Help from the Outside		외부의 도움
[ Jeremiah 17:7 - 17:13 ] - hymn 28 God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. - 1 John 3:20 On a business trip, my husband had just settled into his hotel room when he heard an unusual noise. He stepped into the hall to investigate and heard someone yelling from a nearby room. With the help of a hotel worker, he discovered that a man had become trapped in the bathroom. The lock on the bathroom door had malfunctioned and the man trapped inside started to panic. He felt like he couldn¡¯t breathe and began yelling for help. Sometimes in life we feel trapped. We are banging on the door, pulling on the handle, but we can¡¯t get free. We need help from the outside, just like the man in the hotel. To get that outside assistance, we have to admit that we are helpless on our own. Sometimes we look inward for the answers to our problems, yet the Bible says ¡°the heart is deceitful¡±(Jer.17:9). In truth, we are often the source of our problems in life. Thankfully, ¡°God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything¡±(1 John 3:20). Because of this, He knows exactly how to help us. Lasting heart-level change and real progress with our problems originate with God. Trusting Him and living to please Him means we can flourish and be truly free. - Jennifer Benson Schuldt		[ 예레미야 17:7 - 17:13 ] - 찬송가 28 장 하나님은 우리 마음보다 크시고 모든 것을 아시기 때문이라 - 요한일서 3:20 출장 중이었던 남편이 호텔 방에 막 들어갔을 때 이상한 소리를 들었습니다. 무슨 일인가 알아보려고 복도로 나갔다가 가까이에 있는 한 방에서 어떤 사람이 소리 지르는 것을 들었습니다. 호텔 종업원의 도움을 받아 확인해보니 어떤 남자가 욕실에 갇혀 있었습니다. 욕실 문이 고장 나 안에 갇히게 되자 공황상태에 빠지게 되었고, 숨을 쉴 수 없을 것 같아서 도움을 청하느라 소리를 지르기 시작했던 것입니다. 가끔 우리는 인생에서 함정에 빠진 것 같이 느낍니다. 문을 두드리고 손잡이를 잡아당기지만 빠져나올 수 없습니다. 바로 그 호텔의 남자처럼 외부에서 도움을 받아야 할 필요가 있습니다. 외부로부터 도움을 받기 위해서는 먼저 우리 스스로는 어찌할 수 없다는 것을 인정해야 합니다. 우리는 가끔 우리 문제의 해답을 우리 안에서 찾으려고 하지만, 성경은 “심히 부패한 것은 마음이라”(렘 17:9)라고 말합니다. 사실 인생에서 우리 문제의 근원은 종종 우리자신이기도 합니다. 감사하게도 하나님은 “우리 마음보다 크시고 모든 것을 아시는 하나님”(요일 3:20)이십니다. 이 때문에 하나님은 우리를 어떻게 도와야 하는지를 정확하게 아십니다. 우리의 문제와 관련해서 우리의 마음이 영원히 변화되고 진정한 발전이 있기 위해서는 하나님이 함께 해주셔야 합니다. 주님을 신뢰하고 주님을 기쁘시게 하는 삶이야말로 활개 치며 진정으로 자유로울 수 있는 삶이라는 뜻입니다.

Heavenly Father, I humble myself before You. I can¡¯t solve my problems on my own. Please help me to seek Your help and perspective.

God helps those who know they are helpless.

Jeremiah 17:7-13

[7] "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD.
[8] For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
[9] "The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?
[10] I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.
[11] "As a partridge that broods but does not hatch, So is he who gets riches, but not by right; It will leave him in the midst of his days, And at his end he will be a fool."
[12] A glorious high throne from the beginning Is the place of our sanctuary.
[13] O LORD, the hope of Israel, All who forsake You shall be ashamed. "Those who depart from Me Shall be written in the earth, Because they have forsaken the LORD, The fountain of living waters."

하늘에 계신 아버지, 하나님 앞에 겸손히 엎드립니다. 제 문제를 제 자신이 해결할 수 없으니 하나님의 도움과 관점을 추구할 수 있도록 도와주소서.

하나님은 스스로는 어찌할 수 없다는 것을 아는 자들을 도우신다.

예레미야 17:7-13

[7] 그러나 무릇 여호와를 의지하며 여호와를 의뢰하는 그 사람은 복을 받을 것이라
[8] 그는 물 가에 심어진 나무가 그 뿌리를 강변에 뻗치고 더위가 올지라도 두려워하지 아니하며 그 잎이 청청하며 가무는 해에도 걱정이 없고 결실이 그치지 아니함 같으리라
[9] 만물보다 거짓되고 심히 부패한 것은 마음이라 누가 능히 이를 알리요마는
[10] 나 여호와는 심장을 살피며 폐부를 시험하고 각각 그의 행위와 그의 행실대로 보응하나니
[11] 불의로 치부하는 자는 자고새가 낳지 아니한 알을 품음 같아서 그의 중년에 그것이 떠나겠고 마침내 어리석은 자가 되리라
[12] 영화로우신 보좌여 시작부터 높이 계시며 우리의 성소이시며
[13] 이스라엘의 소망이신 여호와여 무릇 주를 버리는 자는 다 수치를 당할 것이라 무릇 여호와를 떠나는 자는 흙에 기록이 되오리니 이는 생수의 근원이신 여호와를 버림이니이다
