We Can Know		우리는 알 수 있다
[ 1 John 5:10 - 5:15 ] - hymn 543 I write these things to you ... that you may know that you have eternal life. - 1 John 5:13 As I sat on a train headed for an important appointment, I began to wonder if I was on the right train. I had never traveled that rou-te before and had failed to ask for help. Finally, overcome by uncertainty and doubt, I exited at the next station—only to be told I had indeed been on the right train! That incident reminded me how doubt can rob us of peace and confidence. At one time I had struggled with the assurance of my salvation, but God helped me deal with my doubt. Later, after sharing the story of my conversion and my assurance that I was going to heaven, someone asked, ¡°How can you be sure you are saved and going to heaven?¡± I confidently but humbly pointed to the verse that God had used to help me: ¡°I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life¡±(1 John 5:13). God promises that through faith in His Son, Jesus, we already have eternal life: ¡°God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son¡±(v.11). This assurance sharpens our faith, lifts us up when we are downhearted, and gives us courage in times of doubt. - Lawrence Darmani		[ 요한1서 5:10 - 5:15 ] - 찬송가 543 장 내가…너희에게 이것을 쓰는 것은 너희로 하여금 너희에게 영생이 있음을 알게 하려 함이라 - 요한1서 5:13 중요한 약속에 가기 위해 기차를 탔는데 내가 기차를 제대로 탔는지 의심스러워지기 시작했습니다. 전에 한 번도 타본 적이 없었던 노선이었는 데다가 누구에게 도움을 청하지도 못했습니다. 결국 나는 불안과 의심을 이겨내지 못해 다음 역에서 내리고 말았는데, 내가 제대로 기차를 탔었다는 것을 확인했을 뿐이었습니다! 그 일은 나에게 의심이 어떻게 우리의 평화와 확신을 빼앗아 가는지를 상기시켜 주었습니다. 한 때 나는 나의 구원의 확신에 대해 심각하게 고민한 적이 있었습니다. 그러나 그때 하나님이 나의 의심을 해결할 수 있도록 도와주셨습니다. 그 후 나의 회심에 대한 이야기와 천국에 대한 확신을 다른 사람들과 함께 나누었을 때, “당신이 구원받았고 천국에 간다는 것을 어떻게 그렇게 확신할 수 있습니까?” 하고 묻는 사람이 있었습니다. 나는 확신에 차면서도 겸손하게 하나님이 나를 도우실 때 가르쳐주셨던 성구를 보여주었습니다. “내가 하나님의 아들을 믿는 너희에게 이것을 쓴 것은 너희로 하여금 너희에게 영생이 있음을 알게 하려함이라”(요일 5:13). 하나님은 그분의 아들 예수님을 믿음으로 우리가 ‘이미’ 영생을 얻었다고 약속해주십니다. “하나님이 우리에게 영생을 주신 것과 이 생명이 그의 아들 안에 있는 그것이니라”(11절). 이 확신은 우리의 믿음을 강하게 하고, 우리가 낙심될 때 일으켜 세워주며, 의심될 때 우리에게 용기를 불어넣어 줍니다.

Dear Lord, during my times of doubt help me remember the promise of Your Word. Since I have invited Jesus into my life and placed my faith in His payment for my sins, You have promised me eternal life with You.

Recalling God¡¯s promises destroys doubt.

1 John 5:10-15

[10] He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.
[11] And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
[12] He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
[13] These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
[14] Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
[15] And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

사랑하는 주님, 의심이 들 때에 주님의 말씀의 약속을 기억하게 도와주소서. 내 삶에 예수님을 영접하고 주님이 내 죄에 대한 대가를 지불하신 것을 내가 믿기에, 주님이 나에게 주님과 함께하는 영생을 약속해주셨습니다.

하나님의 약속을 상기하면 의심은 소멸되어 버린다.

요한1서 5:10-15

[10] 하나님의 아들을 믿는 자는 자기 안에 증거가 있고 하나님을 믿지 아니하는 자는 하나님을 거짓말하는 자로 만드나니 이는 하나님께서 그 아들에 대하여 증언하신 증거를 믿지 아니하였음이라
[11] 또 증거는 이것이니 하나님이 우리에게 영생을 주신 것과 이 생명이 그의 아들 안에 있는 그것이니라
[12] 아들이 있는 자에게는 생명이 있고 하나님의 아들이 없는 자에게는 생명이 없느니라
[13] 내가 하나님의 아들의 이름을 믿는 너희에게 이것을 쓰는 것은 너희로 하여금 너희에게 영생이 있음을 알게 하려 함이라
[14] 그를 향하여 우리가 가진 바 담대함이 이것이니 그의 뜻대로 무엇을 구하면 들으심이라
[15] 우리가 무엇이든지 구하는 바를 들으시는 줄을 안즉 우리가 그에게 구한 그것을 얻은 줄을 또한 아느니라
