Everything We Need and More		필요한 모든 것과 그 이상
[ 2 Peter 1:1 - 1:10 ] - hymn 196 [God¡¯s] divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life. - 2 Peter 1:3 In a field on the English countryside, G. K. Chesterton stood up from where he had been sitting and exploded with laughter. His outburst was so sudden and so loud that the cows could not take their eyes off him. Just minutes before, the Christian writer and apologist had been miserable. That afternoon he had been wandering the hills, sketching pictures on brown paper using colored chalks. But he was dismayed to discover he had no white chalk, which he considered to be essential to his artwork. Soon, though, he began to laugh when he realized that the ground beneath him was porous limestone—the earth¡¯s equivalent of white chalk. He broke off a piece and resumed drawing. Like Chesterton, who realized he ¡°was sitting on an immense warehouse of white chalk,¡± believers have God¡¯s unlimited spiritual resources within reach at all times. ¡°His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him¡±(2 Peter 1:3). Maybe you feel you are lacking some important element necessary for godliness such as faith, grace, or wisdom. If you know Christ, you have everything you need and more. Dear Lord, forgive me for overlooking Your power and trying to live in my own strength. I can¡¯t do it. Thank You for providing everything I need.

God has unlimited power.

2 Peter 1:1–10

[1] Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
[2] Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
[3] as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
[4] by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
[5] But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,
[6] to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,
[7] to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
[8] For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
[9] For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
[10] Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;

사랑하는 주님, 주님의 능력을 간과하고 나 자신의 힘으로 살려했던 것을 용서해주소서. 나는 할 수 있는 능력이 없습니다. 나에게 필요한 모든 것을 공급해주시니 감사합니다.

하나님은 무한한 능력을 갖고 계신다.

베드로후서 1:1–10

[1] 예수 그리스도의 종이며 사도인 시몬 베드로는 우리 하나님과 구주 예수 그리스도의 의를 힘입어 동일하게 보배로운 믿음을 우리와 함께 받은 자들에게 편지하노니
[2] 하나님과 우리 주 예수를 앎으로 은혜와 평강이 너희에게 더욱 많을지어다
[3] 그의 신기한 능력으로 생명과 경건에 속한 모든 것을 우리에게 주셨으니 이는 자기의 영광과 덕으로써 우리를 부르신 이를 앎으로 말미암음이라
[4] 이로써 그 보배롭고 지극히 큰 약속을 우리에게 주사 이 약속으로 말미암아 너희가 정욕 때문에 세상에서 썩어질 것을 피하여 신성한 성품에 참여하는 자가 되게 하려 하셨느니라
[5] 그러므로 너희가 더욱 힘써 너희 믿음에 덕을, 덕에 지식을,
[6] 지식에 절제를, 절제에 인내를, 인내에 경건을,
[7] 경건에 형제 우애를, 형제 우애에 사랑을 더하라
[8] 이런 것이 너희에게 있어 흡족한즉 너희로 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 알기에 게으르지 않고 열매 없는 자가 되지 않게 하려니와
[9] 이런 것이 없는 자는 맹인이라 멀리 보지 못하고 그의 옛 죄가 깨끗하게 된 것을 잊었느니라
[10] 그러므로 형제들아 더욱 힘써 너희 부르심과 택하심을 굳게 하라 너희가 이것을 행한즉 언제든지 실족하지 아니하리라
