We Have Fruit!		우리에게 과일이 있어요!
[ Joshua 24:8 - 24:14 ] - hymn 347 I gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities you did not build. - Joshua 24:13 The young mother sighed as she scraped together lunch for her 3-year-old daughter. Spying the empty fruit basket on the table in their tiny kitchen, she sighed and said aloud, ¡°If we just had a basket of fruit, I would feel rich!¡± Her little girl overheard her. Weeks passed. God sustained the small family. Still, the struggling mom worried. Then one day her little girl bounded into the kitchen. ¡°Look, Mommy, we¡¯re rich!¡± she exclaimed, pointing at the full fruit basket on the table. Nothing had changed except that the family had purchased a bag of apples. When Joshua, the leader of the Israelites, was about to die, he shared a message from the Lord that recounted all God had done for them. And he noted, ¡°You lived in the wilderness for a long time¡±(Josh.24:7). Then he said, ¡°[God] gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities you did not build; and you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant¡±(v.13). Joshua set up a large stone to remind Israel of God¡¯s provision (v.26). Like the Israelites, after a time of challenge and scarcity, that family now lives in a different place and enjoys fruit trees in a spacious yard, planted years earlier by a previous owner. If you visit them, you¡¯ll fi-nd a bowl of fruit in their kitchen. It reminds them of God¡¯s goodness and how a 3-year-old infused her family with faith, joy, and perspective. - Tim Gustafson		[ 여호수아 24:8 - 24:14 ] - 찬송가 347 장 내가 또 너희가 수고하지 아니한 땅과 너희가 건설하지 아니한 성읍들을 너희에게 주었더니 - 여호수아 24:13 젊은 엄마가 세 살 난 딸을 위해 이것저것 긁어모아 점심을 준비하면서 한숨을 쉬었습니다. 조그만 부엌의 식탁 위에 놓인 빈 과일 바구니를 보며, 그녀는 “바구니에 과일이 가득하면 부자가 된 느낌일 텐데!”라고 한숨 섞인 소리로 크게 말했습니다. 그녀의 어린 딸이 어쩌다 그 말을 듣게 되었습니다. 몇 주가 지났습니다. 하나님은 그 작은 가족을 계속 지탱해주셨지만, 생활고에 시달리는 엄마는 여전히 걱정하고 있었습니다. 그러던 어느 날 어린 딸이 부엌으로 뛰어 들어왔습니다. 아이는 식탁 위에 놓인 가득 찬 과일바구니를 가리키며 “엄마 보세요, 우리는 부자야!”라고 소리 질렀습니다. 그 가족이 사과 한 봉지를 산 것 외에는 변한 것은 아무것도 없었습니다. 이스라엘 백성의 지도자 여호수아는 죽음을 앞두고 하나님이 그들을 위해 행하신 일들을 하나하나 열거하며 하나님이 주신 말씀을 나누었습니다. 그리고 “너희가 많은 날을 광야에서 거주하였느니라”(수 24:7)라고 특별히 언급한 후, “[하나님은] 너희가 수고하지 아니한 땅과 너희가 건설하지 아니한 성읍들을 너희에게 주었더니 너희가 그 가운데에 거주하며 너희는 또 너희가 심지 아니한 포도원과 감람원의 열매를 먹는다 하셨느니라”(13절)라고 말했습니다. 여호수아는 공급해주시는 이스라엘의 하나님을 상기시키기 위해 큰 돌을 취하여 세웠습니다(26절). 도전과 가난의 시기를 거친 후 그 가족은 이스라엘 백성들처럼 지금은 다른 곳에서 살면서, 넓은 정원에서 전 주인이 오래전에 심어놓은 과일 나무를 즐기고 있습니다. 만일 당신이 그들을 방문한다면 부엌에서 과일이 담긴 광주리를 보게 될 것입니다. 그것은 그들에게 하나님의 선하심을, 그리고 어떻게 세 살 난 아이가 가족에게 믿음과 기쁨과 새로운 전망을 갖게 해주었는지를 상기시켜주고 있습니다.

Thank God for how He has provided in the past. Thank Him for what He will do. Ask Him what He wants you to do. Then trust Him.

Remembering God¡¯s provision for yesterday gives hope and strength for today.

Joshua 24:2,8-14

[2] And Joshua said to all the people, "Thus says the LORD God of Israel: 'Your fathers, including Terah, the father of Abraham and the father of Nahor, dwelt on the other side of the River in old times; and they served other gods.

[8] 'And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, who dwelt on the other side of the Jordan, and they fought with you. But I gave them into your hand, that you might possess their land, and I destroyed them from before you.
[9] 'Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose to make war against Israel, and sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you.
[10] 'But I would not listen to Balaam; therefore he continued to bless you. So I delivered you out of his hand.
[11] 'Then you went over the Jordan and came to Jericho. And the men of Jericho fought against you--also the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. But I delivered them into your hand.
[12] 'I sent the hornet before you which drove them out from before you, also the two kings of the Amorites, but not with your sword or with your bow.
[13] 'I have given you a land for which you did not labor, and cities which you did not build, and you dwell in them; you eat of the vineyards and olive groves which you did not plant.'
[14] "Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD!

하나님이 과거에 어떻게 공급해주셨는지에 대해, 그리고 앞으로 하나님이 하실 일에 대해 감사하십시오. 하나님이 당신에게 무엇을 하기를 원하시는지 물어보십시오. 그러고 나서 하나님을 신뢰하십시오.

어제 하나님이 공급해주신 것을 기억하면 오늘 소망과 힘을 갖게 된다.

여호수아 24:2, 8-14

[2] 여호수아가 모든 백성에게 이르되 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 옛적에 너희의 조상들 곧 아브라함의 아버지, 나홀의 아버지 데라가 강 저쪽에 거주하여 다른 신들을 섬겼으나

[8] 내가 또 너희를 인도하여 요단 저쪽에 거주하는 아모리 족속의 땅으로 들어가게 하매 그들이 너희와 싸우기로 내가 그들을 너희 손에 넘겨 주매 너희가 그 땅을 점령하였고 나는 그들을 너희 앞에서 멸절시켰으며
[9] 또한 모압 왕 십볼의 아들 발락이 일어나 이스라엘과 싸우더니 사람을 보내어 브올의 아들 발람을 불러다가 너희를 저주하게 하려 하였으나
[10] 내가 발람을 위해 듣기를 원하지 아니하였으므로 그가 오히려 너희를 축복하였고 나는 너희를 그의 손에서 건져내었으며
[11] 너희가 요단을 건너 여리고에 이른즉 여리고 주민들 곧 아모리 족속과 브리스 족속과 가나안 족속과 헷 족속과 기르가스 족속과 히위 족속과 여부스 족속이 너희와 싸우기로 내가 그들을 너희의 손에 넘겨 주었으며
[12] 내가 왕벌을 너희 앞에 보내어 그 아모리 족속의 두 왕을 너희 앞에서 쫓아내게 하였나니 너희의 칼이나 너희의 활로써 이같이 한 것이 아니며
[13] 내가 또 너희가 수고하지 아니한 땅과 너희가 건설하지 아니한 성읍들을 너희에게 주었더니 너희가 그 가운데에 거주하며 너희는 또 너희가 심지 아니한 포도원과 감람원의 열매를 먹는다 하셨느니라
[14] 그러므로 이제는 여호와를 경외하며 온전함과 진실함으로 그를 섬기라 너희의 조상들이 강 저쪽과 애굽에서 섬기던 신들을 치워 버리고 여호와만 섬기라
