What Really Matters		정말로 중요한 것
[ Philippians 2:1 - 2:11 ] - hymn 221 In humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others. - Philippians 2:3–4 Two men sat down to review their business trip and its results. One said he thought the trip had been worthwhile because some meaningful new relationships had begun through their business contacts. The other said, ¡°Relationships are fine, but selling is what matters most.¡± Obviously they had very different agendas. It is all too easy—whether in business, family, or church—to view others from the perspective of how they can benefit us. We value them for what we can get from them, rather than focusing on how we can serve them in Jesus¡¯s name. In his letter to the Philippians, Paul wrote, ¡°Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others¡±(Phil.2:3–4). People are not to be used for our own benefit. Because they are loved by God and we are loved by Him, we love one another. His love is the greatest love of all. — Bill Crowder		[ 빌립보서 2:1 - 2:11 ] - 찬송가 221 장 오직 겸손한 마음으로 각각 자기보다 남을 낫게 여기고 각각 자기 일을 돌볼뿐더러 또한 각각 다른 사람들의 일을 돌보아 - 빌립보서 2:3-4 두 남자가 앉아서 그들이 사업차 다녀온 출장과 그 결과를 검토하고 있었습니다. 한 사람은 그들의 거래처를 통해 의미 있는 관계들을 새로 트게 되어 출장이 가치가 있었다고 생각한다고 말했습니다. 그러자 다른 한 사람은 “관계도 좋지만, 판매가 가장 중요한 일이지요.”라고 말했습니다. 명백히 두 사람은 서로 아주 다른 관점을 가지고 있었습니다. 우리는 사업이나 가정, 또는 교회에서, 우리에게 얼마나 도움이 될 것인가 하는 관점에서 다른 사람들을 보기가 아주 쉽습니다. 예수님의 이름으로 그들을 어떻게 섬길 수 있을까 하는데 초점을 맞추기보다는, 우리가 그들로부터 무엇을 얻을 수 있을까에 따라 그들을 평가합니다. 빌립보 교인들에게 쓴 편지에서 바울은 이렇게 썼습니다. “아무 일에든지 다툼이나 허영으로 하지 말고 오직 겸손한 마음으로 각각 자기보다 남을 낫게 여기고 각각 자기 일을 돌볼뿐더러 또한 각각 다른 사람들의 일을 돌보아 나의 기쁨을 충만하게 하라”(빌 2:3-4). 우리 자신의 유익을 위해 사람들을 이용해서는 안 됩니다. 하나님이 그들을 사랑하시고, 우리도 하나님의 사랑을 받는 사람들이기에, 우리는 서로 사랑해야 합니다. 하나님의 사랑은 가장 위대한 사랑입니다.

Teach me, Lord, to see people as You do—bearing Your image, being worthy of Your love, and needing Your care. May Your great love find in my heart a vessel through which that love can be displayed.

Joy comes from putting another¡¯s needs ahead of our own.

Philippians 2:1–11

[1] Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy,
[2] fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
[3] Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
[4] Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
[5] Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,
[6] who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,
[7] but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
[8] And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
[9] Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
[10] that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
[11] and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

주님, 사람들을 볼 때 주님이 그들을 보시는 것처럼, 그들이 주님의 형상을 지니고 있고, 주님의 사랑을 받을 가치가 있으며, 주님의 돌보심을 필요로 한다는 것을 깨닫게 하소서. 주님의 위대한 사랑이 내 마음의 통로를 통하여 나타나게 하소서.

나의 필요보다 다른 사람의 필요를 우선할 때 기쁨이 찾아온다.

빌립보서 2:1–11

[1] 그러므로 그리스도 안에 무슨 권면이나 사랑의 무슨 위로나 성령의 무슨 교제나 긍휼이나 자비가 있거든
[2] 마음을 같이하여 같은 사랑을 가지고 뜻을 합하며 한마음을 품어
[3] 아무 일에든지 다툼이나 허영으로 하지 말고 오직 겸손한 마음으로 각각 자기보다 남을 낫게 여기고
[4] 각각 자기 일을 돌볼뿐더러 또한 각각 다른 사람들의 일을 돌보아 나의 기쁨을 충만하게 하라
[5] 너희 안에 이 마음을 품으라 곧 그리스도 예수의 마음이니
[6] 그는 근본 하나님의 본체시나 하나님과 동등됨을 취할 것으로 여기지 아니하시고
[7] 오히려 자기를 비워 종의 형체를 가지사 사람들과 같이 되셨고
[8] 사람의 모양으로 나타나사 자기를 낮추시고 죽기까지 복종하셨으니 곧 십자가에 죽으심이라
[9] 이러므로 하나님이 그를 지극히 높여 모든 이름 위에 뛰어난 이름을 주사
[10] 하늘에 있는 자들과 땅에 있는 자들과 땅 아래에 있는 자들로 모든 무릎을 예수의 이름에 꿇게 하시고
[11] 모든 입으로 예수 그리스도를 주라 시인하여 하나님 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하셨느니라
