[ Numbers 33:1 - 33:15 ] - hymn 429 At the Lord's command Moses recorded the stages in their journey. - Numbers 33:2 Numbers 33 is a chapter in the Bible we might pass by without reflection. It appears to be nothing more than a long list of places tracing Israel's pilgrimage from Rameses in Egypt to their arrival in the plains of Moab. But it must be important because it¡¯s the only section in Numbers that follows with the words: ¡°At the Lord¡¯s command Moses recorded ...¡±(v.2). Why keep a record of this? Could it be that this list provides a framework upon which the Israelites emerging from the wilderness could retrace that forty-year journey in their thoughts and recall God's faithfulness at each location? I envision an Israelite father, sitting near a campfire, reminiscing with his son: ¡°I will never forget Rephidim! I was dying of thirst, nothing but sand and sage for hundreds of miles. Then God directed Moses to take his staff and strike a rock—actually a hard slab of flint. I thought, What a futile gesture; he'll never get anything out of that stone. But to my amazement water gushed out of that rock! A generous flow that satisfied the thirst of the thousands of Israelites. I¡¯ll never forget that day!¡±(see Ps.114:8; Num.20:8–13; 33:14). So why not give it a try? Reflect on your life—stage by stage—and remember all the ways God has shown you His faithful, covenant love. - David Roper		[ 민수기 33:1 - 33:15 ] - 찬송가 429 장 모세가 여호와의 명대로 그 노정을 따라 그 진행한 것을 기록하였으니 - 민수기 33:2 민수기 33장은 별 생각 없이 지나쳐버리기 쉬운 성경의 한 장입니다. 그것은 단지 애굽의 라암셋으로부터 모압 평야에 이르기까지 이스라엘 민족이 거쳐 간 지명들을 길게 나열해놓은 것에 지나지 않는 것처럼 보입니다. 그러나 그것은 민수기에서 “모세가 여호와의 명대로…기록하였으니”(2절)라고 시작되는 유일한 부분이기에 중요하지 않을 수 없습니다. 왜 이것을 기록했을까요? 이스라엘 민족이 지난 40년 광야생활을 돌아보며 각 지역에서 경험한 하나님의 신실하심을 되돌아볼 수 있게 하는 기본 틀을 이 목록이 제공해주는 것일까요? 모닥불 옆에 앉아서 그의 아들에게 지난날을 회상해 들려주는 이스라엘의 한 아버지를 상상해봅니다. “난 르비딤을 결코 잊을 수 없어! 수백 마일의 모래와 샐비어 풀밖에 없는 광야에서 나는 목말라 죽어가고 있었지. 그때 하나님께서 모세에게 그의 지팡이를 들어 바위를 치라고 명하셨어. 실제로 아주 단단한 바위였지. ‘그 하찮은 행위로 그 바위에서 무얼 얻겠다고’라고 나는 생각했어. 그런데 정말 놀랍게도 그 바위에서 물이 세차게 흘러나오는 거야! 수많은 이스라엘 사람들의 갈증을 풀어준 고마운 물이었지. 난 그 날을 결코 잊을 수 없어!”(시 114:8; 민 20:8-13; 33:14 참조). 그러니 한번 시도해 보십시오. 당신의 삶을 단계별로 뒤돌아보면서, 하나님이 그분의 신실하신 언약의 사랑을 당신에게 보여주셨던 그 모든 길들을 기억하십시오.

Numbers 33:1–15, 36–37

[1] These are the journeys of the children of Israel, who went out of the land of Egypt by their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.
[2] Now Moses wrote down the starting points of their journeys at the command of the LORD. And these are their journeys according to their starting points:
[3] They departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the day after the Passover the children of Israel went out with boldness in the sight of all the Egyptians.
[4] For the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom the LORD had killed among them. Also on their gods the LORD had executed judgments.
[5] Then the children of Israel moved from Rameses and camped at Succoth.
[6] They departed from Succoth and camped at Etham, which is on the edge of the wilderness.
[7] They moved from Etham and turned back to Pi Hahiroth, which is east of Baal Zephon; and they camped near Migdol.
[8] They departed from before Hahiroth and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, went three days' journey in the Wilderness of Etham, and camped at Marah.
[9] They moved from Marah and came to Elim. At Elim were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees; so they camped there.
[10] They moved from Elim and camped by the Red Sea.
[11] They moved from the Red Sea and camped in the Wilderness of Sin.
[12] They journeyed from the Wilderness of Sin and camped at Dophkah.
[13] They departed from Dophkah and camped at Alush.
[14] They moved from Alush and camped at Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.
[15] They departed from Rephidim and camped in the Wilderness of Sinai.

[36] They moved from Ezion Geber and camped in the Wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh.
[37] They moved from Kadesh and camped at Mount Hor, on the boundary of the land of Edom.

[1] 모세와 아론의 인도로 대오를 갖추어 애굽을 떠난 이스라엘 자손들의 노정은 이러하니라
[2] 모세가 여호와의 명령대로 그 노정을 따라 그들이 행진한 것을 기록하였으니 그들이 행진한 대로의 노정은 이러하니라
[3] 그들이 첫째 달 열다섯째 날에 라암셋을 떠났으니 곧 유월절 다음 날이라 이스라엘 자손이 애굽 모든 사람의 목전에서 큰 권능으로 나왔으니
[4] 애굽인은 여호와께서 그들 중에 치신 그 모든 장자를 장사하는 때라 여호와께서 그들의 신들에게도 벌을 주셨더라
[5] 이스라엘 자손이 라암셋을 떠나 숙곳에 진을 치고
[6] 숙곳을 떠나 광야 끝 에담에 진을 치고
[7] 에담을 떠나 바알스본 앞 비하히롯으로 돌아가서 믹돌 앞에 진을 치고
[8] 하히롯 앞을 떠나 광야를 바라보고 바다 가운데를 지나 에담 광야로 사흘 길을 가서 마라에 진을 치고
[9] 마라를 떠나 엘림에 이르니 엘림에는 샘물 열둘과 종려 칠십 그루가 있으므로 거기에 진을 치고
[10] 엘림을 떠나 홍해 가에 진을 치고
[11] 홍해 가를 떠나 신 광야에 진을 치고
[12] 신 광야를 떠나
[13] 돕가에 진을 치고 돕가를 떠나 알루스에 진을 치고
[14] 알루스를 떠나 르비딤에 진을 쳤는데 거기는 백성이 마실 물이 없었더라
[15] 르비딤을 떠나 시내 광야에 진을 치고

[36] 에시온게벨을 떠나 신 광야 곧 가데스에 진을 치고
[37] 가데스를 떠나 에돔 땅 변경의 호르 산에 진을 쳤더라
