A Father Who Runs		달리는 아버지
[ Luke 15:11 - 15:24 ] - hymn 273 The Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost. — Luke 19:10 Every day a father craned his neck to look toward the distant road, waiting for his son¡¯s return. And every night he went to bed disappointed. But one day, a speck appeared. A lonesome silhouette stood against the crimson sky. Could that be my son? the father wondered. Then he caught sight of the familiar saunter. Yes, that has to be my son! And so while the son was ¡°still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him¡± (Luke 15:20). It is remarkable that the family patriarch did something that was considered undignified in Middle Eastern culture—he ran to meet his son. The father was full of unbridled joy at his son¡¯s return. The son didn¡¯t deserve such a reception. When he had asked his father for his share of the inheritance and left home, it was as if he had wished his father dead. But despite all that the son had done to his father, he was still his son (v.24). This parable reminds me that I¡¯m accepted by God because of His grace, not because of my merits. It assures me that I¡¯ll never sink so deep that God¡¯s grace can¡¯t reach me. Our heavenly Father is waiting to run to us with open arms. — Poh Fang Chia		[ 누가복음 15:11 - 15:24 ] - 찬송가 273 장 인자가 온 것은 잃어버린 자를 찾아 구원하려 함이니라 — 누가복음 19:10 아버지는 아들이 돌아오기를 기다리며 매일 목이 빠지도록 먼 길을 바라보았습니다. 그리고는 매일 밤 실망한 채 잠이 들었습니다. 그러던 어느 날 무엇인가가 보였습니다. 쓸쓸해 보이는 그림자가 진홍빛 하늘을 배경으로 서 있었습니다. ‘내 아들인가?’아버지는 생각했습니다. 곧 그는 낯익은 걸음걸이를 알아차릴 수 있었습니다. ‘그래! 내 아들이 맞구나!’ 그래서 아들이 “아직도 거리가 먼데 아버지가 그를 보고 측은히 여겨 달려가 목을 안고 입을 맞추었습니다”(눅 15:20). 중동지역의 문화에서 한 집의 가장이 달려가 아들을 맞이하는 것은 채신없는 행동으로 여겨졌기에 그것은 아주 주목할 만한 모습입니다. 아버지는 아들이 집에 돌아온 것에 무척 기뻐했습니다. 아들은 그런 환영을 받을만한 자격이 없었습니다. 아들이 아버지에게 자신의 유산을 요구하며 집을 떠났을 때는 마치 아버지가 죽기라도 바랐던 것 같았습니다. 하지만 그가 아버지에게 했던 모든 일에도 불구하고 여전히 그는 아버지의 아들이었습니다(24절). 이 비유는 하나님이 나를 받아주신 것은 나의 공로가 아닌 하나님의 은혜 때문이라는 것을 생각나게 해줍니다. 그리고 하나님의 은혜가 미치지 못할 만큼 깊은 곳으로 내가 절대 빠지지 않을 것이라는 확신을 줍니다. 하늘에 계신 우리의 아버지는 팔을 벌려 우리에게 달려오시려고 기다리고 계십니다.

Father, I¡¯m so grateful for all Your Son did for me at the cross. I¡¯m thankful for grace. I offer You a heart that desires to be like Jesus—merciful and gracious.

We deserve punishment and get forgiveness; we deserve God¡¯s wrath and get God¡¯s love. —Philip Yancey

Luke 15:11-24

[11] Then He said: "A certain man had two sons.
[12] "And the younger of them said to his father, 'Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.' So he divided to them his livelihood.
[13] "And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living.
[14] "But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want.
[15] "Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
[16] "And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything.
[17] "But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
[18] 'I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you,
[19] "and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants."'
[20] "And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.
[21] "And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.'
[22] "But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.
[23] 'And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry;
[24] 'for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' And they began to be merry.

하나님 아버지, 하나님의 아들이 나를 위해 십자가에서 하신
모든 일로 인해 감사를 드립니다. 그 은혜에 감사합니다.
자비롭고 은혜로우신 예수님을 닮고자 하는
저의 마음을 당신께 드립니다.

우리는 벌 받아 마땅하지만 용서를 받고,
하나님의 진노를 받아 마땅하지만 하나님의 사랑을 받는다.

누가복음 15:11-24

[11] 또 이르시되 어떤 사람에게 두 아들이 있는데
[12] 그 둘째가 아버지에게 말하되 아버지여 재산 중에서 내게 돌아올 분깃을 내게 주소서 하는지라 아버지가 그 살림을 각각 나눠 주었더니
[13] 그 후 며칠이 안 되어 둘째 아들이 재물을 다 모아 가지고 먼 나라에 가 거기서 허랑방탕하여 그 재산을 낭비하더니
[14] 다 없앤 후 그 나라에 크게 흉년이 들어 그가 비로소 궁핍한지라
[15] 가서 그 나라 백성 중 한 사람에게 붙여 사니 그가 그를 들로 보내어 돼지를 치게 하였는데
[16] 그가 돼지 먹는 쥐엄 열매로 배를 채우고자 하되 주는 자가 없는지라
[17] 이에 스스로 돌이켜 이르되 내 아버지에게는 양식이 풍족한 품꾼이 얼마나 많은가 나는 여기서 주려 죽는구나
[18] 내가 일어나 아버지께 가서 이르기를 아버지 내가 하늘과 아버지께 죄를 지었사오니
[19] 지금부터는 아버지의 아들이라 일컬음을 감당하지 못하겠나이다 나를 품꾼의 하나로 보소서 하리라 하고
[20] 이에 일어나서 아버지께로 돌아가니라 아직도 거리가 먼데 아버지가 그를 보고 측은히 여겨 달려가 목을 안고 입을 맞추니
[21] 아들이 이르되 아버지 내가 하늘과 아버지께 죄를 지었사오니 지금부터는 아버지의 아들이라 일컬음을 감당하지 못하겠나이다 하나
[22] 아버지는 종들에게 이르되 제일 좋은 옷을 내어다가 입히고 손에 가락지를 끼우고 발에 신을 신기라
[23] 그리고 살진 송아지를 끌어다가 잡으라 우리가 먹고 즐기자
[24] 이 내 아들은 죽었다가 다시 살아났으며 내가 잃었다가 다시 얻었노라 하니 그들이 즐거워하더라
