The Gift and the Giver		선물과 주는 사람
[ Luke 1:67 - 1:79 ] - hymn 304 Because of God¡¯s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us. - Luke 1:78 nlt It's only a keychain. Five little blocks held together by a shoelace. My daughter gave it to me years ago when she was seven. Today the lace is frayed and the blocks are chipped, but they spell a message that never grows old: ¡°I ¢¾ DAD.¡± The most precious gifts are determined not by what went into them, but by who they are from. Ask any parent who ever received a bouquet of dandelions from a chubby hand. The best gifts are valued not in money but in love. Zechariah understood that. We hear it in his prophetic song as he praised God for giving him and his wife Elizabeth their son John when they were well past their childbearing years (Luke 1:67–79). Zechariah rejoiced because John was to be a prophet who would proclaim God¡¯s greatest gift to all people—the coming Messiah: ¡°Because of God¡¯s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us¡±(Luke 1:78 nlt). Those words point to a gift given with so much love that it will even ¡°shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death¡±(1:79). The sweetest gift we can receive is God's tender mercy—the forgiveness of our sins through Jesus. That gift cost Him dearly at the cross, but He offers it freely out of His deep love for us. — James Banks		[ 누가복음 1:67 - 1:79 ] - 찬송가 304 장 이는 우리 하나님의 긍휼을 인함이라 이로써 돋는 해가 위로부터 우리에게 임하여 - 누가복음 1:78 그것은 그냥 열쇠고리였습니다. 다섯 개의 작은 조각들을 구두끈으로 묶은 것이었지요. 여러 해 전 내 딸이 일곱 살 때 내게 준 선물입니다. 지금은 구두끈은 낡았고 조각들은 이가 빠졌지만, 거기에 쓰여 있는 “아빠 사랑해요”라는 메시지는 아직도 변하지 않고 새롭습니다. 가장 귀중한 선물은 그 안에 뭐가 들어 있느냐가 아니라, 그것을 누가 줬는가로 결정됩니다. 고사리 같은 손으로 만든 민들레 꽃다발을 받아 본 부모라면 누구나 알 것입니다. 선물의 소중함은 금전적인 가치가 아니라 사랑의 크기에 달려있습니다. 사가랴는 그것을 이해했습니다. 오랫동안 아이가 없이 지내던 그와 그의 아내 엘리사벳에게 하나님이 요한이란 아들을 주셨을 때, 그가 하나님을 찬양한 예언적인 노래에서 그것을 알 수 있습니다(눅 1:67-79). 사가랴는 요한이 모든 사람들에게 하나님의 가장 위대한 선물이 될 오실 메시야에 대해 선포할 예언자가 될 것이라는 것을 알고 크게 기뻐했습니다. “이는 우리 하나님의 긍휼을 인함이라 이로써 돋는 해가 위로부터 우리에게 임하여”(눅 1:78). 그 말씀은 “어둠과 죽음의 그늘에 앉은 자에게 비치”(1:79)기까지 할 큰 사랑의 선물을 시사해줍니다. 우리가 받을 수 있는 가장 감미로운 선물은 예수님을 통해 우리의 죄를 용서해주시는 하나님의 친절한 자비입니다. 주님은 그 선물을 주시려고 십자가 위에서 큰 고통을 당하셨지만, 주님의 지극한 사랑으로 우리에게 아낌없이 베풀어주십니다.

Jesus, thank You for Your gift of forgiveness and life through You. I receive Your gift with joy.

Jesus is both the Gift and the Giver.

Luke 1:67–79

[67] Now his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying:
[68] "Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, For He has visited and redeemed His people,
[69] And has raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of His servant David,
[70] As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, Who have been since the world began,
[71] That we should be saved from our enemies And from the hand of all who hate us,
[72] To perform the mercy promised to our fathers And to remember His holy covenant,
[73] The oath which He swore to our father Abraham:
[74] To grant us that we, Being delivered from the hand of our enemies, Might serve Him without fear,
[75] In holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.
[76] "And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest; For you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways,
[77] To give knowledge of salvation to His people By the remission of their sins,
[78] Through the tender mercy of our God, With which the Dayspring from on high has visited us;
[79] To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace."

예수님, 주님 안에서 새로운 생명과 용서의 선물을 주셔서 감사합니다. 주님의 선물을 기쁘게 받겠습니다.

예수님은 선물이자 선물을 주시는 분이시다.

누가복음 1:67–79

[67] 그 부친 사가랴가 성령의 충만함을 받아 예언하여 이르되
[68] 찬송하리로다 주 이스라엘의 하나님이여 그 백성을 돌보사 속량하시며
[69] 우리를 위하여 구원의 뿔을 그 종 다윗의 집에 일으키셨으니
[70] 이것은 주께서 예로부터 거룩한 선지자의 입으로 말씀하신 바와 같이
[71] 우리 원수에게서와 우리를 미워하는 모든 자의 손에서 구원하시는 일이라
[72] 우리 조상을 긍휼히 여기시며 그 거룩한 언약을 기억하셨으니
[73] 곧 우리 조상 아브라함에게 하신 맹세라
[74] 우리가 원수의 손에서 건지심을 받고
[75] 종신토록 주의 앞에서 성결과 의로 두려움이 없이 섬기게 하리라 하셨도다
[76] 이 아이여 네가 지극히 높으신 이의 선지자라 일컬음을 받고 주 앞에 앞서 가서 그 길을 준비하여
[77] 주의 백성에게 그 죄 사함으로 말미암는 구원을 알게 하리니
[78] 이는 우리 하나님의 긍휼로 인함이라 이로써 돋는 해가 위로부터 우리에게 임하여
[79] 어둠과 죽음의 그늘에 앉은 자에게 비치고 우리 발을 평강의 길로 인도하시리로다 하니라
