Cat Gate		고양이 문
[ John 10:1 - 10:10 ] - hymn 382 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. — John 10:9 My husband, Jay, and I have a new family member—a 2-month-old tabby cat named Jasper. To keep our new kitten safe, we¡¯ve had to break some old habits, like leaving doors open. But one thing remains a challenge: the open stairway. Cats like to climb. Even as kittens, they know that the world looks better when you¡¯re looking down on it. So whenever I have Jasper downstairs with me, she is determined to go upstairs. Trying to keep her confined to a safe place near me has tested my ingenuity. Gates that work with children and dogs do not work with cats. My cat gate dilemma brings to mind the metaphor Jesus used to describe Himself: ¡°I am the gate for the sheep,¡± He said (John 10:7 niv). Middle Eastern sheepfolds were enclosures with an opening for the sheep to go in and out. At night, when the sheep were safely inside, the shepherd would lie in the opening so that neither sheep nor predators could get past him. Although I want to keep Jasper safe, I am not willing to make myself the gate. I have other things to do. But that¡¯s what Jesus Christ does for us. He places Himself between us and our enemy, the devil, to protect us from spiritual harm.		[ 요한복음 10:1 - 10:10 ] - 찬송가 382 장 내가 문이니 누구든지 나로 말미암아 들어가면 구원을 받고 또는 들어가며 나오며 꼴을 얻으리라 — 요한복음 10:9 남편 제이와 나는 재스퍼라는 이름의 생후 두 달 된 얼룩무늬 고양이를 새 가족으로 맞아들였습니다. 우리는 새 고양이의 안전을 위해 문을 열어 놓는다든지 하는 우리의 평소 습관들을 버려야했습니다. 그런데 한 가지 문제가 남아 있습니다. 그것은 훤히 트여있는 계단입니다. 고양이들은 기어오르는 것을 좋아합니다. 새끼 고양이라 하더라도, 세상은 위에서 내려다볼 때 훨씬 더 좋아 보인다는 것을 압니다. 그래서 내가 재스퍼와 함께 아래층에 있을 때마다, 재스퍼는 결사적으로 위층으로 올라가려 합니다. 나는 내 곁에 고양이를 안전하게 붙잡아두기 위해 새로운 방법을 강구해야 했습니다. 아이나 강아지한테는 칸막이 문이 효과가 있지만 고양이에게는 소용이 없습니다. 이 골치 아픈 고양이 문은 예수님이 자신을 “나는 양의 문이라”(요 10:7)고 묘사하신 비유를 생각나게 합니다. 중동지역의 양 우리는 그 울타리에 양들이 들어오고 나가는 문이 있었습니다. 밤에 양들이 안전하게 울타리 안으로 들어오면, 목자는 그 양 우리의 문 앞에 드러누워 양들이나 사나운 짐승이 지나가지 못하게 막았습니다. 재스퍼를 안전하게 지키고는 싶지만 내가 그 문이 되고 싶은 마음은 없습니다. 나는 다른 할 일들이 있으니까요. 그러나 예수 그리스도는 우리를 위해 그 문이 되어주셨습니다. 주님은 우리와 우리의 대적인 사탄 사이에 계셔서 우리를 영적인 위험으로부터 지켜주십니다.

Thank You, Jesus, for being my gate. Through You I have salvation and by Your power I am safe from spiritual harm. Surround me with Your protection. I trust in You.

The closer to the Shepherd, the farther from the wolf.

John 10:1-10

[1] "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
[2] "But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
[3] "To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
[4] "And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
[5] "Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers."
[6] Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them.
[7] Then Jesus said to them again, "Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
[8] "All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.
[9] "I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
[10] "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

예수님, 저의 문이 되어주셔서 감사합니다.
주님으로 인해 제가 구원을 받았고
주님의 능력으로 말미암아 영적인 위험으로부터 안전합니다.
주님의 보호막으로 저를 둘러주소서. 주님을 신뢰합니다.

목자에게 더 가까이 갈수록 늑대로부터 더 멀어진다.

요한복음 10:1-10

[1] 내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 문을 통하여 양의 우리에 들어가지 아니하고 다른 데로 넘어가는 자는 절도며 강도요
[2] 문으로 들어가는 이는 양의 목자라
[3] 문지기는 그를 위하여 문을 열고 양은 그의 음성을 듣나니 그가 자기 양의 이름을 각각 불러 인도하여 내느니라
[4] 자기 양을 다 내놓은 후에 앞서 가면 양들이 그의 음성을 아는 고로 따라오되
[5] 타인의 음성은 알지 못하는 고로 타인을 따르지 아니하고 도리어 도망하느니라
[6] 예수께서 이 비유로 그들에게 말씀하셨으나 그들은 그가 하신 말씀이 무엇인지 알지 못하니라
[7] 그러므로 예수께서 다시 이르시되 내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 말하노니 나는 양의 문이라
[8] 나보다 먼저 온 자는 다 절도요 강도니 양들이 듣지 아니하였느니라
[9] 내가 문이니 누구든지 나로 말미암아 들어가면 구원을 받고 또는 들어가며 나오며 꼴을 얻으리라
[10] 도둑이 오는 것은 도둑질하고 죽이고 멸망시키려는 것뿐이요 내가 온 것은 양으로 생명을 얻게 하고 더 풍성히 얻게 하려는 것이라
