Family Privilege		가정의 특권
[ John 1:6 - 1:14 ] - hymn 283 As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God. - John 1:12 When I was in primary school in Ghana, I had to live with a loving and caring family away from my parents. One day, all the children assembled for a special family meeting. The first part involved all of us sharing individual experiences. But next, when only ¡°blood children¡± were required to be present, I was politely excluded. Then the stark reality hit me: I was not a ¡°child of the house.¡± Despite their love for me, the family required that I should be excused because I was only living with them; I was not a legal part of their family. This incident reminds me of John 1:11-12. The Son of God came to His own people and they rejected Him. Those who received Him then, and receive Him now, are given the right to become God¡¯s children. When we are adopted into His family, ¡°the Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God¡±(Rom.8:16). Jesus doesn't exclude anybody who is adopted by the Father. Rather, He welcomes us as a permanent part of His family. ¡°As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name¡±(John 1:12). - Lawrence Darmani		[ 요한복음 1:6 - 1:14 ] - 찬송가 283 장 영접하는 자 곧 그 이름을 믿는 자들에게는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세를 주셨으니 - 요한복음1:12 가나에서 초등학교에 다닐 때, 나는 부모님을 떠나서 넘치는 사랑으로 잘 보살펴주는 한 가정에서 살아야 했습니다. 하루는 모든 자녀들이 모인 가운데 특별한 가족 모임을 갖게 되었습니다. 모임의 첫 시작으로 우리는 모두 각자의 경험을 함께 나누었습니다. 그러나 그 다음엔 그 집 “혈통의 자녀들”만 참석하도록 되어서 나는 조심스럽게 제외되었습니다. 그러자 나는 “그 집의 자녀”가 아니라는 냉엄한 현실을 직시하게 되었습니다. 비록 그분들이 나를 사랑하기는 하지만 나는 단지 그들과 같이 살고 있을 뿐 그들의 합법적인 가족의 일원이 아니므로 가족으로부터 제외되어야만 했습니다. 이 사건은 요한복음 1:11-12을 내게 상기시켜 주었습니다. 하나님의 아들이 친히 그분의 백성들에게 왔는데 백성들은 그를 거부했습니다. 그때 예수님을 영접했던 사람들이나 지금 그를 영접하는 사람들에게는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권리가 주어집니다. 우리가 그분의 가족으로 입양될 때, “성령이 친히 우리의 영과 더불어 우리가 하나님의 자녀인 것을 증언하십니다”(롬 8:16). 예수님은 하나님께 입양된 사람들은 누구도 제외시키지 않으시고, 오히려 영원히 그분의 가족의 일부로 반갑게 맞아주십니다. “영접하는 자 곧 그 이름을 믿는 자들에게는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세를 주셨습니다”(요 1:12).

Thank You, Father, for making it possible for me to be Your child. I¡¯m grateful to be Yours and not to have to worry about whether You will remove me from Your family. I am Yours and You are mine.

Assurance of salvation is not in what you know but who you know.

John 1:6-14

[6] There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
[7] This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe.
[8] He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
[9] That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
[10] He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
[11] He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
[12] But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
[13] who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
[14] And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

하나님 아버지, 제가 하나님의 자녀가 되게 해주셔서 감사합니다. 하나님의 가족이 된 것과, 하나님의 가족으로부터 제외될 걱정을 안 해도 되게 해주셔서 감사합니다. 저는 하나님의 것이며, 하나님은 저의 하나님이십니다.

구원의 확신은 당신이 알고 있는 지식에 있지 않고 당신이 알고 있는 그분께 있다.

요한복음 1:6-14

[6] 하나님께로부터 보내심을 받은 사람이 있으니 그의 이름은 요한이라
[7] 그가 증언하러 왔으니 곧 빛에 대하여 증언하고 모든 사람이 자기로 말미암아 믿게 하려 함이라
[8] 그는 이 빛이 아니요 이 빛에 대하여 증언하러 온 자라
[9] 참 빛 곧 세상에 와서 각 사람에게 비추는 빛이 있었나니
[10] 그가 세상에 계셨으며 세상은 그로 말미암아 지은 바 되었으되 세상이 그를 알지 못하였고
[11] 자기 땅에 오매 자기 백성이 영접하지 아니하였으나
[12] 영접하는 자 곧 그 이름을 믿는 자들에게는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세를 주셨으니
[13] 이는 혈통으로나 육정으로나 사람의 뜻으로 나지 아니하고 오직 하나님께로부터 난 자들이니라
[14] 말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시매 우리가 그의 영광을 보니 아버지의 독생자의 영광이요 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라
