Pray First		우선 기도하자
[ 1 Samuel 23:1 - 23:5 ] - hymn 365 David inquired of the Lord. — 1 Samuel 23:2 When my husband and I supervise our son¡¯s piano practice sessions, we begin by asking God to help us. We pray first because neither my husband nor I know how to play the instrument. Together, all three of us are coming to understand musical mysteries such as the meaning of ¡°staccato¡± and ¡°legato¡± and when to use the piano¡¯s black keys. Prayer becomes a priority when we realize that we need God¡¯s help. David needed God¡¯s assistance in a dangerous situation as he considered fighting the Philistines in the city of Keilah. Before engaging in battle,¡°David inquired of the Lord, saying, ¡®Shall I go and attack these Philistines?¡¯¡±(1 Sam.23:2). God gave His approval. However, David¡¯s men admitted that the enemy forces intimidated them. Before a single sword was lifted against the Philistines, David prayed again. God promised him the victory he later claimed (v.4). Does prayer guide our lives, or is it our last resort when trouble strikes? We sometimes fall into the habit of making plans and then asking God to bless them, or praying only in moments of desperation. God does want us to turn to Him in moments of need. But He also wants us to remember that we need Him all the time (Prov.3:5-6). — Jennifer Benson Schuldt		[ 사무엘상 23:1 - 23:5 ] - 찬송가 365 장 다윗이 여호와께 묻자와 — 사무엘상 23:2 남편과 함께 아들의 피아노 연습을 지도할 때, 우리는 시작하기 전에 먼저 하나님께 도움을 구합니다. 남편이나 나는 피아노를 연주할 줄 모르기 때문에 우리는 우선 기도부터 합니다. 이제 우리 셋은 다 같이 ‘스타카토’와 ‘레가토’의 뜻이나 언제 검은색 피아노 건반을 쳐야하는지 등, 음악의 어려운 부분들을 점차 이해해가고 있습니다. 우리가 하나님의 도움이 필요하다고 느낄 때 가장 먼저 해야 할 일은 기도입니다. 다윗이 그일라에서 블레셋과의 전쟁을 고려해야 하는 위험한 상황에 처했을 때 하나님의 도움이 절실히 필요했습니다. 전쟁을 하기 전 다윗은 하나님께 “내가 가서 이 블레셋 사람들을 치리이까”(삼상 23:2)라고 물었고, 하나님은 그렇게 하라고 하셨습니다. 그러나 다윗의 군대는 적군의 위협에 두려움을 느꼈습니다. 그래서 다윗은 블레셋과 싸우기 전에 다시 기도했습니다. 하나님은 다윗에게 승리를 약속하셨고 다윗은 결국 승리했습니다(4절). 기도가 우리의 삶을 인도해줄까요? 아니면 곤란이 닥쳤을 때 우리가 하는 마지막 수단일까요? 때때로 우리는 계획을 먼저 세우고 나서 하나님께 축복을 구하거나, 절박한 순간에만 기도하는 습관에 빠집니다. 하나님은 우리가 어려울 때 하나님께 간구하기를 원하시지만, 또한 우리가 항상 하나님을 필요로 한다는 것을 기억하기를 원하십니다(잠 3:5-6).

Dear God, please guide me as I walk through this life. Help me not to act only by my own wisdom, but to seek Your will in every situation.

1 Samuel 23:1-5

[1] Then they told David, saying, "Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah, and they are robbing the threshing floors."
[2] Therefore David inquired of the LORD, saying, "Shall I go and attack these Philistines?" And the LORD said to David, "Go and attack the Philistines, and save Keilah."
[3] But David's men said to him, "Look, we are afraid here in Judah. How much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?"
[4] Then David inquired of the LORD once again. And the LORD answered him and said, "Arise, go down to Keilah. For I will deliver the Philistines into your hand."
[5] And David and his men went to Keilah and fought with the Philistines, struck them with a mighty blow, and took away their livestock. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.

사랑하는 하나님,
제가 이 인생을 살아갈 때 저를 인도해주소서.
저의 지혜에만 매달려 행동하지 말게 하시고,
모든 상황에서 주님의 뜻이 무엇인지 먼저 구하게 하소서.

하나님은 우리가 무슨 일이든 행하기 전에
먼저 기도하기를 원하신다.

[1] 사람들이 다윗에게 전하여 이르되 보소서 블레셋 사람이 그일라를 쳐서 그 타작 마당을 탈취하더이다 하니
[2] 이에 다윗이 여호와께 묻자와 이르되 내가 가서 이 블레셋 사람들을 치리이까 여호와께서 다윗에게 이르시되 가서 블레셋 사람들을 치고 그일라를 구원하라 하시니
[3] 다윗의 사람들이 그에게 이르되 보소서 우리가 유다에 있기도 두렵거든 하물며 그일라에 가서 블레셋 사람들의 군대를 치는 일이리이까 한지라
[4] 다윗이 여호와께 다시 묻자온대 여호와께서 대답하여 이르시되 일어나 그일라로 내려가라 내가 블레셋 사람들을 네 손에 넘기리라 하신지라
[5] 다윗과 그의 사람들이 그일라로 가서 블레셋 사람들과 싸워 그들을 크게 쳐서 죽이고 그들의 가축을 끌어 오니라 다윗이 이와 같이 그일라 주민을 구원하니라
