[ 1 Thessalonians 2:6 - 2:14 ] - hymn 221 You had become dear to us. — 1 Thessalonians 2:8 During the 1980s, a singles¡¯class at our church became a close-knit family for many people who had lost a spouse through divorce or death. When someone needed to move, class members packed boxes, carried furniture, and provided food. Birthdays and holidays were no longer solitary events as faith and friendship merged into an ongoing relationship of encouragement. Many of those bonds forged during adversity three decades ago continue to flourish and sustain individuals and families today. Paul¡¯s letter to the followers of Jesus in Thessalonica paints a picture of life-giving relationships in God¡¯s family. ¡°We were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children¡±(1Thess. 2:7). ¡°For you remember, [brothers and sisters], our labor and toil ... that we might not be a burden to any of you¡±(v.9). ¡°We exhorted, and comforted, and charged every one of you, as a father does his own children¡±(v.11). Like mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters, Paul and his associates shared the gospel and their lives with these fellow believers who ¡°had become dear¡±to them (v.8). In God¡¯s family of faith, He provides mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers for us. The Lord gives His joy as we share our lives together in His grace and love. — David McCasland		[ 데살로니가전서 2:6 - 2:14 ] - 찬송가 221 장 너희가 우리의 사랑하는 자 됨이라 — 데살로니가전서 2:8 1980년대에 우리 교회의 한 독신 모임이 단단히 결속된 가족처럼 되어서 이혼이나 사별로 배우자를 잃은 서로를 많이 도와주었습니다. 어떤 사람이 이사하게 되면 그 모임의 사람들은 상자들을 포장하고 가구를 옮기며 음식을 제공해 주었습니다. 믿음과 우정이 합쳐져 서로를 격려하는 지속적인 관계로 발전함에 따라 생일과 휴일은 이제 더 이상 혼자만의 행사가 아니게 되었습니다. 30년 전 역경 속에서 맺어진 이 많은 유대관계들이 지속되어 지금까지 개인들이나 가족들을 번성케 하고 유지시켜주고 있습니다. 데살로니가에 있는 예수님을 따르는 사람들에게 보낸 바울의 서신에는 하나님의 가족 안에서의 생명력이 충만한 관계가 잘 묘사되어 있습니다. “도리어 너희 가운데서 유순한 자가 되어 유모가 자기 자녀를 기름과 같이 하였으니”(살전 2:7). “형제들아 우리의 수고와 애쓴 것을 너희가 기억하리니 너희 아무에게도 폐를 끼치지 아니하려고”(9절). “우리가 너희 각 사람에게 아버지가 자기 자녀에게 하듯 권면하고 위로하고 경계하노니”(11절). 어머니나 아버지, 형제나 자매들처럼 바울과 그의 동료들은 그들에게 “사랑하는 자 된”믿음의 동역자들과 복음과 함께 그들의 삶도 함께 나누었습니다(8절). 하나님의 믿음의 가족 안에서, 하나님은 우리에게 어머니와 아버지, 형제와 자매들을 보내주십니다. 주님은 그분의 은혜와 사랑 안에서 우리가 삶을 함께 나눌 때 주님의 기쁨을 맛보게 해주십니다.

Father, You¡¯ve called us to serve one another.
Give me a heart willing to accept the care of others.
May I ask for help when I am in need and
respond with a heart of grace to others when they ask me for help.

God loves you and me; let¡¯s love one another.

1 Thessalonians 2:6-14

[6] Nor did we seek glory from men, either from you or from others, when we might have made demands as apostles of Christ.
[7] But we were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children.
[8] So, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.
[9] For you remember, brethren, our labor and toil; for laboring night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.
[10] You are witnesses, and God also, how devoutly and justly and blamelessly we behaved ourselves among you who believe;
[11] as you know how we exhorted, and comforted, and charged every one of you, as a father does his own children,
[12] that you would walk worthy of God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.
[13] For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.
[14] For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus. For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the Judeans,

하나님 아버지, 하나님은 서로를 섬기라고 우리를 부르셨습니다. 다른
사람들이 돌보아주는 것을 기꺼이 받아들이려는 마음을 제게 주소서.
그리고 제가 어려울 때 도움을 청할 수 있게 하시고, 다른 사람들이
저에게 도움을 청할 때 그들에게 은혜의 마음으로 반응하게

하나님이 당신과 나를 사랑하시니, 서로 사랑하자.

데살로니가전서 2:6-14

[6] 또한 우리는 너희에게서든지 다른 이에게서든지 사람에게서는 영광을 구하지 아니하였노라
[7] 우리는 그리스도의 사도로서 마땅히 권위를 주장할 수 있으나 도리어 너희 가운데서 유순한 자가 되어 유모가 자기 자녀를 기름과 같이 하였으니
[8] 우리가 이같이 너희를 사모하여 하나님의 복음뿐 아니라 우리의 목숨까지도 너희에게 주기를 기뻐함은 너희가 우리의 사랑하는 자 됨이라
[9] 형제들아 우리의 수고와 애쓴 것을 너희가 기억하리니 너희 아무에게도 폐를 끼치지 아니하려고 밤낮으로 일하면서 너희에게 하나님의 복음을 전하였노라
[10] 우리가 너희 믿는 자들을 향하여 어떻게 거룩하고 옳고 흠 없이 행하였는지에 대하여 너희가 증인이요 하나님도 그러하시도다
[11] 너희도 아는 바와 같이 우리가 너희 각 사람에게 아버지가 자기 자녀에게 하듯 권면하고 위로하고 경계하노니
[12] 이는 너희를 부르사 자기 나라와 영광에 이르게 하시는 하나님께 합당히 행하게 하려 함이라
[13] 이러므로 우리가 하나님께 끊임없이 감사함은 너희가 우리에게 들은 바 하나님의 말씀을 받을 때에 사람의 말로 받지 아니하고 하나님의 말씀으로 받음이니 진실로 그러하도다 이 말씀이 또한 너희 믿는 자 가운데에서 역사하느니라
[14] 형제들아 너희가 그리스도 예수 안에서 유대에 있는 하나님의 교회들을 본받은 자 되었으니 그들이 유대인들에게 고난을 받음과 같이 너희도 너희 동족에게서 동일한 고난을 받았느니라
