A Bubble Break		비눗방울이 준 휴식
[ 2 Corinthians 4:7 - 4:18 ] - hymn 301 We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. - 2 Corinthians 4:18 A young boy showered my husband, Carl, and me with bubbles as he came running by us on the Atlantic City boardwalk. It was a light and fun moment on a difficult day. We had come to the city to visit our brother-in-law in the hospital and to help Carl¡¯s sister who was struggling and having trouble getting to her doctors¡¯ appointments. So as we took a break and walked along the seaside boardwalk we were feeling a bit overwhelmed by the needs of our family. Then came the bubbles. Just bubbles blown at us whimsically by a little boy in the ocean breeze—but they had a special significance to me. I love bubbles and keep a bottle in my office to use whenever I need the smile of a bubble break. Those bubbles and the vast Atlantic Ocean reminded me of what I can count on: God is always close. He is powerful. He always cares. And He can use even the smallest experiences, and briefest moments, to help us remember that His presence is like an ocean of grace in the middle of our heavy moments. Maybe one day our troubles will seem like bubbles—momentary in light of eternity for ¡°what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal¡±(2 Cor.4:18). - Anne Cetas		[ 고린도후서 4:7 - 4:18 ] - 찬송가 301 장 우리가 주목하는 것은 보이는 것이 아니요 보이지 않는 것이니 - 고린도후서 4:18 아틀랜틱시티 해변의 산책로를 남편 카알과 함께 걷고 있을 때, 한 어린 소년이 우리 옆을 지나 뛰어가며 우리에게 비눗방울 세례를 퍼부었습니다. 힘든 하루 중 모처럼 경쾌하고 재미있는 순간이었습니다. 우리는 병원에 입원 중인 시아주버니를 찾아보고, 또 건강이 좋지 않음에도 의사와의 예약이 여의치 않은 남편의 누이를 돕기 위해 이 도시를 방문했던 것이었습니다. 그래서 잠시 쉬려고 해변의 산책로를 걸으면서도 우리 가족이 처한 어려움 때문에 마음이 좀 무거웠습니다. 그때 비눗방울들이 날아온 것입니다. 어린 소년이 날린 비눗방울들이 바닷바람에 날려 묘하게 우리에게 날아왔는데, 그것들이 나에게 특별한 의미로 다가왔습니다. 평소에 비눗방울을 좋아해서 사무실에 비눗방울 통을 놔두고 잠시 웃음이 필요한 휴식 시간 때마다 내가 직접 불곤 했기 때문입니다. 비눗방울과 드넓은 대서양은 내가 늘 믿을 수 있는 한 가지 사실을 상기시켜주었습니다. 그것은 하나님이 언제나 가까이 계신다는 것입니다. 하나님은 능력이 있으시며 언제나 우리를 돌보아주십니다. 그리고 아주 사소한 경험이나 아주 짧은 순간들을 사용하셔서, 우리가 힘든 상황 속에 처했을 때 하나님이 은혜의 바다 같이 임하신다는 것을 기억할 수 있도록 도와주십니다. 언젠가 우리의 어려움들은 비눗방울처럼, 영원이라는 관점에서는 한 순간에 지나지 않는 것이 될 것입니다. “보이는 것은 잠깐이요 보이지 않는 것은 영원함이라”(고후 4:18).

Jesus provides an oasis of grace in the desert of trials.

2 Corinthians 4:7–18

[7] But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
[8] We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
[9] persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed--
[10] always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.
[11] For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus' sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
[12] So then death is working in us, but life in you.
[13] And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed and therefore I spoke," we also believe and therefore speak,
[14] knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you.
[15] For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.
[16] Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
[17] For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,
[18] while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

힘들었을 때 하나님께서 당신에게 주신 은혜의 선물이 무엇입니까? 당신은 어떻게 다른 사람들에게 축복이 될 수 있을까요?

예수님은 시련의 사막에서 은혜의 오아시스를 제공해주신다.

고린도후서 4:7–18

[7] 우리가 이 보배를 질그릇에 가졌으니 이는 심히 큰 능력은 하나님께 있고 우리에게 있지 아니함을 알게 하려 함이라
[8] 우리가 사방으로 우겨쌈을 당하여도 싸이지 아니하며 답답한 일을 당하여도 낙심하지 아니하며
[9] 박해를 받아도 버린 바 되지 아니하며 거꾸러뜨림을 당하여도 망하지 아니하고
[10] 우리가 항상 예수의 죽음을 몸에 짊어짐은 예수의 생명이 또한 우리 몸에 나타나게 하려 함이라
[11] 우리 살아 있는 자가 항상 예수를 위하여 죽음에 넘겨짐은 예수의 생명이 또한 우리 죽을 육체에 나타나게 하려 함이라
[12] 그런즉 사망은 우리 안에서 역사하고 생명은 너희 안에서 역사하느니라
[13] 기록된 바 내가 믿었으므로 말하였다 한 것 같이 우리가 같은 믿음의 마음을 가졌으니 우리도 믿었으므로 또한 말하노라
[14] 주 예수를 다시 살리신 이가 예수와 함께 우리도 다시 살리사 너희와 함께 그 앞에 서게 하실 줄을 아노라
[15] 이는 모든 것이 너희를 위함이니 많은 사람의 감사로 말미암아 은혜가 더하여 넘쳐서 하나님께 영광을 돌리게 하려 함이라
[16] 그러므로 우리가 낙심하지 아니하노니 우리의 겉사람은 낡아지나 우리의 속사람은 날로 새로워지도다
[17] 우리가 잠시 받는 환난의 경한 것이 지극히 크고 영원한 영광의 중한 것을 우리에게 이루게 함이니
[18] 우리가 주목하는 것은 보이는 것이 아니요 보이지 않는 것이니 보이는 것은 잠깐이요 보이지 않는 것은 영원함이라
