[ Acts 4:5 - 4:20 ] - hymn 80 I am in the Father, and ... the Father is in me. - John 14:10 A church group invited a speaker to address their meeting. ¡°Talk about God,¡± the group leader told him, ¡°but leave out Jesus.¡±¡°Why?¡± the man asked, taken aback. ¡°Well,¡± the leader explained, ¡°some of our prominent members feel uncomfortable with Jesus. Just use God and we¡¯ll be fine.¡± Accepting such instructions, however, was a problem for the speaker who said later, ¡°Without Jesus, I have no message.¡± Something similar was asked of followers of Jesus in the days of the early church. Local religious leaders conferred together to warn the disciples not to speak about Jesus (Acts 4:17). But the disciples knew better. ¡°We cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard,¡± they said (v.20). To claim to believe in God and not in His Son Jesus Christ is a contradiction in terms. In John 10:30, Jesus clearly describes the unique relationship between Himself and God: ¡°I and the Father are one¡±—thus establishing His deity. That is why He could say, ¡°You believe in God; believe also in me¡± (John 14:1). Paul knew that Jesus is the very nature of God and equal with God (Phil.2:6). We need not shy away from the name Jesus, for ¡°salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved¡±(Acts 4:12). - Lawrence Darmani		[ 사도행전 4:5 - 4:20 ] - 찬송가 80 장 나는 아버지 안에 있고 아버지는 내 안에 계신 것을… - 요한복음 14:10 어느 교회의 한 그룹이 그들의 모임에 한 연사를 초청하였습니다. 그 그룹 대표가 연사에게 “하나님에 관해 말씀해주시되 예수님에 관해선 언급하지 말아 주십시오.”라고 부탁했습니다. 연사가 의아해하면서 “왜요?” 하고 반문했습니다. 그 대표가 설명했습니다. “우리 모임에 참석한 귀빈들 중 몇 분이 예수님에 대해서 좀 불편해하는 분들이 있어서 그렇습니다. 그저 하나님이란 단어만 쓰시면 됩니다.” 그와 같은 요구사항을 받아들인다는 것은 나중에 “예수님을 빼면 할 이야기가 없다.”고 토로한 그 연사에게는 문제가 아닐 수 없었습니다. 초대교회 당시에도 이와 유사한 일이 예수님 따르는 사람들에게 요구되었었습니다. 당시 그 지역의 종교지도자들이 모여서 협의한 끝에, 제자들에게 예수님의 이름을 아무에게도 언급하지 말라고 경고했습니다(행 4:17). 그러나 제자들은 누구보다 분명히 알았기에, “우리는 보고 들은 것을 말하지 않을 수 없다”고 말했습니다(20절). 하나님을 믿는다고 하면서 그의 아들 예수 그리스도를 믿지 않는다는 것은 모순입니다. 요한복음 10장 30절에서 예수님은 주님과 하나님과의 유일한 관계에 대해 “나와 아버지는 하나이니라”라고 분명히 말씀하심으로써 예수님의 신성을 확고히 하셨습니다. 그래서 예수님은 “하나님을 믿으니 또 나를 믿으라”(요 14:1)라고 말씀하실 수가 있었던 것입니다. 바울사도도 예수님은 근본 하나님의 본체이시고 하나님과 동등 되신 분임을 알고 있었습니다(빌 2:6). “다른 이로써는 구원을 받을 수 없나니 천하 사람 중에 구원을 받을 만한 다른 이름을 우리에게 주신 일이 없음이라”(행 4:12). 그러므로 우리는 예수님의 이름을 피해서는 안 됩니다.

Jesus, You are God. Thank You for showing Yourself to us in the Bible and in our lives. You have done so much for us. Help us to share with others what we know of You and have experienced of You.

The name of Jesus is at the heart of our faith and our hope.

Acts 4:5-20

[5] The next day the rulers, the elders and the teachers of the law met in Jerusalem.
[6] Annas the high priest was there, and so were Caiaphas, John, Alexander and others of the high priest¡¯s family.
[7] They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: ¡°By what power or what name did you do this?¡±
[8] Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: ¡°Rulers and elders of the people!
[9] If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame and are being asked how he was healed,
[10] then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.
[11] Jesus is¡°¡®the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.¡¯[a]
[12] Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.¡±
[13] When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.
[14] But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say.
[15] So they ordered them to withdraw from the Sanhedrin and then conferred together.
[16] ¡°What are we going to do with these men?¡± they asked. ¡°Everyone living in Jerusalem knows they have performed a notable sign, and we cannot deny it.
[17] But to stop this thing from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them to speak no longer to anyone in this name.¡±
[18] Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.
[19] But Peter and John replied, ¡°Which is right in God¡¯s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges!
[20] As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.¡±

예수님, 주님은 하나님이십니다. 성경과 우리 삶 속에서 주님을 보여주심을 감사합니다. 주님은 우리를 위해 엄청난 일을 해주셨습니다. 우리가 주님에 대해 알고 경험한 것들을 다른 이들과 나눌 수 있도록 도와주소서.

예수님의 이름은 우리 믿음과 소망의 핵심이다.

사도행전 4:5-20

[5] 이튿날에 관원과 장로와 서기관들이 예루살렘에 모였는데
[6] 대제사장 안나스와 가야바와 요한과 알렉산더와 및 대제사장의 문중이 다 참여하여
[7] 사도들을 가운데 세우고 묻되 너희가 무슨 권세와 뉘 이름으로 이 일을 행하였느냐
[8] 이에 베드로가 성령이 충만하여 가로되 백성의 관원과 장로들아
[9] 만일 병인에게 행한 착한 일에 대하여 이 사람이 어떻게 구원을 얻었느냐고 오늘 우리에게 질문하면
[10] 너희와 모든 이스라엘 백성들은 알라 너희가 십자가에 못 박고 하나님이 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 나사렛 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 이 사람이 건강하게 되어 너희 앞에 섰느니라
[11] 이 예수는 너희 건축자들의 버린 돌로서 집 모퉁이의 머릿돌이 되었느니라
[12] 다른 이로서는 구원을 얻을 수 없나니 천하 인간에 구원을 얻을 만한 다른 이름을 우리에게 주신 일이 없음이니라 하였더라
[13] 저희가 베드로와 요한이 기탄없이 말함을 보고 그 본래 학문 없는 범인으로 알았다가 이상히 여기며 또 그 전에 예수와 함께 있던 줄도 알고
[14] 또 병 나은 사람이 그들과 함께 섰는 것을 보고 힐난할 말이 없는지라
[15] 명하여 공회에서 나가라 하고 서로 의논하여 가로되
[16] 이 사람들을 어떻게 할꼬 저희로 인하여 유명한 표적 나타난 것이 예루살렘에 사는 모든 사람에게 알려졌으니 우리도 부인할 수없는지라
[17] 이것이 민간에 더 퍼지지 못하게 저희를 위협하여 이 후에는 이 이름으로 아무 사람에게도 말하지 말게 하자 하고
[18] 그들을 불러 경계하여 도무지 예수의 이름으로 말하지도 말고 가르치지도 말라 하니
[19] 베드로와 요한이 대답하여 가로되 하나님 앞에서 너희 말 듣는 것이 하나님 말씀 듣는 것보다 옳은가 판단하라
[20] 우리는 보고 들은 것을 말하지 아니할 수 없다 하니
