[ Ecclesiastes 9:13 - 9:18 ] - hymn 195 Words of the wise, spoken quietly, should be heard. - Ecclesiastes 9:17 NKJV My niece¡¯s husband recently wrote these words on a social media site: ¡°I would say a lot more online if it weren¡¯t for this little voice that prompts me not to. As a follower of Jesus, you might think that little voice is the Holy Spirit. It isn¡¯t. It¡¯s my wife, Heidi.¡± With the smile comes a sobering thought. The cautions of a discerning friend can reflect the wisdom of God. Ecclesiastes 9 says that the ¡°words of the wise, spoken quietly, should be heard¡±(v.17 NKJV). Scripture warns us not to be wise in our own eyes or proud (Prov.3:7; Isa.5:21; Rom.12:16). In other words, let¡¯s not assume that we have all the answers! Proverbs 19:20 says, ¡°Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise.¡± Whether it is a friend, a spouse, a pastor, or a co-worker, God can use others to teach us more of His wisdom. ¡°Wisdom reposes in the heart of the discerning,¡± declares the book of Proverbs (14:33). Part of recognizing the Spirit¡¯s wisdom is discovering how to listen and learn from each other. - Cindy Hess Kasper		[ 전도서 9:13 - 9:18 ] - 찬송가 195 장 지혜로운 사람의 조용한 말을 듣는 것이 더 낫다 - 전도서 9:17, 새번역 최근에 조카사위가 온라인에 다음과 같은 글을 올렸습니다. “내가 온라인에 더 많은 글을 올리지 못하는 것은 그렇게 하지 말라는 작은 목소리 때문입니다. 예수님을 믿는 사람으로서 당신은 이 작은 목소리가 성령님의 목소리라고 생각하실지 모르겠습니다. 그렇지 않습니다. 그것은 내 아내 하이디의 목소리입니다.” 미소와 함께 분명한 생각이 하나 떠오릅니다. 분별력이 있는 친구가 주는 주의는 하나님의 지혜로부터 나오는 것일 수 있다는 것입니다. 전도서 9장은 “지혜로운 사람의 조용한 말을 듣는 것이 더 낫다”(17절, 새번역)라고 말합니다. 성경은 우리에게 스스로 지혜롭다고 여기거나 교만하지 말라고 경고합니다(잠 3:7; 사 5:21; 롬 12:16). 다시 말해, 우리는 모든 것을 다 안다고 생각하지 맙시다! 잠언 19장 20절은 “너는 권고를 들으며 훈계를 받으라 그리하면 네가 필경은 지혜롭게 되리라”라고 말합니다. 하나님은 친구나 배우자, 목사, 직장 동료 등 여러 사람들을 통해서 하나님의 지혜를 우리에게 가르쳐주실 수 있습니다. 잠언은 “지혜는 명철한 자의 마음에 머물거니와”라고 서술하고 있습니다(14:33). 성령님의 지혜를 알 수 있는 길 중 하나는 상대방의 말을 귀담아 듣고 그들로부터 배우는 법을 발견하는 것입니다.

Dear Lord, thank You for Your Word that teaches me how to love You and others. Thank You also for the people You place in my life to remind me of Your truth.

True wisdom begins and ends with God.

Ecclesiastes 9:13-18

[13] I also saw under the sun this example of wisdom that greatly impressed me:
[14] There was once a small city with only a few people in it. And a powerful king came against it, surrounded it and built huge siege works against it.
[15] Now there lived in that city a man poor but wise, and he saved the city by his wisdom. But nobody remembered that poor man.
[16] So I said, ¡°Wisdom is better than strength.¡± But the poor man¡¯s wisdom is despised, and his words are no longer heeded.
[17] The quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded than the shouts of a ruler of fools.
[18] Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good.

사랑하는 주님, 주님과 다른 사람들을 어떻게 사랑해야 하는지 가르쳐주신 주님의 말씀에 감사드립니다. 또한 주님의 진리를 기억나게 하시려고 제 삶 속으로 사람들을 보내주시니 감사합니다.

진정한 지혜는 하나님으로부터 시작되고 하나님으로 끝난다.

전도서 9:13-18

[13] 내가 또 해 아래서 지혜를 보고 크게 여긴 것이 이러하니
[14] 곧 어떤 작고 인구가 많지 않은 성읍에 큰 임금이 와서 에워싸고 큰 흉벽을 쌓고 치고자 할 때에
[15] 그 성읍 가운데 가난한 지혜자가 있어서 그 지혜로 그 성읍을 건진 것이라 그러나 이 가난한 자를 기억하는 사람이 없었도다
[16] 그러므로 내가 이르기를 지혜가 힘보다 낫다마는 가난한 자의 지혜가 멸시를 받고 그 말이 신청되지 아니한다 하였노라
[17] 종용히 들리는 지혜자의 말이 우매자의 어른의 호령보다 나으니라
[18] 지혜가 병기보다 나으니라 그러나 한 죄인이 많은 선을 패궤케 하느니라
