[ 1 Thessalonians 1:1 - 1:10 ] - hymn 455 You became imitators of us and of the Lord. - 1 Thessalonians 1:6 ¡°Today we¡¯re going to play a game called Imitation,¡± our children¡¯s minister told the kids gathered around him for the children¡¯s sermon. ¡°I¡¯ll name something and you act out what it does. Ready? Chicken!¡± The kids flapped their arms, cackled, and crowed. Next it was elephant, then football player, and then ballerina. The last one was Jesus. While many of the children hesitated, one six-year-old with a big smile on his face immediately threw his arms wide open in welcome. The congregation applauded. How easily we forget that our calling is to be like Jesus in the everyday situations of life. ¡°Follow God¡¯s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God¡±(Eph.5:1–2). The apostle Paul commended the followers of Jesus in Thessalonica for the outward demonstration of their faith in difficult circumstances. ¡°You became imitators of us and of the Lord,¡± Paul wrote. ¡°And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia¡±(1 Thess.1:6–7). It is the life of Jesus in us that encourages and enables us to walk through this world as He did—with the good news of God¡¯s love and with arms open wide in welcome to all. - David McCasland		[ 데살로니가전서 1:1 - 1:10 ] - 찬송가 455 장 너희는…우리와 주를 본받은 자가 되었으니 - 데살로니가전서 1:6 어린이 담당 교역자가 설교를 들으려고 모여 있는 아이들에게 말했습니다. “오늘 우리는 ‘흉내 내기’ 게임을 할 거예요. 내가 무언가를 말하면 여러분은 거기에 맞는 몸짓을 하는 거예요. 준비됐죠? 그럼, ‘닭’!” 아이들은 그들의 팔을 퍼덕거리고, 꼬꼬댁거리며, 홰를 치면서 닭 우는 소리를 냈습니다. 그 다음에는 ‘코끼리’, ‘축구선수’, ‘발레리나’였습니다. 마지막에는 ‘예수님’이었는데, 많은 아이들이 머뭇거리고 있을 때, 여섯 살짜리 아이가 미소를 크게 지으며 바로 팔을 벌려 모두를 환영하는 모습을 취했습니다. 모두가 다 박수갈채를 보냈습니다. 우리는 우리의 소명이 삶의 모든 상황에서 예수님처럼 행하는 것이라는 사실을 얼마나 쉽게 잊어버리는지 모릅니다. “그러므로 사랑을 받는 자녀같이 너희는 하나님을 본받는 자가 되고 그리스도께서 너희를 사랑하신 것같이 너희도 사랑 가운데서 행하라 그는 우리를 위하여 자신을 버리사 향기로운 제물과 희생 제물로 하나님께 드리셨느니라”(엡 5:1-2). 바울 사도는 어려운 환경 가운데서도 데살로니가 교인들이 그들의 믿음대로 사는 모습을 보여준 것에 대하여 칭찬하였습니다. “너희는…우리와 주를 본받은 자가 되었으니 그러므로 너희가 마게도냐와 아가야에 있는 모든 믿는 자의 본이 되었느니라”(살전 1:6-7). 예수님이 하나님의 사랑의 복음으로 팔을 활짝 펴 모든 사람들을 맞아주신 것처럼, 우리 안에 계신 예수님의 삶이 우리를 권면하여 우리로 하여금 이 세상을 헤쳐 나갈 수 있게 해줍니다.

Lord Jesus, may Your words of invitation and welcome, ¡°Come to Me,¡± be lived out through our lives today.

Jesus¡¯s arms of welcome are always open.

1 Thessalonians 1:1–10

[1] Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
[2] We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers,
[3] remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father,
[4] knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God.
[5] For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake.
[6] And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,
[7] so that you became examples to all in Macedonia and Achaia who believe.
[8] For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith toward God has gone out, so that we do not need to say anything.
[9] For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,
[10] and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

주 예수님, “내게로 오라”는 주님의 초청과 환영의 말씀이 오늘 우리의 삶속에 나타나게 해주소서.

예수님의 환영하시는 팔은 언제나 열려 있다.

데살로니가전서 1:1–10

[1] 바울과 실루아노와 디모데는 하나님 아버지와 주 예수 그리스도 안에 있는 데살로니가인의 교회에 편지하노니 은혜와 평강이 너희에게 있을지어다
[2] 우리가 너희 모두로 말미암아 항상 하나님께 감사하며 기도할 때에 너희를 기억함은
[3] 너희의 믿음의 역사와 사랑의 수고와 우리 주 예수 그리스도에 대한 소망의 인내를 우리 하나님 아버지 앞에서 끊임없이 기억함이니
[4] 하나님의 사랑하심을 받은 형제들아 너희를 택하심을 아노라
[5] 이는 우리 복음이 너희에게 말로만 이른 것이 아니라 또한 능력과 성령과 큰 확신으로 된 것임이라 우리가 너희 가운데서 너희를 위하여 어떤 사람이 된 것은 너희가 아는 바와 같으니라
[6] 또 너희는 많은 환난 가운데서 성령의 기쁨으로 말씀을 받아 우리와 주를 본받은 자가 되었으니
[7] 그러므로 너희가 마게도냐와 아가야에 있는 모든 믿는 자의 본이 되었느니라
[8] 주의 말씀이 너희에게로부터 마게도냐와 아가야에만 들릴 뿐 아니라 하나님을 향하는 너희 믿음의 소문이 각처에 퍼졌으므로 우리는 아무 말도 할 것이 없노라
[9] 그들이 우리에 대하여 스스로 말하기를 우리가 어떻게 너희 가운데에 들어갔는지와 너희가 어떻게 우상을 버리고 하나님께로 돌아와서 살아 계시고 참되신 하나님을 섬기는지와
[10] 또 죽은 자들 가운데서 다시 살리신 그의 아들이 하늘로부터 강림하실 것을 너희가 어떻게 기다리는지를 말하니 이는 장래의 노하심에서 우리를 건지시는 예수시니라
