Our Divine Defense		우리의 신성한 방어
[ Nehemiah 4:7 - 4:18 ] - hymn 205 Take ... the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. - Ephesians 6:17 Under Nehemiah¡¯s supervision, the Israelite workers were rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem. When they were nearly half finished, however, they learned that their enemies were plotting to attack Jerusalem. This news demoralized the already exhausted workers. Nehemiah had to do something. First, he prayed and posted numerous guards in strategic places. Then, he armed his workers. ¡°Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other, and each of the builders wore his sword at his side as he worked¡±(Neh.4:17-18). We who are building God¡¯s kingdom need to arm ourselves against the attack of our spiritual enemy, Satan. Our protection is the sword of the Spirit, which is God¡¯s Word. Memorizing Scripture and meditating on it enable us to ¡°take [our] stand against the devil¡¯s schemes¡± (Eph.6:11). If we think that working for God doesn¡¯t matter, we should turn to the promise that what we do for Jesus will last for eternity (1 Cor.3:11-15). If we fear we¡¯ve sinned too greatly for God to use us, we must remember we¡¯ve been forgiven by the power of Jesus¡¯ blood (Matt.26:28). And if we¡¯re worried we might fail if we try to serve God, we can recall that Jesus said we will bear fruit as we abide in Him (John 15:5). God¡¯s Word is our divine defense!		[ 느헤미야 4:7 - 4:18 ] - 찬송가 205 장 성령의 검 곧 하나님의 말씀을 가지라 - 에베소서 6:17 이스라엘 노동자들은 느헤미야의 감독 하에 예루살렘 주위의 성벽을 재건하고 있었습니다. 그러나 그들이 절반가량 완성했을 때, 적들이 예루살렘을 공격할 음모를 꾀하고 있다는 것을 알게 되었습니다. 이 소식은 이미 지친 노동자들의 사기를 꺾어버렸습니다. 느헤미야는 뭔가를 해야만 했습니다. 그는 먼저 기도한 후 전략적인 장소에 많은 경비병들을 세우고, 그런 다음 노동자들을 무장시켰습니다. “성을 건축하는 자와 짐을 나르는 자는 다 각각 한 손으로 일을 하며 한 손에는 병기를 잡았는데 건축하는 자는 각각 허리에 칼을 차고 건축하며 나팔 부는 자는 내 곁에 섰었느니라”(느 4:17-18). 하나님의 왕국을 구축하는 우리도 영적 원수인 사탄의 공격을 막기 위해 우리 자신을 무장해야합니다. 우리의 무기는 하나님의 말씀인 성령의 검입니다. 성경 말씀을 암기하고 묵상한다면 우리는 “마귀의 간계를 능히 대적하기”(엡 6:11) 위한 능력을 갖게 됩니다. 만일 우리가 하나님의 일을 하는 것이 아무것도 아니라는 생각이 든다면, 예수님을 위해 한 일들은 영원히 지속될 것이라는 약속을 생각하십시오(고전 3:11-15). 만일 하나님이 우리를 사용하시기에 우리가 너무 큰 죄를 저질렀다는 두려움이 있다면, 우리는 예수님의 보혈의 능력으로 용서받았다는 것을 기억해야 합니다(마 26:28). 그리고 만일 하나님을 섬기려다 실패할지도 모른다고 염려가 된다면, 우리가 예수님 안에 있으면 열매를 맺을 것이라고 주님이 말씀하신 것을 기억하십시오(요 15:5). 하나님의 말씀은 우리의 신성한 방어입니다!

God, thank You for the Bible. I believe that Your Word is alive and active. Please help me to remember it when I am worried or fearful, when I need encouragement and inspiration.

God¡¯s Word is a divine defense against attacks from the Enemy.

Nehemiah 4:7-18

[7] Now it happened, when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites heard that the walls of Jerusalem were being restored and the gaps were beginning to be closed, that they became very angry,
[8] and all of them conspired together to come and attack Jerusalem and create confusion.
[9] Nevertheless we made our prayer to our God, and because of them we set a watch against them day and night.
[10] Then Judah said, "The strength of the laborers is failing, and there is so much rubbish that we are not able to build the wall."
[11] And our adversaries said, "They will neither know nor see anything, till we come into their midst and kill them and cause the work to cease."
[12] So it was, when the Jews who dwelt near them came, that they told us ten times, "From whatever place you turn, they will be upon us."
[13] Therefore I positioned men behind the lower parts of the wall, at the openings; and I set the people according to their families, with their swords, their spears, and their bows.
[14] And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, "Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses."
[15] And it happened, when our enemies heard that it was known to us, and that God had brought their plot to nothing, that all of us returned to the wall, everyone to his work.
[16] So it was, from that time on, that half of my servants worked at construction, while the other half held the spears, the shields, the bows, and wore armor; and the leaders were behind all the house of Judah.
[17] Those who built on the wall, and those who carried burdens, loaded themselves so that with one hand they worked at construction, and with the other held a weapon.
[18] Every one of the builders had his sword girded at his side as he built. And the one who sounded the trumpet was beside me.

하나님, 성경을 주셔서 감사합니다. 하나님 말씀은 살아있고 운동력이 있음을 믿습니다. 두려움이나 걱정이 있을 때, 그리고 격려나 감화가 필요할 때 그 사실을 기억할 수 있도록 도와주소서.

하나님의 말씀은 원수의 공격을 막는 신성한 방어가 된다.

느헤미야 4:7-18

[7] 산발랏과 도비야와 아라비아 사람들과 암몬 사람들과 아스돗 사람들이 예루살렘 성이 중수되어 그 허물어진 틈이 메꾸어져 간다 함을 듣고 심히 분노하여
[8] 다 함께 꾀하기를 예루살렘으로 가서 치고 그 곳을 요란하게 하자 하기로
[9] 우리가 우리 하나님께 기도하며 그들로 말미암아 파수꾼을 두어 주야로 방비하는데
[10] 유다 사람들은 이르기를 흙 무더기가 아직도 많거늘 짐을 나르는 자의 힘이 다 빠졌으니 우리가 성을 건축하지 못하리라 하고
[11] 우리의 원수들은 이르기를 그들이 알지 못하고 보지 못하는 사이에 우리가 그들 가운데 달려 들어가서 살륙하여 역사를 그치게 하리라 하고
[12] 그 원수들의 근처에 거주하는 유다 사람들도 그 각처에서 와서 열 번이나 우리에게 말하기를 너희가 우리에게로 와야 하리라 하기로
[13] 내가 성벽 뒤의 낮고 넓은 곳에 백성이 그들의 종족을 따라 칼과 창과 활을 가지고 서 있게 하고
[14] 내가 돌아본 후에 일어나서 귀족들과 민장들과 남은 백성에게 말하기를 너희는 그들을 두려워하지 말고 지극히 크시고 두려우신 주를 기억하고 너희 형제와 자녀와 아내와 집을 위하여 싸우라 하였느니라
[15] 우리의 대적이 우리가 그들의 의도를 눈치챘다 함을 들으니라 하나님이 그들의 꾀를 폐하셨으므로 우리가 다 성에 돌아와서 각각 일하였는데
[16] 그 때로부터 내 수하 사람들의 절반은 일하고 절반은 갑옷을 입고 창과 방패와 활을 가졌고 민장은 유다 온 족속의 뒤에 있었으며
[17] 성을 건축하는 자와 짐을 나르는 자는 다 각각 한 손으로 일을 하며 한 손에는 병기를 잡았는데
[18] 건축하는 자는 각각 허리에 칼을 차고 건축하며 나팔 부는 자는 내 곁에 섰었느니라
