[ Deuteronomy 11:8 - 11:15 ] - hymn 552 The land which you cross over to possess is a land ... for which the Lord your God cares. — Deuteronomy 11:11-12 Friends are starting to plan their summer vegetable gardens. Some get an early start by planting seeds indoors where they can control the conditions and provide the best environment for sprouting. After the danger of frost has passed, they will transplant the seedlings outdoors. Once the garden is planted, the work of weeding, feeding, watering, and guarding against rodents and insects begins. Producing food is a lot of work. Moses reminded the Israelites of this before they entered the promised land. While living in Egypt, they had to do the hard work of irrigating crops by hand (Deut.11:10), but in the place where God was taking them He promised to ease their work by sending spring and autumn rains: ¡°I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains¡±(v.14 niv). The only condition was that they ¡°faithfully obey the commands¡± He gave them—¡°to love the Lord your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul¡±(v.13 niv). The Lord was taking His people to a place where their obedience and His blessing would make them a light to those around them. God wants the same for us and from us: He wants our love to be displayed in our obedience so that we might be His light to people around us. The love and obedience we have to offer, though, is far less than He deserves. But He is our provider, blessing us and enabling us to be a light that the world will notice. — Julie Ackerman Link		[ 신명기 11:8 - 11:15 ] - 찬송가 552 장 너희가 건너가서 차지할 땅은…네 하나님 여호와께서 돌보아주시는 땅이라 — 신명기 11:11-12 친구들이 여름 야채 밭을 만들 계획을 세우기 시작했습니다. 몇몇 친구는 최고의 발아 조건을 만들 수 있는 실내에서 씨앗을 키우면서 그 일을 일찍 시작했습니다. 더 이상 서리가 내리지 않으면 그 묘목들은 밖으로 옮겨 심겨질 것입니다. 그 후에는 잡초제거, 비료주기, 물주기, 그리고 해충과 쥐들로부터 보호하는 일들이 시작됩니다. 농사는 이렇게 손이 많이 가는 일입니다. 모세는 이스라엘 백성들이 약속의 땅으로 들어가기 전에 그들에게 이 사실을 상기시켜 주었습니다. 애굽에서 사는 동안, 그들은 손으로 농작물에 물을 대는 힘든 일을 해야만 했습니다(신 11:10). 그러나 하나님이 인도하시는 땅에서는 하나님이 봄과 가을에 비를 주심으로 그들의 수고를 덜어주시겠다고 약속하셨습니다. “주님께서 당신들 땅에 가을비와 봄비를 철 따라 내려 주셔서”(14절, 새번역). 단 하나의 조건은 하나님께서 “명령하신 것을 신실하게 지키는”것이었습니다. “너희의 하나님 여호와를 사랑하여 마음을 다하고 뜻을 다하여 섬기면”(13절). 하나님은 그의 백성들을 그들의 순종과 하나님의 은혜로 그들이 그들 주변을 밝히는 빛이 될 곳으로 인도하셨습니다. 하나님은 우리를 위해, 그리고 우리로부터도 똑같은 것을 바라십니다. 하나님은 하나님을 향한 우리의 사랑이 순종으로 나타나서 우리가 주위 사람들에게 하나님의 빛이 될 수 있기를 바라십니다. 우리가 드려야 하는 사랑과 순종은 하나님께서 마땅히 받으셔야 할 것보다 훨씬 적은 것입니다. 그러나 하나님이 우리에게 공급해주시고 복을 내려주셔서 우리가 세상이 알아차릴 수 있는 빛이 되게 해주십니다.

Loving God doesn¡¯t make life effortless, but having His strength makes it easier.

Deuteronomy 11:8-15

[8] "Therefore you shall keep every commandment which I command you today, that you may be strong, and go in and possess the land which you cross over to possess,
[9] "and that you may prolong your days in the land which the LORD swore to give your fathers, to them and their descendants, 'a land flowing with milk and honey.'
[10] "For the land which you go to possess is not like the land of Egypt from which you have come, where you sowed your seed and watered it by foot, as a vegetable garden;
[11] "but the land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven,
[12] "a land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year.
[13] 'And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the LORD your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,
[14] 'then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.
[15] 'And I will send grass in your fields for your livestock, that you may eat and be filled.'

하나님을 사랑한다고 노력 없이 살아도 된다는 것은 아니지만,
하나님의 능력을 소유하면 삶이 더 쉬워진다.

신명기 11:8-15

[8] 그러므로 너희는 내가 오늘 너희에게 명하는 모든 명령을 지키라 그리하면 너희가 강성할 것이요 너희가 건너가 차지할 땅에 들어가서 그것을 차지할 것이며
[9] 또 여호와께서 너희의 조상들에게 맹세하여 그들과 그들의 후손에게 주리라고 하신 땅 곧 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅에서 너희의 날이 장구하리라
[10] 네가 들어가 차지하려 하는 땅은 네가 나온 애굽 땅과 같지 아니하니 거기에서는 너희가 파종한 후에 발로 물 대기를 채소밭에 댐과 같이 하였거니와
[11] 너희가 건너가서 차지할 땅은 산과 골짜기가 있어서 하늘에서 내리는 비를 흡수하는 땅이요
[12] 네 하나님 여호와께서 돌보아 주시는 땅이라 연초부터 연말까지 네 하나님 여호와의 눈이 항상 그 위에 있느니라
[13] 내가 오늘 너희에게 명하는 내 명령을 너희가 만일 청종하고 너희의 하나님 여호와를 사랑하여 마음을 다하고 뜻을 다하여 섬기면
[14] 여호와께서 너희의 땅에 이른 비, 늦은 비를 적당한 때에 내리시리니 너희가 곡식과 포도주와 기름을 얻을 것이요
[15] 또 가축을 위하여 들에 풀이 나게 하시리니 네가 먹고 배부를 것이라
