Hope Lives		희망은 계속된다
[ 1 Peter 1:3 - 1:9 ] - hymn 312 Your faith, being much more precious than gold ... may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ. — 1 Peter 1:7 When unspeakable tragedy shatters people¡¯s lives, they search for answers. Recently, a mother who had lost a teenager said to me, ¡°I can¡¯t figure it out. I don¡¯t know if I can believe anymore. I try, but God doesn¡¯t make sense to me. What does it all mean?¡± There are no easy answers to such big concerns. But for those who have trusted Christ, there is hope—whether we are basking in blessings or grinding through grief. Peter spells this out in his first letter. In glowing terms, he praises God for our ¡°new birth into a living hope¡±(1 Peter 1:3 niv) through our salvation. That hope can bring joy even in the middle of tragedy. He also assures us of the permanence of this hope (v.4). He then tells us of the heart-breaking reality that we may ¡°suffer grief in all kinds of trials¡±(v.6 niv). Those who have suffered loss turn hopeful hearts toward Peter¡¯s next words: These come so that ¡°your faith ... may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ¡±(v.7). Trials—seemingly random and inexplicable—can be seen differently in the light of these words. In the midst of tragedy, the power and beauty of our salvation can shine through because of our great Savior. And that may be just enough light to get a troubled person through another day. — Dave Branon		[ 베드로전서 1:3 - 1:9 ] - 찬송가 312 장 너희 믿음의 확실함은…금보다 더 귀하여 예수 그리스도께서 나타나실 때에 칭찬과 영광과 존귀를 얻게 할 것이니라 — 베드로전서 1:7 말할 수 없는 비극이 삶을 산산이 부셔놓을 때, 사람들은 그 이유를 찾습니다. 최근에 십대의 자녀를 잃은 한 어머니가 “도무지 알 수가 없어요. 더 이상 하나님을 믿을 수 없을 것 같아요. 노력해 봐도 하나님은 이해가 안돼요. 이 모든 일이 뜻하는 것이 무엇인가요?”라고 나에게 말했습니다. 그런 큰 문제에 대한 쉬운 해답은 없습니다. 그러나 그리스도를 믿는 사람들에게는 축복의 은혜를 받든 슬픔으로 고통을 당하든 희망이 있습니다. 베드로는 그의 첫 편지에서 이것을 말해줍니다. 그는 아주 강렬한 어조로 우리의 구원을 통하여 우리를 “거듭나게 하사 산 소망이 있게 하신”(벧전 1:3) 하나님을 찬양합니다. 그 소망은 비극의 한 가운데에서도 기쁨을 가져다줄 수 있습니다. 그는 또한 이 소망의 영원함을 우리에게 확신시켜줍니다(4절). 그런 후 그는 “여러 가지 시험으로 말미암아 잠깐 근심하게 되지 않을 수 없었다”(6절)라는 가슴 아픈 현실을 말합니다. 그러나 상실의 고통을 겪은 사람들에게 베드로의 다음의 말은 소망을 가져다줍니다. “너희 믿음의 확실함은…예수 그리스도께서 나타나실 때에 칭찬과 영광과 존귀를 얻게 할 것이니라”(7절). 이 말씀들은 예측할 수도, 설명할 수도 없이 찾아오는 시련들을 다른 관점으로 볼 수 있게 합니다. 비극의 한 가운데에서도 우리의 위대하신 구주 때문에 우리 구원의 능력과 아름다움이 빛을 발할 수 있습니다. 그 빛은 고통 받는 사람이 또 다른 하루를 견딜 수 있게 할만큼 충분한 빛이 될 수 있습니다.

Lord, You assure us that the grand salvation You provided is proved genuine in our pain and that it leads to glory for You. Help us to begin each new day with renewed hope in You.

The light of salvation shines clearly even in the darkest night.

1 Peter 1:3-9

[3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
[4] to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
[5] who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
[6] In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,
[7] that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
[8] whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,
[9] receiving the end of your faith--the salvation of your souls.

주님, 주님이 주신 구원은 우리 고통 속에서도 진실한 것이며,
주님의 영광으로 이끄는 것임을 우리에게 확신시켜 주소서.
주님 안에서 새로운 소망으로
매일 새로운 하루를 시작하게 도와주소서.

구원의 빛은 아주 캄캄한 밤에도 밝게 빛난다.

베드로전서 1:3-9

[3] 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 아버지 하나님을 찬송하리로다 그의 많으신 긍휼대로 예수 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 부활하게 하심으로 말미암아 우리를 거듭나게 하사 산 소망이 있게 하시며
[4] 썩지 않고 더럽지 않고 쇠하지 아니하는 유업을 잇게 하시나니 곧 너희를 위하여 하늘에 간직하신 것이라
[5] 너희는 말세에 나타내기로 예비하신 구원을 얻기 위하여 믿음으로 말미암아 하나님의 능력으로 보호하심을 받았느니라
[6] 그러므로 너희가 이제 여러 가지 시험으로 말미암아 잠깐 근심하게 되지 않을 수 없으나 오히려 크게 기뻐하는도다
[7] 너희 믿음의 확실함은 불로 연단하여도 없어질 금보다 더 귀하여 예수 그리스도께서 나타나실 때에 칭찬과 영광과 존귀를 얻게 할 것이니라
[8] 예수를 너희가 보지 못하였으나 사랑하는도다 이제도 보지 못하나 믿고 말할 수 없는 영광스러운 즐거움으로 기뻐하니
[9] 믿음의 결국 곧 영혼의 구원을 받음이라
