[ Deuteronomy 6:1 - 6:12 ] - hymn 198 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. - Deuteronomy 6:6 Anthropologist Anthony Graesch says that the outside of a refrigerator reveals what¡¯s important to people. During a research study of families in Los Angeles, Graesch and his colleagues noted an average of 52 items posted on the fridge—including school schedules, family photos, children¡¯s drawings, and magnets. Graesch calls the refrigerator ¡°a repository of family memory.¡± The Lord may use a tangible item like a photo, keepsake, or Scripture verse to remind us of His faithfulness and the call to obey His Word. When Moses addressed the Israelites just before they entered the land of Canaan, he urged them to keep all the commands God had given them. ¡°Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road .... Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates¡± (Deut.6:7, 9). Giving God¡¯s Word a visible place of honor in their homes and lives was a powerful daily reminder to ¡°be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you ... out of the land of slavery¡±(v.12). Today the Lord encourages us to remember that as we obey His Word, we can depend on His faithful care for all that lies ahead. — David McCasland		[ 신명기 6:1 - 6:12 ] - 찬송가 198 장 오늘 내가 네게 명하는 이 말씀을 너는 마음에 새기고 - 신명기 6:6 인류학자 안소니 그래쉬는 냉장고 겉을 보면 그 사람이 어떤 것을 중요하게 여기는지 알 수 있다고 말합니다. 그래쉬와 그의 동료들은 로스앤젤레스에 사는 가족들을 연구하던 중, 학교 일정표와 가족사진, 아이들 그림, 자석 등, 평균 52가지가 냉장고에 붙어있다는 것을 알게 되었습니다. 그래쉬는 냉장고를 “가족들 추억의 장소”라고 부릅니다. 하나님은 우리에게 그분의 신실하심을, 그리고 우리가 말씀에 순종할 것을 상기시키기 위해 사진이나 유품, 혹은 성경구절 같은 실제적인 것들을 사용하기도 하십니다. 약속의 땅 가나안으로 들어가기 직전 이스라엘 백성에게 한 연설에서, 모세는 하나님이 그들에게 주신 모든 명령을 지킬 것을 강력히 권고했습니다. “네 자녀에게 부지런히 가르치며 집에 앉았을 때에든지 길을 갈 때에든지…이 말씀을 강론할 것이며 또 네 집 문설주와 바깥문에 기록할지니라”(신 6:7,9). 하나님의 말씀을 집이나 삶의 현장에 눈에 잘 띄는 곳에 놓아둠으로써, 그들은 “너는 조심하여 너를…종 되었던 집에서 인도하여 내신 여호와를 잊지 말라”(12절)는 것을 날마다 절실히 되새길 수 있었습니다. 오늘 주님은 우리가 주님의 말씀에 순종할 때 우리 앞길을 신실하게 지켜주시는 주님을 의지할 수 있다는 사실을 잊지 말라고 권면하십니다.

Father, we are grateful for every reminder of Your faithfulness and loving care. May we honor You by obeying Your Word.

Deuteronomy 6:1–12

[1] "Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the LORD your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess,
[2] "that you may fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.
[3] "Therefore hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe it, that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply greatly as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you--'a land flowing with milk and honey.'
[4] "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one!
[5] "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
[6] "And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.
[7] "You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
[8] "You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
[9] "You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
[10] "So it shall be, when the LORD your God brings you into the land of which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give you large and beautiful cities which you did not build,
[11] "houses full of all good things, which you did not fill, hewn-out wells which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant--when you have eaten and are full--
[12] "then beware, lest you forget the LORD who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

하나님 아버지, 하나님의 신실하심과 사랑으로 돌보심을 매일 깨닫게 해주시니 감사합니다. 주님의 말씀에 순종함으로써 주님을 영화롭게 하소서.

매일 받는 축복은 하나님의 신실하심을 날마다 되새겨준다.

신명기 6:1–12

[1] 이는 곧 너희의 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 가르치라고 명하신 명령과 규례와 법도라 너희가 건너가서 차지할 땅에서 행할 것이니
[2] 곧 너와 네 아들과 네 손자들이 평생에 네 하나님 여호와를 경외하며 내가 너희에게 명한 그 모든 규례와 명령을 지키게 하기 위한 것이며 또 네 날을 장구하게 하기 위한 것이라
[3] 이스라엘아 듣고 삼가 그것을 행하라 그리하면 네가 복을 받고 네 조상들의 하나님 여호와께서 네게 허락하심 같이 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅에서 네가 크게 번성하리라
[4] 이스라엘아 들으라 우리 하나님 여호와는 오직 유일한 여호와이시니
[5] 너는 마음을 다하고 뜻을 다하고 힘을 다하여 네 하나님 여호와를 사랑하라
[6] 오늘 내가 네게 명하는 이 말씀을 너는 마음에 새기고
[7] 네 자녀에게 부지런히 가르치며 집에 앉았을 때에든지 길을 갈 때에든지 누워 있을 때에든지 일어날 때에든지 이 말씀을 강론할 것이며
[8] 너는 또 그것을 네 손목에 매어 기호를 삼으며 네 미간에 붙여 표로 삼고
[9] 또 네 집 문설주와 바깥 문에 기록할지니라
[10] 네 하나님 여호와께서 네 조상 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱을 향하여 네게 주리라 맹세하신 땅으로 너를 들어가게 하시고 네가 건축하지 아니한 크고 아름다운 성읍을 얻게 하시며
[11] 네가 채우지 아니한 아름다운 물건이 가득한 집을 얻게 하시며 네가 파지 아니한 우물을 차지하게 하시며 네가 심지 아니한 포도원과 감람나무를 차지하게 하사 네게 배불리 먹게 하실 때에
[12] 너는 조심하여 너를 애굽 땅 종 되었던 집에서 인도하여 내신 여호와를 잊지 말고
