In The Same Boat		같은 배를 타고 있는
[ Matthew 8:23 - 8:27 ] - hymn 388 When He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. — Matthew 8:23 When the cruise ship pulled into port, the passengers got off as quickly as possible. They had spent the last few days enduring an outbreak of a virus, and hundreds of people had been sickened. One passenger, interviewed as he disembarked, said: ¡°Well, I don¡¯t mean to complain so much. I mean I know everybody was in the same boat.¡± His seemingly unintentional pun made the reporter smile. In Matthew 8, we read about another trip on the water (vv.23-27). Jesus got into the boat and the disciples followed Him (v.23). Then a terrible storm arose, and Jesus¡¯ disciples feared for their lives. They awakened a sleeping Jesus, who they assumed was unaware of the crisis. While Jesus was literally in the same boat as His followers, He was unconcerned about the weather. As the all-powerful Creator, He had no fear of a storm. ¡°He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm¡±(v.26). But we are not all-powerful, and we are oh-so-prone to fear. So what are we to do when the storms of life rage around us? Whether they quickly blow over or last for a long time, we can be confident in this: We are in the same boat with the One whom even the winds and the sea obey. — Cindy Hess Kasper		[ 마태복음 8:23 - 8:27 ] - 찬송가 388 장 배에 오르시매 제자들이 따랐더니 — 마태복음 8:23 유람선이 부두에 정박하자 승객들이 최대한 빨리 배에서 내렸습니다. 여행 중 마지막 며칠 동안 배 안에서 발병한 바이러스 전염병으로 수백 명의 사람들이 병을 앓았던 것입니다. 한 승객이 육지에 내린 후 인터뷰에서 이렇게 말했습니다. “글쎄요, 난 그렇게 심하게 불평하고 싶지 않습니다. 내 말은 우리 모두가 같은 배를 타고 있었다는 것이지요.”그의 의도되지 않은 익살에 리포터는 미소를 지었습니다. 마태복음 8장에서 우리는 또 다른 물 위의 여정을 봅니다(23-27절). 예수님이 배에 오르시자 제자들이 주님을 따랐습니다(23절). 그런데 갑자기 사나운 폭풍이 몰아닥쳤고, 예수님의 제자들은 생명의 위협을 느꼈습니다. 이 위기를 예수님이 모르고 있다고 추측한 제자들은 주무시고 계신 예수님을 깨웠습니다. 예수님은 그의 제자들과 같은 배를 타고 계셨지만 날씨에 대해서 괘념치 않으셨습니다. 전능하신 창조주로서, 예수님은 폭풍을 두려워하지 않으셨습니다. “[예수께서] 일어나 바람과 바다를 꾸짖으시니, 바다가 아주 잔잔해졌다”(26절, 새번역). 그러나 우리는 전능하지 못하기에 너무 쉽게 두려움에 빠집니다. 그렇다면 우리의 인생에 폭풍이 몰아칠 때 우리는 어떻게 해야 할까요? 그 폭풍이 빨리 지나가든 오래 지속되든 우리는 그 가운데에서 평안할 수 있습니다. 우리는 바람과 바다까지도 순종하는 주님과 같은 배를 타고 있기 때문입니다.

Heavenly Father, this life is full of uncertainty. But You have promised us Your unfailing presence. May we see You today—especially when we are tempted to panic or to do things in our own strength.

No danger can come so near the Christian that God is not nearer.

Matthew 8:23-27

[23] Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him.
[24] And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep.
[25] Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, "Lord, save us! We are perishing!"
[26] But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
[27] So the men marveled, saying, "Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?"

하나님 아버지, 우리의 삶은 불확실한 것들로 가득 차 있습니다. 그러나
하나님은 변함없이 우리와 함께 해주신다고 우리에게 약속해주셨습니다.
우리가 오늘 하나님을 보게 하시되, 특별히 우리가 낙심되어 당황하거나
우리 자신의 힘을 의지하려 할 때 하나님을 볼 수

하나님이 항상 가까이 계시기 때문에
어떤 위험도 그리스도인에게 가까이 다가올 수 없다.

마태복음 8:23-27

[23] 배에 오르시매 제자들이 따랐더니
[24] 바다에 큰 놀이 일어나 배가 물결에 덮이게 되었으되 예수께서는 주무시는지라
[25] 그 제자들이 나아와 깨우며 이르되 주여 구원하소서 우리가 죽겠나이다
[26] 예수께서 이르시되 어찌하여 무서워하느냐 믿음이 작은 자들아 하시고 곧 일어나사 바람과 바다를 꾸짖으시니 아주 잔잔하게 되거늘
[27] 그 사람들이 놀랍게 여겨 이르되 이이가 어떠한 사람이기에 바람과 바다도 순종하는가 하더라
