No Fear		두려움 없이
[ Luke 2:8 - 2:20 ] - hymn 134 The angel said to them, ¡°Do not be afraid.¡±- Luke 2:10 Nearly every time an angel appears in the Bible, the first words he says are, ¡°Do not be afraid¡±(Dan.10:12,19; Matt.28:5; Rev.1:17). Little wonder. When the supernatural makes contact with planet Earth, it usually leaves the human observers flat on their faces in catatonic fear. But Luke tells of God making an appearance on earth in a form that does not frighten. In Jesus, born in a barn and laid in a feeding trough, God finds at last a mode of approach that we need not fear. What could be less scary than a newborn baby? Puzzled skeptics stalked Jesus throughout His ministry. How could a baby in Bethlehem, a carpenter¡¯s son, be the Messiah from God? But a group of shepherds in a field had no doubt about who He was, for they heard the message of good news straight from a choir of angels (2:8–14). Why did God take on human form? The Bible gives many reasons, some densely theological and some quite practical; but the scene of Jesus as an adolescent lecturing rabbis in the temple gives one clue (v.46). For the first time, ordinary people could hold a conversation, a debate, with God in visible form. Jesus could talk to anyone—His parents, a rabbi, a poor widow—without first having to announce, ¡°Don¡¯t be afraid.¡±		[ 누가복음 2:8 - 2:20 ] - 찬송가 134 장 천사가 이르되 무서워하지 말라 - 누가복음 2:10 성경에서 천사가 등장할 때는 거의 언제나 그 첫마디가 “두려워하지 말라”(단 10:12, 19; 마 28:5; 계 1:17)입니다. 그럴 만도 합니다. 초자연적인 존재가 지구와 접촉할 때 이를 목격하는 인간들은 너무나 두렵고 떨려 얼굴이 땅에 닿도록 납작 엎드리게 되니까요. 그렇지만 누가는 하나님이 세상에 공포감을 주지 않는 모습으로 나타나심을 말해줍니다. 마구간에서 나셔서 구유에 뉘이신 예수님을 통해, 하나님은 마침내 우리가 두려워할 필요가 없는 형태로 다가오십니다. 갓 태어난 신생아보다 덜 무서운 존재가 어디 있을까요? 혼란에 빠진 회의론자들은 예수님의 사역 기간 내내 예수님을 쫓아다녔습니다. ‘베들레헴에서 태어난 아기가, 그리고 목수의 아들이 어떻게 하나님이 보내신 메시아일 수가 있을까?’ 그렇지만 들에 있던 목자들은 천사들의 합창을 통해 복음의 메시지를 직접 들었기 때문에 그분이 누구신지에 대해 의심하지 않았습니다(눅 2:8-14). 왜 하나님은 인간의 모습을 취하셨을까요? 성경은 여러 가지 이유들을 들고 있습니다. 어떤 것들은 아주 신학적인 이유들이고 또 어떤 것들은 매우 실제적인 이유들이지만, 그 중에 청소년인 예수님께서 성전에서 랍비들에게 강연하시던 장면이 하나의 단서를 제공해줍니다(46절). 처음으로 평범한 사람들이 눈에 보이는 형태의 하나님과 대화하고 토론할 수 있었던 것입니다. 예수님은 그분의 부모나 랍비, 가난한 과부와 같은 그 누구하고도 “두려워하지 말라”고 먼저 선포하지 않고도 대화를 할 수 있었습니다.

Luke 2:8–20

[8] Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.
[9] And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.
[10] Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.
[11] "For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
[12] "And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger."
[13] And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
[14] "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"
[15] So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, "Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us."
[16] And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.
[17] Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child.
[18] And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
[19] But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.
[20] Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.

예수님을 통해, 하나님은 우리에게 가까이 다가오십니다.
주님, 주님께서 제게 가까이 오신다니 몸 둘 바를 모르겠습니다. 그러나 감사히 여기고 있습니다. 고맙습니다.

[16] 빨리 가서 마리아와 요셉과 구유에 누인 아기를 찾아서
[17] 보고 천사가 자기들에게 이 아기에 대하여 말한 것을 전하니
[18] 듣는 자가 다 목자들이 그들에게 말한 것들을 놀랍게 여기되
[19] 마리아는 이 모든 말을 마음에 새기어 생각하니라
[20] 목자들은 자기들에게 이르던 바와 같이 듣고 본 그 모든 것으로 인하여 하나님께 영광을 돌리고 찬송하며 돌아가니라
