시리라
[9] 너희는 여호와께 대하여 무엇을 꾀하느냐 그가 온전히 멸하시리니 재난이 다시 일어나지 아니하리라
[10] 가시덤불 같이 엉크러졌고 술을 마신 것 같이 취한 그들은 마른 지푸라기 같이 모두 탈 것이거늘
[11] 여호와께 악을 꾀하는 한 사람이 너희 중에서 나와서 사악한 것을 권하는도다
[12] 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 그들이 비록 강하고 많을지라도 반드시 멸절을 당하리니 그가 없어지리라 내가 전에는 너를 괴롭혔으나 다시는 너를 괴롭히지 아니할 것이라
[13] 이제 네게 지운 그의 멍에를 내가 깨뜨리고 네 결박을 끊으리라
[14] 나 여호와가 네게 대하여 명령하였나니 네 이름이 다시는 전파되지 않을 것이라 내가 네 신들의 집에서 새긴 우상과 부은 우상을 멸절하며 네 무덤을 준비하리니 이는 네가 쓸모 없게 되었음이라
[15] 볼지어다 아름다운 소식을 알리고 화평을 전하는 자의 발이 산 위에 있도다 유다야 네 절기를 지키고 네 서원을 갚을지어다 악인이 진멸되었으니 그가 다시는 네 가운데로 통행하지 아니하리로다 하시니라
