Like Sheep		양처럼
[ Isaiah 53:1 - 53:6 ] - hymn 569 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way. - Isaiah 53:6 One of my daily chores when I lived with my grandfather in northern Ghana was taking care of sheep. Each morning I took them out to pasture and returned by evening. That was when I first noticed how stubborn sheep can be. Whenever they saw a farm, for instance, their instinct drove them right into it, getting me in trouble with the farmers on a number of occasions. Sometimes when I was tired from the heat and resting under a tree, I observed the sheep dispersing into the bushes and heading for the hills, causing me to chase after them and scratching my skinny legs in the shrubs. I had a hard time directing the animals away from danger and trouble, especially when robbers sometimes raided the field and stole stray sheep. So I quite understand when Isaiah says, "We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way"(53:6). We stray in many ways: desiring and doing what displeases our Lord, hurting other people by our conduct, and being distracted from spending time with God and His Word because we are too busy or lack interest. We behave like sheep in the field. Fortunately for us, we have the Good Shepherd who laid down His life for us (John 10:11) and who carries our sorrows and our sins (Isa.53:4-6). And as our shepherd, He calls us back to safe pasture that we might follow Him more closely.		[ 이사야 53:1 - 53:6 ] - 찬송가 569 장 우리는 다 양 같아서 그릇 행하여 각기 제 길로 갔거늘 - 이사야 53:6 내가 가나 북부에서 할아버지와 함께 살 때, 매일 해야 하는 귀찮은 일 중에 하나는 양들을 돌보는 것이었습니다. 나는 매일 아침 양들을 목초지로 데리고 가서 저녁에 다시 돌아왔습니다. 나는 양이 얼마나 고집 센 동물인지 그때 처음으로 알게 되었습니다. 예를 들면, 양들은 농장을 볼 때마다 본능적으로 그곳으로 뛰어들어 많은 경우에 나와 농부들 사이에 문제를 일으켰습니다. 가끔 더위에 지쳐 나무아래에서 쉬고 있을 때, 양들이 숲속으로 흩어져서 언덕으로 올라가는 것을 보고 내가 양들을 좇아 달려가다 작은 나무들 때문에 내 깡마른 다리에 상처가 나기도 했습니다. 특히 강도들이 습격하여 흩어진 양들을 훔치려고 할 때처럼, 양들을 위험이나 곤란한 상태로부터 벗어나게 하는데도 어려움을 겪었습니다. 그래서 나는 이사야가 “우리는 다 양 같아서 그릇 행하여 각기 제 길로 갔다”(사 53:6)라고 말한 것을 아주 잘 이해합니다. 우리는 여러 모습으로 길을 벗어납니다. 우리 주님이 기뻐하시지 않는 것들을 원하거나 행하기도 하고, 우리의 행동으로 다른 사람들에게 상처를 준다든지, 너무 바쁘거나 관심이 없어서 하나님이나 하나님의 말씀과 함께 시간을 보내지 못합니다. 우리는 들판에 있는 양처럼 행동합니다. 다행스럽게도 우리에게는, 우리를 위해 목숨을 버리시고(요 10:11), 우리의 슬픔과 우리의 죄를 짊어지시는(사 53:4-6) 선한 목자이신 주님이 계십니다. 우리의 목자이신 주님은 우리가 주님을 더 가까이 따를 수 있는 안전한 초장으로 우리를 다시 부르십니다.

Shepherd of my soul, I do wander at times. I¡¯m grateful that You¡¯re always seeking me to bring me back to Your side.

Isaiah 53:1-6

[1] Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
[2] For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
[3] He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
[4] Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.
[5] But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
[6] All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

내 영혼의 목자이신 주님, 나는 때때로 방황하나, 주님이 항상 나를 찾아 주님 곁에 돌아오게 해주시니 감사합니다.

하나님께서 당신을 인도해주시기를 바란다면,
하나님의 인도를 기꺼이 따를 수 있어야 한다.

이사야 53:1-6

[1] 우리가 전한 것을 누가 믿었느냐 여호와의 팔이 누구에게 나타났느냐
[2] 그는 주 앞에서 자라나기를 연한 순 같고 마른 땅에서 나온 뿌리 같아서 고운 모양도 없고 풍채도 없은즉 우리가 보기에 흠모할 만한 아름다운 것이 없도다
[3] 그는 멸시를 받아 사람들에게 버림 받았으며 간고를 많이 겪었으며 질고를 아는 자라 마치 사람들이 그에게서 얼굴을 가리는 것 같이 멸시를 당하였고 우리도 그를 귀히 여기지 아니하였도다
[4] 그는 실로 우리의 질고를 지고 우리의 슬픔을 당하였거늘 우리는 생각하기를 그는 징벌을 받아 하나님께 맞으며 고난을 당한다 하였노라
[5] 그가 찔림은 우리의 허물 때문이요 그가 상함은 우리의 죄악 때문이라 그가 징계를 받으므로 우리는 평화를 누리고 그가 채찍에 맞으므로 우리는 나음을 받았도다
[6] 우리는 다 양 같아서 그릇 행하여 각기 제 길로 갔거늘 여호와께서는 우리 모두의 죄악을 그에게 담당시키셨도다
