[ John 4:7 - 4:15 ] - hymn 526 The water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life. - John 4:14 Because it is so difficult in parts of the world to find clean drinking water, an organization called Water Is Life developed a wonderful resource called ¡°The Drinkable Book.¡± The paper in the book is coated in silver nanoparticles that filter out almost 99.9 percent of harmful bacteria! Each tear-out page can be used and reused to filter up to 100 liters of water at the cost of only four pennies per page. The Bible is also an unusually ¡°drinkable¡± Book. In John 4, we read of a particular kind of thirst and a special kind of water. The woman at the well needed much more than to quench her physical thirst with clean, clear liquid. She was desperate to know the source of ¡°living water.¡± She needed the grace and forgiveness that comes from God alone. God¡¯s Word is the ultimate ¡°drinkable¡± Book that points to God¡¯s Son as the sole source of ¡°living water.¡± And those who accept the water that Jesus gives will experience ¡°a spring of water welling up to eternal life¡±(v.14).		[ 요한복음 4:7 - 4:15 ] - 찬송가 526 장 내가 주는 물은 그 속에서 영생하도록 솟아나는 샘물이 되리라 - 요한복음 4:14 세계 곳곳에서 마실 수 있는 깨끗한 물을 찾기가 아주 힘든 상황에서, 〈물이 생명이다〉라는 이름의 한 단체에서 ‘마실 수 있는 책’이라는 훌륭한 자원을 개발했습니다. 그 책의 종이는 해로운 박테리아를 거의 99.9퍼센트 걸러내는 은 나노입자로 코팅되어 있습니다. 한 장 한 장 뜯어낼 수 있는 책의 종이는 반복해서 사용하여 100 리터나 되는 물을 거를 수 있는데, 그 비용은 한 장당 단돈 4센트밖에 되지 않습니다. 성경 또한 특이하게 ‘마실 수 있는’ 책입니다. 요한복음 4장에는 특별한 종류의 갈증과 물에 대해 기록되어 있습니다. 우물가에 나온 여인은 그녀의 육신의 갈증을 풀어줄 깨끗하고 시원한 물 이상의 무엇인가가 필요했습니다. 그녀에게는 ‘생수’의 원천을 아는 것이 절박했습니다. 그녀는 오직 하나님께로부터만 오는 은혜와 용서가 필요했습니다. 하나님의 말씀인 성경은 ‘생수’의 유일한 원천이신 하나님의 아들 예수님을 가리키는, 근본적인 “마실 수 있는” 책입니다. 예수님이 주는 물을 마시는 자는 “영생하도록 솟아나는 샘물”(14절)을 경험하게 될 것입니다.

Father, we yearn for the satisfaction that only You can give. Help us discard the things that leave us empty and thirsting, and exchange them for the satisfaction of the living water You offer.

Jesus is the sole source of living water.

John 4:7–15

[7] A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, 'Give Me a drink."
[8] For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
[9] Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?" For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.
[10] Jesus answered and said to her, 'If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water."
[11] The woman said to Him, "Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water?
[12] "Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?"
[13] Jesus answered and said to her, 'Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,
[14] 'but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life."
[15] The woman said to Him, "Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw."

하나님 아버지, 오직 주님만이 주실 수 있는 만족을 갈망합니다. 우리에게 공허와 갈증을 가져다주는 것들을 버리고, 주님이 주시는 생수의 만족과 바꾸게 하소서.

예수님은 생수의 유일한 원천이시다.

요한복음 4:7–15

[7] 사마리아 여자 한 사람이 물을 길으러 왔으매 예수께서 물을 좀 달라 하시니
[8] 이는 제자들이 먹을 것을 사러 그 동네에 들어갔음이러라
[9] 사마리아 여자가 이르되 당신은 유대인으로서 어찌하여 사마리아 여자인 나에게 물을 달라 하나이까 하니 이는 유대인이 사마리아인과 상종하지 아니함이러라
[10] 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 네가 만일 하나님의 선물과 또 네게 물 좀 달라 하는 이가 누구인 줄 알았더라면 네가 그에게 구하였을 것이요 그가 생수를 네게 주었으리라
[11] 여자가 이르되 주여 물 길을 그릇도 없고 이 우물은 깊은데 어디서 당신이 그 생수를 얻겠사옵나이까
[12] 우리 조상 야곱이 이 우물을 우리에게 주셨고 또 여기서 자기와 자기 아들들과 짐승이 다 마셨는데 당신이 야곱보다 더 크니이까
[13] 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 이 물을 마시는 자마다 다시 목마르려니와
[14] 내가 주는 물을 마시는 자는 영원히 목마르지 아니하리니 내가 주는 물은 그 속에서 영생하도록 솟아나는 샘물이 되리라
[15] 여자가 이르되 주여 그런 물을 내게 주사 목마르지도 않고 또 여기 물 길으러 오지도 않게 하옵소서
