Too Much For Me		내겐 너무 과해요
[ Matthew 26:36 - 26:46 ] - hymn 388 O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. — Matthew 26:39 ¡°God never gives us more than we can handle,¡± someone said to a father whose 5-year-old son had just lost his battle with cancer. These words, which were intended to encourage him, instead depressed him and caused him to wonder why he wasn¡¯t ¡°handling¡± the loss of his boy at all. The pain was so much to bear that he could hardly even breathe. He knew his grief was too much for him and that he desperately needed God to hold him tight. The verse that some use to support the statement ¡°God never gives us more than we can handle¡± is 1 Corinthians 10:13, ¡°When you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it¡±(niv). But the context of these words is temptation, not suffering. We can choose the way out of temptation that God provides, but we can¡¯t choose a way out of suffering. Jesus Himself wanted a way out of His upcoming suffering when He prayed, ¡°My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death ... O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me¡±(Matt.26:38-39). Yet He willingly went through this for our salvation. When life seems too much to bear, that¡¯s when we throw ourselves on God¡¯s mercy, and He holds on to us. — Anne Cetas		[ 마태복음 26:36 - 26:46 ] - 찬송가 388 장 내 아버지여 만일 할 만하시거든 이 잔을 내게서 지나가게 하옵소서 — 마태복음 26:39 암 투병 끝에 다섯 살의 나이로 갓 세상을 떠난 아들을 둔 아버지에게 어떤 사람이 말했습니다. “하나님은 절대로 우리가 감당치 못할 일을 주시지 않아요.”용기를 주려고 했던 이 말은 오히려 그 아버지를 우울하게 만들었고, 왜 자신이 아들을 잃은 슬픔을 전혀 ‘감당’하지 못하고 있는가를 고민하게 만들었습니다. 그 고통은 숨쉬기가 어려울 만큼 견디기가 무척 힘들었습니다. 그는 자신의 슬픔이 너무나 커서 그를 꽉 붙잡아줄 하나님이 절대적으로 필요하다는 것을 알았습니다. “하나님은 절대로 우리가 감당하지 못할 일을 주시지 않는다”라는 말을 뒷받침하기 위해 사람들이 사용하는 성경구절은 고린도전서 10장 13절입니다. “시험 당할 즈음에 또한 피할 길을 내사 너희로 능히 감당하게 하시느니라.”그러나 이 말씀의 배경은 고난이 아니라 유혹입니다. 우리는 하나님이 허락하신 유혹에서 벗어나는 길은 선택할 수 있지만, 고난에서 벗어나는 길은 선택할 수가 없습니다. 예수님 자신도 다가오는 고난에서 벗어나시고자 “내 마음이 매우 고민하여 죽게 되었으니…내 아버지여 만일 할 만하시거든 이 잔을 내게서 지나가게 하옵소서”(마 26:38-39)라고 기도하셨습니다. 그러나 예수님은 우리를 구원하시기 위해 고난을 기꺼이 감당하셨습니다. 인생이 견딜 수 없이 힘들게 느껴질 때, 그때가 바로 하나님의 자비에 우리 자신을 던질 때입니다. 그러면 하나님께서 우리를 붙잡아주십니다.

Father, I feel vulnerable and weak. I know You are my refuge and strength, my help in trouble. I call upon Your name, Lord. Hold on to me.

With God behind you and His arms beneath you, you can face whatever lies ahead.

Matthew 26:36-46

[36] Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, "Sit here while I go and pray over there."
[37] And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed.
[38] Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me."
[39] He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will."
[40] Then He came to the disciples and found them asleep, and said to Peter, "What? Could you not watch with Me one hour?
[41] "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
[42] Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done."
[43] And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy.
[44] So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
[45] Then He came to His disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.
[46] "Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand."

하나님 아버지, 저는 상처받기 쉽고 약합니다.
저의 피난처시요 힘이시며
환난 중에 도움이 되시는 하나님.
주의 이름을 부르오니 저를 붙잡아주소서.

우리 뒤에 하나님이 계시고, 우리 아래에 주님의 팔이 붙들고 있다면,
우리는 앞에 있는 어떤 것도 대적할 수 있다.

마태복음 26:36-46

[36] 이에 예수께서 제자들과 함께 겟세마네라 하는 곳에 이르러 제자들에게 이르시되 내가 저기 가서 기도할 동안에 너희는 여기 앉아 있으라 하시고
[37] 베드로와 세베대의 두 아들을 데리고 가실새 고민하고 슬퍼하사
[38] 이에 말씀하시되 내 마음이 매우 고민하여 죽게 되었으니 너희는 여기 머물러 나와 함께 깨어 있으라 하시고
[39] 조금 나아가사 얼굴을 땅에 대시고 엎드려 기도하여 이르시되 내 아버지여 만일 할 만하시거든 이 잔을 내게서 지나가게 하옵소서 그러나 나의 원대로 마시옵고 아버지의 원대로 하옵소서 하시고
[40] 제자들에게 오사 그 자는 것을 보시고 베드로에게 말씀하시되 너희가 나와 함께 한 시간도 이렇게 깨어 있을 수 없더냐
[41] 시험에 들지 않게 깨어 기도하라 마음에는 원이로되 육신이 약하도다 하시고
[42] 다시 두 번째 나아가 기도하여 이르시되 내 아버지여 만일 내가 마시지 않고는 이 잔이 내게서 지나갈 수 없거든 아버지의 원대로 되기를 원하나이다 하시고
[43] 다시 오사 보신즉 그들이 자니 이는 그들의 눈이 피곤함일러라
[44] 또 그들을 두시고 나아가 세 번째 같은 말씀으로 기도하신 후
[45] 이에 제자들에게 오사 이르시되 이제는 자고 쉬라 보라 때가 가까이 왔으니 인자가 죄인의 손에 팔리느니라
[46] 일어나라 함께 가자 보라 나를 파는 자가 가까이 왔느니라
