[ Ezekiel 29:1 - 29:9 ] - hymn 31 I am the Lord; that is My name. — Isaiah 42:8 The Nile of Africa, which spans 6,650 kilometers (more than 4,100 miles) and flows northward across several northeastern African countries, is the world¡¯s longest river. Over the centuries, the Nile has provided sustenance and livelihood for millions of citizens in the countries it passes through. Currently, Ethiopia is building what will become Africa¡¯s largest hydro-power dam on the Nile. It will be a great resource for the area. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, claimed to be the Nile¡¯s owner and originator. He and all Egypt boasted, ¡°My River is my own; I have made it for myself¡± (Ezek. 29:3,9). They failed to acknowledge that God alone provides natural resources. As a result, God promised to punish the nation (vv.8-9). We are to care for God¡¯s creation, and not forget that everything we have comes from the Lord. Romans 11:36 says, ¡°For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever.¡± He is the One who also endows humanity with the ability to manufacture and invent man-made resources. Whenever we talk about a good thing that has come to us or that we have accomplished, we need to remember what God says in Isaiah 42:8, ¡°I am the Lord; that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another.¡± — Lawrence Darmani		[ 에스겔 29:1 - 29:9 ] - 찬송가 31 장 나는 여호와이니 이는 내 이름이라 — 이사야 42:8 길이가 6,650킬로미터나 되는 세계에서 가장 긴 강, 아프리카의 나일강은 아프리카 북동부에 있는 여러 나라를 가로지르면서 북쪽으로 흐르고 있습니다. 오랜 세월 동안 나일강은 그 강이 지나가는 나라들의 수많은 사람들에게 젖줄이자 생활의 터전이었습니다. 현재 에티오피아는 나일강에 아프리카에서 가장 큰 수력발전소 댐을 건설하고 있습니다. 이는 그 지역에 중요한 자원이 될 것입니다. 애굽왕 바로는 자신이 나일강의 주인이며 창시자라고 주장했습니다. 바로와 온 이집트인들은 “이 강은 내 것이라 내가 나를 위하여 만들었다”(겔 29:3,9)라고 자랑했습니다. 그들은 오직 하나님만이 천연자원을 제공하신다는 사실을 인정하지 않았습니다. 그 결과 하나님은 그 나라를 벌하시겠다고 약속하셨습니다(8-9절). 우리는 하나님의 창조물을 돌볼 의무가 있으며, 또 우리가 가진 모든 것은 주님으로부터 왔다는 것을 잊지 말아야 합니다. 로마서 11장 36절에도 “이는 만물이 주에게서 나오고 주로 말미암고 주에게로 돌아감이라 그에게 영광이 세세에 있을지어다”라고 했습니다. 그러나 하나님은 인류에게 인공의 자원을 발명하고 제조할 수 있는 능력을 주시는 분이기도 합니다. 우리에게 일어난 좋은 일이나 우리가 성취한 좋은 것에 관해 이야기할 때마다 우리는 이사야 42장 8절에서 하나님이 말씀하신 것을 기억해야 합니다. “나는 여호와이니 이는 내 이름이라 나는 내 영광을 다른 자에게…주지 아니하리라”.

Praise the Lord God, the God of Israel, who alone does such wonderful things. Praise Your glorious name forever! Let the whole earth be filled with Your glory.

To God be the glory—great things He has done!

Ezekiel 29:1-9

[1] In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth day of the month, the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
[2] "Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt.
[3] "Speak, and say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, I am against you, O Pharaoh king of Egypt, O great monster who lies in the midst of his rivers, Who has said, 'My River is my own; I have made it for myself.'
[4] But I will put hooks in your jaws, And cause the fish of your rivers to stick to your scales; I will bring you up out of the midst of your rivers, And all the fish in your rivers will stick to your scales.
[5] I will leave you in the wilderness, You and all the fish of your rivers; You shall fall on the open field; You shall not be picked up or gathered. I have given you as food To the beasts of the field And to the birds of the heavens.
[6] "Then all the inhabitants of Egypt Shall know that I am the LORD, Because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.
[7] When they took hold of you with the hand, You broke and tore all their shoulders; When they leaned on you, You broke and made all their backs quiver."
[8] 'Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: "Surely I will bring a sword upon you and cut off from you man and beast.
[9] "And the land of Egypt shall become desolate and waste; then they will know that I am the LORD, because he said, 'The River is mine, and I have made it.'

주 하나님을 찬양하라. 이스라엘의 하나님,
곧 홀로 위대한 일을 행하시는 주님.
영광스러운 그 이름을 영원히 찬양하라!
온 땅에 주의 영광으로 가득 차게 하라.

에스겔 29:1-9

[1] 열째 해 열째 달 열두째 날에 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 이르시되
[2] 인자야 너는 애굽의 바로 왕과 온 애굽으로 얼굴을 향하고 예언하라
[3] 너는 말하여 이르기를 주 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 애굽의 바로 왕이여 내가 너를 대적하노라 너는 자기의 강들 가운데에 누운 큰 악어라 스스로 이르기를 나의 이 강은 내 것이라 내가 나를 위하여 만들었다 하는도다
[4] 내가 갈고리로 네 아가미를 꿰고 너의 강의 고기가 네 비늘에 붙게 하고 네 비늘에 붙은 강의 모든 고기와 함께 너를 너의 강들 가운데에서 끌어내고
[5] 너와 너의 강의 모든 고기를 들에 던지리니 네가 지면에 떨어지고 다시는 거두거나 모으지 못할 것은 내가 너를 들짐승과 공중의 새의 먹이로 주었음이라
[6] 애굽의 모든 주민이 내가 여호와인 줄을 알리라 애굽은 본래 이스라엘 족속에게 갈대 지팡이라
[7] 그들이 너를 손으로 잡은즉 네가 부러져서 그들의 모든 어깨를 찢었고 그들이 너를 의지한즉 네가 부러져서 그들의 모든 허리가 흔들리게 하였느니라
[8] 그러므로 주 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하셨느니라 내가 칼이 네게 임하게 하여 네게서 사람과 짐승을 끊은즉
[9] 애굽 땅이 사막과 황무지가 되리니 내가 여호와인 줄을 그들이 알리라 네가 스스로 이르기를 이 강은 내 것이라 내가 만들었다 하도다
