Mistakes Made Beautiful		실수를 아름다움으로
[ Luke 22:39 - 22:51 ] - hymn 276 [Jesus] touched his ear and healed him. — Luke 22:51 Early in his career, jazz player Herbie Hancock was invited to play in the quintet of Miles Davis, already a musical legend. In an interview, Hancock admitted being nervous but described it as a wonderful experience because Davis was so nurturing. During one performance, when Davis was near the high point of his solo, Hancock played the wrong chord. He was mortified, but Davis continued as if nothing had happened. ¡°He played some notes that made my chord right,¡± Hancock said. What an example of loving leadership! Davis didn¡¯t scold Hancock or make him look foolish. He didn¡¯t blame him for ruining the performance. He simply adjusted his plan and turned a potentially disastrous mistake into something beautiful. What Davis did for Hancock, Jesus did for Peter. When Peter cut off the ear of one of the crowd who had come to arrest Jesus, Jesus reattached the ear (Luke 22:51), indicating that His kingdom was about healing, not hurting. Time after time Jesus used the disciples¡¯ mistakes to show a better way. What Jesus did for His disciples, He also does for us. And what He does for us, we can do for others. Instead of magnifying every mistake, we can turn them into beautiful acts of forgiveness, healing, and redemption. — Julie Ackerman Link		[ 누가복음 22:39 - 22:51 ] - 찬송가 276 장 [예수께서] 그 귀를 만져 낫게 하시더라 — 누가복음 22:51 재즈연주자 허비 핸콕은 그의 연주경력 초기에, 당시 이미 음악계에서 전설적인 인물이었던 마일즈 데이비스 5중주단의 연주자로 초청받았습니다. 한 인터뷰에서 핸콕은 무척 긴장되었다고 시인하면서도 데이비스의 배려로 인해 그 연주가 아주 멋진 경험이었다고 말했습니다. 공연 도중 데이비스의 솔로가 절정으로 치닫고 있을 때 핸콕이 틀린 코드를 연주하고 말았습니다. 그는 매우 당황했지만, 데이비스는 아무 일도 없었던 것처럼 계속 연주했습니다. “그는 내 코드가 맞게끔 들리도록 몇 음표들을 연주해주었습니다.”라고 핸콕은 말했습니다. 이것이 바로 사랑의 리더십의 표본이 아닐까요! 데이비스는 핸콕을 나무라거나 웃음거리로 만들지 않았으며, 공연을 망쳤다고 그를 비난하지도 않았습니다. 데이비스는 단지 그의 계획을 조정해서 치명적인 실수가 될 뻔한 것을 아름다운 것으로 바꾸어놓았습니다. 데이비스가 핸콕을 위해 한 일을 예수님이 베드로를 위해 하셨습니다. 베드로가 예수님을 잡으려고 왔던 무리 중의 한 사람의 귀를 베었을 때 예수님은 그 귀를 도로 붙여주심으로(눅 22:51), 하나님의 나라는 상하게 하는 것이 아니라 치유하는 것임을 보여주셨습니다. 예수님은 번번이 제자들의 실수를 이용해서 더 나은 길을 보여주셨습니다. 예수님은 제자들을 위해 하신 일들을 우리를 위해서도 하십니다. 그리고 주님이 우리를 위해 하시는 일들을 우리도 다른 사람들을 위해 할 수 있습니다. 우리는 모든 실수를 확대시키는 대신, 그것들을 용서와 치유, 그리고 구원의 아름다운 행위로 바꿀 수 있습니다.

Lord, You understand how prone we are to make
selfish and foolish mistakes. Forgive us and
restore us. Please, for Your name¡¯s sake, use even
the worst aspects of our lives for Your glory.

Jesus longs to turn our mistakes into amazing examples of His grace.

Luke 22:39-51

[39] Coming out, He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him.
[40] When He came to the place, He said to them, "Pray that you may not enter into temptation."
[41] And He was withdrawn from them about a stone's throw, and He knelt down and prayed,
[42] saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done."
[43] Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.
[44] And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
[45] When He rose up from prayer, and had come to His disciples, He found them sleeping from sorrow.
[46] Then He said to them, "Why do you sleep? Rise and pray, lest you enter into temptation."
[47] And while He was still speaking, behold, a multitude; and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him.
[48] But Jesus said to him, "Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?"
[49] When those around Him saw what was going to happen, they said to Him, "Lord, shall we strike with the sword?"
[50] And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear.
[51] But Jesus answered and said, "Permit even this." And He touched his ear and healed him.

주님, 우리가 얼마나 이기적이고 어리석은 실수를 잘 저지르는지
주님은 아십니다. 우리를 용서하시고 회복시켜주소서.
부디 주님의 이름을 위해, 우리 삶의 가장 나쁜 부분까지도
주님의 영광을 위해 사용해주소서.

예수님은 우리의 실수가 주님의 은혜의 놀라운 본보기가 되도록
변화시키기를 열망하신다.

누가복음 22:39-51

[39] 예수께서 나가사 습관을 따라 감람 산에 가시매 제자들도 따라갔더니
[40] 그 곳에 이르러 그들에게 이르시되 유혹에 빠지지 않게 기도하라 하시고
[41] 그들을 떠나 돌 던질 만큼 가서 무릎을 꿇고 기도하여
[42] 이르시되 아버지여 만일 아버지의 뜻이거든 이 잔을 내게서 옮기시옵소서 그러나 내 원대로 마시옵고 아버지의 원대로 되기를 원하나이다 하시니
[43] 천사가 하늘로부터 예수께 나타나 힘을 더하더라
[44] 예수께서 힘쓰고 애써 더욱 간절히 기도하시니 땀이 땅에 떨어지는 핏방울 같이 되더라
[45] 기도 후에 일어나 제자들에게 가서 슬픔으로 인하여 잠든 것을 보시고
[46] 이르시되 어찌하여 자느냐 시험에 들지 않게 일어나 기도하라 하시니라
[47] 말씀하실 때에 한 무리가 오는데 열둘 중의 하나인 유다라 하는 자가 그들을 앞장서 와서
[48] 예수께 입을 맞추려고 가까이 하는지라 예수께서 이르시되 유다야 네가 입맞춤으로 인자를 파느냐 하시니
[49] 그의 주위 사람들이 그 된 일을 보고 여짜오되 주여 우리가 칼로 치리이까 하고
[50] 그 중의 한 사람이 대제사장의 종을 쳐 그 오른쪽 귀를 떨어뜨린지라
[51] 예수께서 일러 이르시되 이것까지 참으라 하시고 그 귀를 만져 낫게 하시더라
