He Understands		주님은 이해하신다
[ Psalms 27:1 - 27:8 ] - hymn 379 The Lord is my light and my salvation. - Psalm 27:1 Some young children have trouble falling asleep at night. While there may be many reasons for this, my daughter explained one of them as I turned to leave her bedroom one evening. ¡°I¡¯m afraid of the dark,¡± she said. I tried to relieve her fear, but I left a nightlight on so she could be sure that her room was monster-free. I didn¡¯t think much more about my daughter¡¯s fear until a few weeks later when my husband went on an overnight business trip. After I settled into bed, the dark seemed to press in around me. I heard a tiny noise and jumped up to investigate. It turned out to be nothing, but I finally understood my daughter¡¯s fear when I experienced it myself. Jesus understands our fears and problems because He lived on the earth as a human and endured the same types of trouble we face. ¡°He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain¡±(Isa.53:3). When we describe our struggles to Him, He doesn¡¯t brush us aside, minimize our feelings, or tell us to snap out of it—He relates to our distress. Somehow, knowing that He understands can dispel the loneliness that often accompanies suffering. In our darkest times, He is our light and our salvation. — Jennifer Benson Schuldt		[ 시편 27:1 - 27:8 ] - 찬송가 379 장 여호와는 나의 빛이요 나의 구원이시니 - 시편 27:1 어떤 어린아이들은 밤에 잠드는 것을 힘들어합니다. 여기엔 많은 이유가 있겠지만, 내가 어느 날 저녁 딸아이의 침실을 떠나려고 돌아섰을 때, 딸이 그 중 한 가지를 얘기해주었습니다. 그때 아이는 “어둠이 무서워요.”라고 말했습니다. 나는 아이의 두려움을 덜어주려고 했지만, 결국은 아이의 방에 귀신이 없다는 것을 확신시키기 위해 작은 불을 켜놓은 채로 떠날 수밖에 없었습니다. 나는 몇 주 후 남편이 이틀에 걸친 출장을 가게 될 때까지만 해도 딸의 두려움에 대해 그다지 생각하지 않았습니다. 그날 침대에 눕자 어둠이 내 주위에서 나를 누르고 있는 것 같았습니다. 작은 소리가 나서 알아보려고 벌떡 일어나기도 했습니다. 결국 아무것도 아닌 것으로 밝혀졌지만 나는 내 스스로 경험한 후에야 딸의 두려움을 이해할 수 있었습니다. 예수님은 인간으로 이 세상에 사셨고 우리가 부딪치는 것과 같은 종류의 어려움들을 견디셨기에 우리의 두려움과 문제를 이해하십니다. “그는 멸시를 받아 사람들에게 버림받았으며 간고를 많이 겪었으며 질고를 아는 자라”(사 53:3). 우리가 우리의 힘든 일들을 주님께 말할 때, 주님은 우리를 무시하거나, 우리의 느낌을 과소평가하거나, 재빨리 벗어나라고 재촉하시지 않고, 우리의 고민을 이해해주십니다. 여하튼, 주님이 이해하신다는 것을 알면 종종 고통을 수반하는 외로움도 물리칠 수 있습니다. 우리의 가장 어두운 시간에 주님은 우리의 빛이요 구원이십니다.

Dear Jesus, I believe that You hear my prayers and that You understand my situation. You are the One who lights my darkness.

Jesus is our light in the darkest night.

Psalm 27:1–8

[1] A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?
[2] When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell.
[3] Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war should rise against me, In this I will be confident.
[4] One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.
[5] For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.
[6] And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.
[7] Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
[8] When You said, "Seek My face," My heart said to You, "Your face, LORD, I will seek."

사랑하는 예수님, 주님이 제 기도를 들으시고 제 상황을 이해하시는 것을 믿습니다. 주님은 제 어둠을 밝히시는 분이십니다.

예수님은 가장 어두운 밤에 우리의 빛이시다.

시편 27:1–8

[1] [다윗의 시] 여호와는 나의 빛이요 나의 구원이시니 내가 누구를 두려워하리요 여호와는 내 생명의 능력이시니 내가 누구를 무서워하리요
[2] 악인들이 내 살을 먹으려고 내게로 왔으나 나의 대적들, 나의 원수들인 그들은 실족하여 넘어졌도다
[3] 군대가 나를 대적하여 진 칠지라도 내 마음이 두렵지 아니하며 전쟁이 일어나 나를 치려 할지라도 나는 여전히 태연하리로다
[4] 내가 여호와께 바라는 한 가지 일 그것을 구하리니 곧 내가 내 평생에 여호와의 집에 살면서 여호와의 아름다움을 바라보며 그의 성전에서 사모하는 그것이라
[5] 여호와께서 환난 날에 나를 그의 초막 속에 비밀히 지키시고 그의 장막 은밀한 곳에 나를 숨기시며 높은 바위 위에 두시리로다
[6] 이제 내 머리가 나를 둘러싼 내 원수 위에 들리리니 내가 그의 장막에서 즐거운 제사를 드리겠고 노래하며 여호와를 찬송하리로다
[7] 여호와여 내가 소리 내어 부르짖을 때에 들으시고 또한 나를 긍휼히 여기사 응답하소서
[8] 너희는 내 얼굴을 찾으라 하실 때에 내가 마음으로 주께 말하되 여호와여 내가 주의 얼굴을 찾으리이다 하였나이다
