[ Nehemiah 8:1 - 8:8 ] - hymn 200 They read from the Book of the Law of God, making it clear and giving the meaning so that the people understood what was being read. - Nehemiah 8:8 When the sun came up on the first day of the seventh month in 444 bc, Ezra started reading the law of Moses (what we know as the first five books of the Bible). Standing on a platform in front of the people in Jerusalem, he read it straight through for the next six hours. Men, women, and children had gathered at the entrance to the city known as the Water Gate to observe the Festival of Trumpets—one of the feasts prescribed for them by God. As they listened, four reactions stand out. They stood up in reverence for the Book of the Law (Neh.8:5). They praised God by lifting their hands and saying ¡°Amen.¡± They bowed down in humble worship (v.6). Then they listened carefully as the Scriptures were both read and explained to them (v.8). What an amazing day as the book that ¡°the Lord had commanded for Israel¡±(v.1) was read aloud inside Jerusalem¡¯s newly rebuilt walls! Ezra¡¯s marathon reading session can remind us that God¡¯s words to us are still meant to be a source of praise, worship, and learning. When we open the Bible and learn more about Christ, let¡¯s praise God, worship Him, and seek to discover what He is saying to us now. — Dave Branon		[ 느헤미야 8:1 - 8:8 ] - 찬송가 200 장 하나님의 율법책을 낭독하고 그 뜻을 해석하여 백성에게 그 낭독하는 것을 다 깨닫게 하니 - 느헤미야 8:8 기원전 444년 7월 1일, 동이 틀 때 에스라는 모세의 율법(성경의 첫 다섯 권)을 낭독하기 시작했습니다. 그는 예루살렘 회중 앞 단상에 올라서서 여섯 시간 동안 계속 읽어 내려갔습니다. 하나님이 규정하신 절기 중 하나인 나팔절을 지키기 위해 남녀노소 모두가 수문이라고 불리는 예루살렘 도시 입구에 모였습니다. 그들은 율법을 들으며 네 가지 반응을 보였습니다. 그들은 율법책을 경외하는 마음으로 일어섰습니다(느 8:5). 그들은 손을 들고 “아멘” 하고 응답하며 하나님을 찬양했습니다. 그리고 자신들의 몸을 굽혀 겸손히 경배했습니다(6절). 그러고 나서 성경을 읽고 부연설명해주는 것을 열심히 경청했습니다(8절). “여호와께서 이스라엘에게 명령하신”(1절) 율법책이 새로 재건된 예루살렘의 성벽 안에서 크게 낭독되다니 이 얼마나 감격스러운 날입니까! 장시간에 걸친 에스라의 율법 낭독은 바로 하나님의 말씀이 지금도 우리에게 찬양과 경배, 그리고 배움의 근본이 되어야 함을 되새겨줍니다. 성경을 펴서 그리스도에 대해 더 많이 배워감으로 하나님을 찬양하고 경배합시다. 그리고 하나님이 지금 우리에게 무엇을 말씀하시는지 알아가도록 합시다.

Nehemiah 8:1–8

[1] Now all the people gathered together as one man in the open square that was in front of the Water Gate; and they told Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded Israel.
[2] So Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly of men and women and all who could hear with understanding on the first day of the seventh month.
[3] Then he read from it in the open square that was in front of the Water Gate from morning until midday, before the men and women and those who could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive to the Book of the Law.
[4] So Ezra the scribe stood on a platform of wood which they had made for the purpose; and beside him, at his right hand, stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Urijah, Hilkiah, and Maaseiah; and at his left hand Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum, Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam.
[5] And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people, for he was standing above all the people; and when he opened it, all the people stood up.
[6] And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. Then all the people answered, "Amen, Amen!" while lifting up their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground.
[7] Also Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, helped the people to understand the Law; and the people stood in their place.
[8] So they read distinctly from the book, in the Law of God; and they gave the sense, and helped them to understand the reading.

주님, 성경이라는 놀라운 책을 주셔서 감사합니다. 말씀 기록을 위해 택하신 저자들에게 성경을 쓸 수 있도록 영감을 주셔서 감사합니다. 이 책을 대대로 지켜 보호하셔서 우리가 주의 백성들의 이야기와 주의 사랑의 복음을 배우게 하시니 감사합니다.

성경공부의 목적은 배움뿐만 아니라 배운 대로 살아가는 것이다.

느헤미야 8:1–8

[1] 이스라엘 자손이 자기들의 성읍에 거주하였더니 일곱째 달에 이르러 모든 백성이 일제히 수문 앞 광장에 모여 학사 에스라에게 여호와께서 이스라엘에게 명령하신 모세의 율법책을 가져오기를 청하매
[2] 일곱째 달 초하루에 제사장 에스라가 율법책을 가지고 회중 앞 곧 남자나 여자나 알아들을 만한 모든 사람 앞에 이르러
[3] 수문 앞 광장에서 새벽부터 정오까지 남자나 여자나 알아들을 만한 모든 사람 앞에서 읽으매 뭇 백성이 그 율법책에 귀를 기울였는데
[4] 그 때에 학사 에스라가 특별히 지은 나무 강단에 서고 그의 곁 오른쪽에 선 자는 맛디댜와 스마와 아나야와 우리야와 힐기야와 마아세야요 그의 왼쪽에 선 자는 브다야와 미사엘과 말기야와 하숨과 하스밧다나와 스가랴와 므술람이라
[5] 에스라가 모든 백성 위에 서서 그들 목전에 책을 펴니 책을 펼 때에 모든 백성이 일어서니라
[6] 에스라가 위대하신 하나님 여호와를 송축하매 모든 백성이 손을 들고 아멘 아멘 하고 응답하고 몸을 굽혀 얼굴을 땅에 대고 여호와께 경배하니라
[7] 예수아와 바니와 세레뱌와 야민과 악굽과 사브대와 호디야와 마아세야와 그리다와 아사랴와 요사밧과 하난과 블라야와 레위 사람들은 백성이 제자리에 서 있는 동안 그들에게 율법을 깨닫게 하였는데
[8] 하나님의 율법책을 낭독하고 그 뜻을 해석하여 백성에게 그 낭독하는 것을 다 깨닫게 하니
