A Ukrainian Christmas		우크라이나의 성탄절
[ Luke 2:6 - 2:14 ] - hymn 126 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men! — Luke 2:14 The people of Ukraine include many wonderful elements in their observance of Christmas. Sometimes wisps of hay are placed on the dinner table as a reminder of the Bethlehem manger. Another portion of their celebration echoes the events of the night when the Savior entered the world. A Christmas prayer is offered and then the father in the household offers the greeting, ¡°Christ is born!¡±The family then responds, ¡°Let us glorify Him!¡± These words draw my mind to the appearance of the angels in the sky over Bethlehem on the night Christ was born. The angel of the Lord declared, ¡°For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord¡±(Luke 2:11). The heavenly host responded, ¡°Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!¡±(v.14). Those twin messages give such depth of meaning to this wonderful time of year. The Savior has come bringing forgiveness and hope¦¡and He is deserving of all the worship we can give Him. May all who know the wonder of His gift of eternal life join with the voices of that angelic host declaring, ¡°Glory to God in the highest!¡±— Bill Crowder		[ 누가복음 2:6 - 2:14 ] - 찬송가 126 장 지극히 높은 곳에서는 하나님께 영광이요 땅에서는 하나님이 기뻐하신 사람들 중에 평화로다 — 누가복음 2:14 우크라이나 사람들은 경탄한 만한 일을 많이 행하면서 성탄절을 지킵니다. 때로는 베들레헴의 말구유를 기억하기 위해 건초 몇 다발을 식탁 위에 올려놓기도 합니다. 구주께서 이 세상에 오셨던 그날 밤의 일을 되풀이해 보여주는 또 다른 축하장면이 있습니다. 성탄절 기도가 끝나고 그 가정의 아버지가 “예수님이 탄생하셨다!”라고 인사말을 하면, 나머지 가족들은 “주님께 영광을 돌립시다!”라고 화답합니다. 이 말들은 그리스도께서 탄생하신 밤에 베들레헴의 하늘에 나타났던 천사들을 생각나게 해줍니다. 주의 사자가 “오늘 다윗의 동네에 너희를 위하여 구주가 나셨으니 곧 그리스도 주시니라”(눅 2:11)라고 선포하자, 천국의 큰 무리가 다음과 같이 화답합니다. “지극히 높은 곳에서는 하나님께 영광이요 땅에서는 하나님이 기뻐하신 사람들 중에 평화로다”(14절). 이 한 쌍의 메시지는 일 년 중 지금 같은 특별한 때에 아주 깊은 의미를 부여합니다. 구주께서는 용서와 소망을 가져오셨으며, 주님은 우리가 드릴 수 있는 모든 경배를 받으시기에 합당하신 분이십니다. 주님이 주시는 영생의 선물에 대한 경이로움을 아는 사람이라면 모두 다 천사들이 외치던 “지극히 높은 곳에서는 하나님께 영광이요”라는 찬송을 부를 수 있기를 소망합니다.

The spectacular glory of God¡¯s love for us was
revealed in the coming of Jesus.

Luke 2:6-14

[6] So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered.
[7] And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
[8] Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.
[9] And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.
[10] Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.
[11] "For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
[12] "And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger."
[13] And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
[14] "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"

우리를 향한 하나님의 사랑의 그 놀라운 영광은
예수님의 오심으로 그 모습을 드러냈다.

누가복음 2:6-14

[6] 거기 있을 그 때에 해산할 날이 차서
[7] 첫아들을 낳아 강보로 싸서 구유에 뉘었으니 이는 여관에 있을 곳이 없음이러라
[8] 그 지역에 목자들이 밤에 밖에서 자기 양 떼를 지키더니
[9] 주의 사자가 곁에 서고 주의 영광이 그들을 두루 비추매 크게 무서워하는지라
[10] 천사가 이르되 무서워하지 말라 보라 내가 온 백성에게 미칠 큰 기쁨의 좋은 소식을 너희에게 전하노라
[11] 오늘 다윗의 동네에 너희를 위하여 구주가 나셨으니 곧 그리스도 주시니라
[12] 너희가 가서 강보에 싸여 구유에 뉘어 있는 아기를 보리니 이것이 너희에게 표적이니라 하더니
[13] 홀연히 수많은 천군이 그 천사들과 함께 하나님을 찬송하여 이르되
[14] 지극히 높은 곳에서는 하나님께 영광이요 땅에서는 하나님이 기뻐하신 사람들 중에 평화로다 하니라
