The Easy Road?		쉬운 길?
[ Exodus 13:17 - 13:22 ] - hymn 430 When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. - Exodus 13:17 Life¡¯s path is often difficult. So if we expect that God will always give us an easy road, we may be tempted to turn our back on Him when the terrain gets tough. If you¡¯ve ever considered doing that, think about the people of Israel. When they were given freedom from the Egyptians after hundreds of years of bondage, they took off for the Promised Land. But God didn¡¯t send them straight home. He ¡°did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter¡±(Ex.13:17). Instead He sent them on the hard road through the desert. In the short run, this helped them avoid wars(v.17), but in the long run, there was something bigger at work. God used that time in the desert to instruct and mature the people He had called to follow Him. The easy road would have led them to disaster. The long road prepared the nation of Israel for their successful entry into the Promised Land. Our God is faithful, and we can trust Him to lead us and care for us no matter what we face. We may not understand the reason for the path we are on, but we can trust Him to help us grow in faith and maturity along the way. — Dave Branon		[ 출애굽기 13:17 - 13:22 ] - 찬송가 430 장 바로가 백성을 보낸 후에 블레셋 사람의 땅의 길은 가까울지라도 하나님이 그들을 그 길로 인도하지 아니하셨으니 - 출애굽기 13:17 삶의 여정은 때때로 어렵습니다. 그래서 만약 하나님이 우리에게 항상 쉬운 길을 열어주실 것을 기대한다면, 환경이 어려워질 때 그분에게 등을 돌리고 싶어질지도 모릅니다. 혹시라도 당신이 그러려고 했다면, 이스라엘 백성들을 생각해보십시오. 그들은 몇 백 년 동안의 애굽에서의 노예생활에서 벗어나 약속의 땅으로 떠났습니다. 그러나 하나님은 그들을 바로 고향으로 보내지 않으셨습니다. “블레셋 사람의 땅의 길은 가까울지라도 하나님이 그들을 그 길로 인도하지 아니하셨습니다”(출 13:17). 그 대신 사막을 통과하는 힘든 길로 그들을 보내셨습니다. 그것은 당장에는 전쟁을 피하게 해주는 것이었으나(17절), 장기적으로는 더 큰 주님의 계획 안에 있었습니다. 하나님은 그분을 따르라고 부르신 백성들을 가르치시고 성숙시키기 위해 사막에서의 그 시간을 사용하셨습니다. 쉬운 길은 백성들을 재앙으로 이끌었을지도 모릅니다. 그 긴 여정은 이스라엘 민족이 약속의 땅으로 성공적으로 들어갈 수 있도록 준비시켜주었습니다. 우리 하나님은 신실하시기 때문에, 우리가 어떤 상황에 부닥칠지라도 그분이 우리를 인도하시고 보살피신다는 것을 믿을 수 있습니다. 우리가 왜 이런 길을 가야 하는지 이해하지 못할 때도 있지만, 그 길을 가다 보면 하나님이 우리를 도와 우리의 믿음이 자라게 하시고 우리를 성숙시켜 주신다는 것을 믿을 수 있습니다.

Lord, we cannot see the path ahead, so we must trust that the way is right and that it is the best road for us to take. Please encourage us, and teach us as we let You direct our path.

God¡¯s timing is always right—wait patiently for Him.

Exodus 13:17–22

[17] Then it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, "Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt."
[18] So God led the people around by way of the wilderness of the Red Sea. And the children of Israel went up in orderly ranks out of the land of Egypt.
[19] And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for he had placed the children of Israel under solemn oath, saying, "God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here with you."
[20] So they took their journey from Succoth and camped in Etham at the edge of the wilderness.
[21] And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.
[22] He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people.

주님, 저희 앞길을 알 수 없기에 이 길이 바른 길이요 저희를 위한 최선의 길임을 믿어야 합니다. 저희를 격려하시고 깨닫게 하셔서 주님께서 저희의 길을 인도하시도록 맡길 수 있게 하소서.

하나님의 시간은 언제나 완벽하므로 인내하며 그분을 기다려라.

출애굽기 13:17–22

[17] 바로가 백성을 보낸 후에 블레셋 사람의 땅의 길은 가까울지라도 하나님이 그들을 그 길로 인도하지 아니하셨으니 이는 하나님이 말씀하시기를 이 백성이 전쟁을 하게 되면 마음을 돌이켜 애굽으로 돌아갈까 하셨음이라
[18] 그러므로 하나님이 홍해의 광야 길로 돌려 백성을 인도하시매 이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅에서 대열을 지어 나올 때에
[19] 모세가 요셉의 유골을 가졌으니 이는 요셉이 이스라엘 자손으로 단단히 맹세하게 하여 이르기를 하나님이 반드시 너희를 찾아오시리니 너희는 내 유골을 여기서 가지고 나가라 하였음이더라
[20] 그들이 숙곳을 떠나서 광야 끝 에담에 장막을 치니
[21] 여호와께서 그들 앞에서 가시며 낮에는 구름 기둥으로 그들의 길을 인도하시고 밤에는 불 기둥을 그들에게 비추사 낮이나 밤이나 진행하게 하시니
[22] 낮에는 구름 기둥, 밤에는 불 기둥이 백성 앞에서 떠나지 아니하니라
