Pointing To God		하나님께로 향하기
[ Deuteronomy 8:11 - 8:18 ] - hymn 338 Remember now your Creator ... before the difficult days come. — Ecclesiastes 12:1 ¡°God bless our homeland, Ghana¡± is the first line of Ghana¡¯s national anthem. Other African anthems include: ¡°O Uganda, may God uphold thee,¡± ¡°Lord, bless our nation¡±(South Africa), and ¡°O God of creation, direct our noble cause¡±(Nigeria). Using the anthems as prayers, founding fathers called on God to bless their land and its people. Many national anthems in Africa and others from around the world point to God as Creator and Provider. Other lines of anthems call for reconciliation, transformation, and hope for a people often divided along ethnic, political, and social lines. Yet today, many national leaders and citizens tend to forget God and do not live by these statements—especially when life is going well. But why wait until war, disease, storms, terrorist attacks, or election violence occurs before we remember to seek God? Moses warned the ancient Israelites not to forget God and not to stop following His ways when life was good (Deut.8:11). Ecclesiastes 12:1 urges us to ¡°remember now your Creator ... before the difficult days come.¡± Getting close to God while we are strong and healthy prepares us to lean on Him for support and hope when those ¡°difficult days¡± in life come. — Lawrence Darmani		[ 신명기 8:11 - 8:18 ] - 찬송가 338 장 너는…너의 창조자를 기억하라 곧 곤고한 날이 이르기 전에 — 전도서 12:1 가나의 국가는 “하나님, 우리 조국 가나를 축복하소서”라는 소절로 시작합니다. 몇몇 다른 아프리카 나라들의 국가에도 다음과 같은 소절들이 들어있습니다. “오 우간다여, 하나님께서 그대를 지켜주시기를”, “주여 우리나라를 축복하소서”(남아프리카공화국), “오 창조의 하나님, 우리에게 위대한 뜻을 품게 하소서”(나이지리아). 각 나라의 설립자들은 기도를 그들의 국가에 담아 하나님이 그들의 나라와 국민들을 축복해 주시기를 간구했습니다. 아프리카를 비롯한 세계 많은 나라들의 국가에서는 하나님을 창조주요 공급자로 지칭하고 있습니다. 그 외에도 화해와 변화, 그리고 인종, 정치, 사회적으로 자주 분열된 사람들을 위한 희망이 여러 국가의 가사에 담겨져 있습니다. 그러나 오늘날 여러 국가지도자들과 국민들은 하나님을 잊고 그 구절대로 살고 있지 않습니다. 특히 일이 잘 풀릴 때면 더 그렇습니다. 전쟁, 질병, 폭풍, 테러, 혹은 선거폭력이 발생하기 이전에는 왜 하나님을 찾으려 하지 않을까요? 모세는 고대 이스라엘 백성들에게, 형통할 때에 하나님을 잊지 말고 하나님의 길을 따르기를 멈추지 말라고 경고했습니다(신 8:11). 전도서 12장 1절 말씀도 “너는…너의 창조자를 기억하라 곧 곤고한 날이 이르기 전에”라고 우리에게 강조합니다. 우리가 아직 강하고 건강할 때 하나님을 가까이 하는 것은 삶에서 “어려운 날”이 닥칠 때 도움과 소망 되시는 하나님을 의지할 수 있도록 우리를 준비시켜 줍니다.

Father, I always need You. Forgive me for
thinking I am sufficient in myself. Help me to
follow You and Your ways whether life is easy
or difficult. Thank You for caring for me.

Remembering our Creator can be our personal anthem.

Deuteronomy 8:11-18

[11] "Beware that you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today,
[12] "lest--when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them;
[13] "and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied;
[14] "when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;
[15] "who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there was no water; who brought water for you out of the flinty rock;
[16] "who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do you good in the end--
[17] "then you say in your heart, 'My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.'
[18] "And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

하나님 아버지, 저는 주님이 항상 필요합니다.
제 자신 스스로 충분하다고 생각한 것을 용서해주시고,
삶이 순탄하든지 어렵든지 항상 주님을 따르고 주님의 길을
갈 수 있도록 도와주소서. 저를 돌보아주셔서 감사합니다.

우리의 창조주를 기억하는 것이 우리 각 개인의 송가가 될 수 있다.

신명기 8:11-18

[11] 내가 오늘 네게 명하는 여호와의 명령과 법도와 규례를 지키지 아니하고 네 하나님 여호와를 잊어버리지 않도록 삼갈지어다
[12] 네가 먹어서 배부르고 아름다운 집을 짓고 거주하게 되며
[13] 또 네 소와 양이 번성하며 네 은금이 증식되며 네 소유가 다 풍부하게 될 때에
[14] 네 마음이 교만하여 네 하나님 여호와를 잊어버릴까 염려하노라 여호와는 너를 애굽 땅 종 되었던 집에서 이끌어 내시고
[15] 너를 인도하여 그 광대하고 위험한 광야 곧 불뱀과 전갈이 있고 물이 없는 간조한 땅을 지나게 하셨으며 또 너를 위하여 단단한 반석에서 물을 내셨으며
[16] 네 조상들도 알지 못하던 만나를 광야에서 네게 먹이셨나니 이는 다 너를 낮추시며 너를 시험하사 마침내 네게 복을 주려 하심이었느니라
[17] 그러나 네가 마음에 이르기를 내 능력과 내 손의 힘으로 내가 이 재물을 얻었다 말할 것이라
[18] 네 하나님 여호와를 기억하라 그가 네게 재물 얻을 능력을 주셨음이라 이같이 하심은 네 조상들에게 맹세하신 언약을 오늘과 같이 이루려 하심이니라
