[ Luke 5:27 - 5:32 ] - hymn 461 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. - Luke 5:32 The much-prayed-for film night at the church youth club had finally arrived. Posters had been displayed all around the village and pizzas were warming in the oven. Steve, the youth pastor, hoped that the film—about gang members in New York who were brought face-to-face with the claims of Jesus by a young pastor—would bring new recruits to the club. But he hadn¡¯t realized that a key football match was being shown on television that evening, so attendance was much smaller than he had hoped for. Sighing inwardly, he was about to dim the lights and begin the film when five leather-clad members of the local motorbike club came in. Steve went pale. The leader of the group, who was known as TDog, nodded in Steve¡¯s direction. ¡°It¡¯s free and for everyone, right?¡± he said. Steve opened his mouth to say, ¡°Youth club members only¡± when TDog bent down and picked up a bracelet with the letters WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) stamped on it. ¡°This yours, mate?¡± he asked. Steve nodded, hot with embarrassment, and waited while the new guests found a seat. Have you ever been in Steve¡¯s situation? You long to share the good news about Jesus, but you have a mental list of the ¡°right¡± people who would be acceptable? Jesus was often criticized by the religious authorities for the company He kept. But He welcomed those everyone else avoided, because He knew they needed Him most (Luke 5:31–32).		[ 누가복음 5:27 - 5:32 ] - 찬송가 461 장 내가 의인을 부르러 온 것이 아니요 죄인을 불러 회개시키러 왔노라 - 누가복음 5:32 드디어 교회 청년부가 열심히 기도로 준비했던 영화관람의 밤이 되었습니다. 온 동네에 광고지가 붙었고 따뜻한 피자가 오븐에서 준비되고 있었습니다. 청년부 담당목사 스티브는 뉴욕의 폭력조직 단원들이 어떤 젊은 목사에 의해 예수님 앞으로 직접 나아온 내용을 담은 이 영화로 청년부에 새로운 가입자가 생겨나기를 바랐습니다. 그러나 스티브는 같은 날 저녁에 텔레비전에서 중요한 미식축구 경기가 중계된다는 것을 몰랐고, 결국 기대했던 것보다 훨씬 적은 수의 사람들이 영화를 보러 왔습니다. 속으로 한숨을 쉬며 조명을 낮추고 영화를 막 시작하려는 순간, 가죽옷을 입은 그 동네의 오토바이클럽 멤버 다섯 명이 들어왔습니다. 스티브의 얼굴은 창백해졌습니다. 티독이라 알려진 그들의 리더가 스티브를 향해 고갯짓을 하며, “이거 공짜이고 누구나 볼 수 있는 거 맞지?”라고 했습니다. 스티브가 “청년부만 해당됩니다”라고 입을 떼려는데, 티독이 몸을 굽혀 바닥에 떨어진 WWJD(What Would Jesus Do, 예수님이라면 어떻게 하실까)라는 글자가 새겨진 팔찌를 집어 들고 “이거 네 꺼야?”라고 물었습니다. 스티브는 당황해서 화끈거리는 얼굴로 고개를 끄덕였고, 그들이 자리를 잡는 동안 기다렸습니다. 당신도 스티브와 같은 상황에 처해본 적이 있습니까? 예수님에 관한 복음을 나누고자 하면서도, 마음속에 복음을 받아들이기에 ‘적합한’ 사람들의 명단을 이미 정해놓고 있었던 경우 말입니다. 예수님은 주님과 함께 있던 사람들 때문에 종교지도자들로부터 자주 비난을 받았지만, 주님은 모두가 꺼려하는 사람들을 기꺼이 맞이하셨습니다. 왜냐면 그들에게 주님이 가장 필요하다는 것을 주님은 아셨기 때문입니다(눅 5:31-32).

Lord, please help me to see people through Your eyes of love and to welcome all those You bring into my life.

A heart that is open to Christ will be open to those He loves.

Luke 5:27–32

[27] After these things He went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, "Follow Me."
[28] So he left all, rose up, and followed Him.
[29] Then Levi gave Him a great feast in his own house. And there were a great number of tax collectors and others who sat down with them.
[30] And their scribes and the Pharisees complained against His disciples, saying, "Why do You eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?"
[31] Jesus answered and said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.
[32] "I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."

주님, 주님의 사랑의 눈으로 사람들을 보고, 주님이 내 삶 속에 허락하신 모든 이들을 환영할 수 있게 도와주소서.

주님께 열린 마음은 주님이 사랑하는 사람들에게도 열린다.

누가복음 5:27–32

[27] 그 후에 예수께서 나가사 레위라 하는 세리가 세관에 앉아 있는 것을 보시고 나를 따르라 하시니
[28] 그가 모든 것을 버리고 일어나 따르니라
[29] 레위가 예수를 위하여 자기 집에서 큰 잔치를 하니 세리와 다른 사람이 많이 함께 앉아 있는지라
[30] 바리새인과 그들의 서기관들이 그 제자들을 비방하여 이르되 너희가 어찌하여 세리와 죄인과 함께 먹고 마시느냐
[31] 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 건강한 자에게는 의사가 쓸 데 없고 병든 자에게라야 쓸 데 있나니
[32] 내가 의인을 부르러 온 것이 아니요 죄인을 불러 회개시키러 왔노라
